My first one was Amiga 500, I just completely forgot that it counts as a PC :D

First game was definitely Turrican or Turrican II, and the other one where you could control a helicopter and/or some buggy or a tank. I don't remember the title, but the land vehicle was leaving permanent tire marks on the ground so it was quite cool.

I can still remember, it was a hard decision for me, either Amiga 500 or Commodore 64.

because these computers were at that time, not cheap and not every normal working person so a computer could buy. ;)

edit: I forgot to mention my C64 had a Cassette drive.

Thus even a bit older.

Sorry German side.

Here are a few curiosities. ;)

LOL No they had one at the local arcade (Castle Park), I used to take my nephew there (when I lived in Cali.) and we'd spend the better part of a day (only one or two times on the Afterburner) the rest of the time on Triple Axe, Altered Beast etc. etc. Afterburner started out as just an arcade game but then they brought in this monster. they made a killing with it LOL. they had lines out the doors "daily" waiting on it.

it was just a fun, Nobody has something like in his living room, perhaps only the super-rich. ;)

Half Life? I don't know.

How do you guys remember this stuff...?

I didn't say that Half Life 1 is old or oldschool or anything like that. I'm assuming that it was a sarcasm. If not then, well, sorry for misunderstanding.

Yes, all only young people, at least the majority!

My first PC was a *Commodore 64*

We use the "PC" acronym to refer to IBM PC compatible computers that run Microsoft operating systems.

Apple has many "personal computers" but no one calls them as "PC"s.

Similarly, C64, ZX Spectrum, Apple II, Atari etc. were all "personal computers" but not "PC"s. Strange, but that's the case.

sorry for the misnomer,  this is a C64

***The Commodore 64 is an 8-bit home computers with 64 KiB of RAM. Since its launch in January 1982 at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show of built by

Commodore C64 center until the late 1980s, both as a game console and software development extremely popular.***

I hope you are now satisfied, if not then is it me no matter, for me are those things all PC's, exception of consoles! :P  ;)

The OP and almost all the other people who replied in this thread know what "PC games" means, unlike you obviously. You may call your C64 as a PC or whatever you want, but nobody calls (or considers) "C64 games" as "PC Games".

FYI. You are not the only person here who is old enough to have played C64 games.

A related term is "PC" that was initially an acronym for "personal computer", but later became used primarily to refer to the ubiquitous Wintel platform.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_computer

Wintel is a portmanteau of Windows and Intel, referring to personal computers using Intel x86-compatible processors running Microsoft Windows.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wintel

Never mind the Wikipedia, the "PC" acronym existed back in the 80's and was basically used to refer to the IBM PCs and their clones and nobody really considered "PC"s as a gaming platform back then. People started to consider PCs as a gaming platform probably in the early 90's which is, I think, pretty much the fall of Amiga and the rise of Microsoft.

Croc the legend of gobbos (ibm 386, fps 8.. but hey i made to the minecarts with timing the lag.. skillz!)

-> UFO: EU (og 94 version, drm codes in guide book) -> UFO: Terror from the Deep (97) -> AOE 1-2 -> Flight Sim 96? -> HERETIC -> Space Cadet Pinball (admit it, this was awesome) -> SimCity 2000 (99) -> Duke Nukem 3D... list goes on. Early year 2000 gave me lineage 2, Tribes and whatnot. I built my  "power-house pc" in 2007 (TES modding began!) and the parts lasted up to 2011 before it literally blew up. I still have black spot on the floor where the explosion occured and voided cpu, mobo and so on.

my cousin had a "Schneider Personal Computer". That thing only consisted of the Power Converter, the Keyboard (with integrated 3.5'' FloppyDrive) and a monochrome Tube Display.

the games we played there (i was merely watching as i was too young to understand the controls) were lemmings and some game where you fly over an island and drop bombs on soldiers and buildings.

Years later we got the 386 with win3.1 and started playing "Chip's Challenge" and "Exile" although we barely understood a word because the games are english and we're german and we havent had any english classes yet (elementary school).

Then my father bought a PC (intel 200MHz, 3.2GB HDD, 64MB SDRAM) for his office at home and we could play HalfLife, Anno1602, TombRaider II and Unreal.
