People will have a hard time staying locked up for 2 months at home. And meanwhile, there are morons who think they are on vacation and go out for a walk. I continue to believe that this virus is not natural at all.

In my village if I leave the house I don't immediately bump into other people, so going out for a walk is pretty much safe, and even very much needed to keep sane if this goes on for a few months. Just keep your distance. That's probably the reason why some governments confine their people to their own appartments/houses, because people are idiots and can't be trusted to keep the necessary distance. Â And I don't believe that the Chinese are behind this, no. They are not that evil and they are not that stupid. Why would you set it free inside your own country? An accident with a bio weapon? Why sth this harmless then? I mean it's still much more dangerous than the seasonal flu but a mortality rate of probably less than 5%? That's pathetic, Plague Inc players would scoff at this. Viruses mutate, shit like this is expected to happen from time to time. I just hope that next time we are better prepared.

In fact most days we do not even SEE other people. The virus is not just floating around in the air outside. The real problem comes when you have to replenish food supplies. You're forced to be around other people. I am trying to figure out how to manage that part.  Oh, and the numbers for the US are way off and going to go up sharply. They've run out of test kits in my area and many others. And hundreds of tests are still in processing awaiting results. Once more test kits become available US numbers will climb.

Also you're expected not to pay with cash anymore, use your debit card.  Still no all day curfew though, except for a few towns/cities. Can you say it like that, all day curfew?

There was only for their shit election, football. And instead of putting people in quarantine from the start, they let it go and here is the result.

Korea did have a bit of an advantage though because they've had a history of having to deal with SARS/MERS. In China for instance, they have special flu clinics separate from regular hospitals where they can focus on flu patients specifically and deal with them much more efficiently and safely - these were setup nearly 20 years ago. In S. Korea, their overall response was much more decisive and their testing rollout much, much faster, partly because they had previous experience with SARS/MERS, and also because of the continual looming threat of N. Korea which includes the possibility of biological warfare.  For the West, this has been a real slap in the face and has shown us how unprepared we really were. Most Western government's response has been comparatively lethargic and inefficient.  In a sense, we're getting off lucky that this doesn't have a crazy kill rate such as was seen with MERS at around 35%. Even at the current rate, 1-2%, millions will unfortunately die, but, hopefully we can learn from this experience and get our shit together so we're not standing there like a deer in the headlights, soft, fat, and slow, when/if something even worse eventually rolls around.

This disease is a lot more dangerous than sars 2002, because it spreads much faster. My hope for this current dissaster is that all people will notice that we all live on the same planet and that all threats to our planets threatens us all. I considder this disease as "wake up call" to the world, together we stand, diveded we will fall.

But hey, we in France ours is not better. After the Chinese are there for us nothing either. They suffer from the virus just like we do. But we must admit that this virus is suspicious. Something that we have never heard before surfaced suddenly with thousands of victims everywhere and a few months later we will hear more. Just like bird flu, swine flu, srass etc.

Whether it's the EU, America, Australia, and even the Chinese. We all suffer from this gray; oblige to stay at home to wait without being able to see what we like. It is not time for accusations to accuse each other but more to support each other.
