The toilet paper is all gone

I don't know about Amazon, they did this:

"Amazon is temporarily blocking shipments to its warehouses in the US and Europe of all items other than household essentials, medical supplies and similar high-demand products amid the corona virus outbreak. At the weekend, Amazon warned unprecedented strain had meant it was out of stock on many important household goods. This move, communicated to third party sellers and vendors on Tuesday, will allow Amazon to prioritize, a spokesperson said. But it will come as a devastating blow to the millions of companies who use Amazon to distribute their products."

Essentially, Amazon will be cutting their earnings by letting go of 3rd party sellers, at least that is my understanding. Sure, they will make money on the other stuff, but the higher priced goods will not be sold.

As B&Ms, there is a lot of vids I can link that show how a great many of them will not be reopening if it is a long duration. Cali is actually thinking about making every B&M a squatter, to their lenders.

That, and having spent 2 years in one of their cleanest warehouses, you don't want to order anything from them right now. A few thousand people stuffed into one building, many of them being really nasty people that will wipe their ass, throw the dirty ass-tissue in the corner instead of the toilet and leave without washing their hands, proceeding to man-handle everything you bought. They play hot-potato with diseases in there.

$1200 rent? And he said that even before he was just making it. I'll live in a fucking hut if that what it takes to put money in savings. If you're spending every dime you make on bills, then you're living far beyond your means. Pay rent- eat Ramen noodles and play the same games since you can't afford nothin else.....ever. That bubble is bound to burst at the first hint of trouble.

I still don't get it, there must be a deeper sense behind it ?

I'm sure there is one.

Oh, yes there... ?

It's World War COVID!

Humans are scary if they don't have toilet paper ?

Corona virus sends greetings, also here with me is the toilet paper for weeks sold out, also pulp handkerchiefs.
I don't have a spoiled ass, earlier we used a Trybuna Ludu *newspaper*. :classic_wink:

Gonna leave this here: A girl is nearly killed because people wanted TP. (okay maybe not killed over TP but... fuckin hell):

  Reveal hidden contents

Here, some TP Wiki things:

"One tree produces about 200 rolls (100 pounds (45 kg)) of toilet paper"

"Americans use an average of 23.6 rolls per capita a year."

"As of 2009, between 22% and 48% of the toilet paper used in the United States comes from tree farms in the U.S. and South America, with the rest mostly coming from old, second growth forests, and, some from virgin forests.[12]"

Soon the people will have no toilet paper, because paper is becoming more and more precious.
on the one hand due to climate change and the related extinction of trees. :classic_wink:

and on the other hand toilet paper is a resource which irretrievably go lost, if one them flushes down in the toilet.
I personally have only used toilet paper made from recycled paper for many years.
I already said my ass is not spoiled. :classic_tongue:

Yup. There's no need to cut down the rainforest for frakkin' toilet paper (or three harvest seasons of palm oil) when recycled paper is abundant.
Over here we use a bidet /w air dryer additionally. That rises the costs for an already expensive bathroom by some $500-1,250 (for high end).

Not to mention that rainforests are home to half the planet's plants and animals plus 70% of plants with anticancer properties. I don't understand why everything isn't recycled now.

You can get some bidets that can be installed on regular toilets pretty cheap actually, $30-$40 USD. - They probably pay for themselves fairly quickly and save the rainforest...

Nice if you work for a company that sells toilet paper, is stocked up still, and also has disinfectant, I guess I will be among the last running out of tp around here ... though disinfectant is going short now we have to limit it so we can still deliver it to industry and medical use where it is needed most

I wonder if noodles though ... and flour ...

Toilet paper is made out of recycled paper.  They aren't 'cutting down the rain forest' for that.  Get a fucking grip.

If you self-righteous people are actually concerned about 'the planet' then stop using almond-based products and anything made with palm oil.  It takes 4 gallons of water to make ONE almond.  How many almonds in a quart of almond milk or a half pound of almond butter?  Palm oil...lumber companies cut down the rain forest and then replant with nothing but palm trees to satisfy the market demand for palm oil.  Consuming that shit makes you part of the problem.

I'm French and at home it's the same, the worst is almost confinement with a special certificate to go out (food, work, sport, visit to a weak person).
This morning, I went shopping in my store before the controls, I can tell you that I did not feel well. On the verge of cracking and crying so much that this situation is oppressive. While I am always full of enthusiasm, joie de vivre and energy but there ... it is eating me well as it should be!
Not to mention that I can not even continue my driving lessons, closed driving schools and canceled lessons, I do not know how I am going to do the weekend to go to my father and the week to return to my mother.
First time seeing this in my life.
Finally ... there may be good news and it may soon be over. My sister told my mother on the phone that tomorrow they will treat by spraying everywhere with a product with an airplane, the virus. And some labs have started to find solutions to cure the virus.

I stocked up on some supplies, should last me awhile. Toilet paper not a big concern for me, I can rig up an ass cleaning pot easily. Also got some of the last boxes of 7.62x51mm and 9mm. If people aren't as good natured as they should be, the real killer is going to be very angry, desperate people. Businesses go under, people lose their jobs, can't pay their bills. Might be seeing a lot of dead landlords in the future.  Food starts running low, I know where some ducks are, and were some raspberries grow. Most of where i'm at is an urban shithole though, so it's scarce.

Finding this stuff is like trying to compete in a major sport it is just stupid. I didn't know small sellers on amazon were told to get out of the way for essentials sales that means they will try to make a comeback by selling essentials instead of their usual stuff. With all of this chaos going on I keep checking on prices for amd video cards since I want to upgrade soon and I am just now seeing slightly better prices for an rx 590 on fleabay but not anywhere else. you would think nobody would care about video card prices when they can't take a shit but nope.

Someone mentioned earlier that the dollar value would go down well, it has risen and the markets crashing partly because of it. Finally the fed agrees to deal with commercial paper (tp joke in here somewhere) FINALLY and should have been doing it for many decades now since banks won't lend a dam thing to anyone ever. Everyone wants the dollar because of all the crap going on with foreign currencies right now and before all this virus mess happened we had statistics saying over 70% of the cash dollar was held outside USA and the $100 bill was in wider circulation than the $1 bill also 75% of all $100 bills are held outside USA. That means americans barely use cash anymore and have set themselves up for massive SHTF moment living beyond their means with credit cards. I think the credit card companies cry in a corner when stuff like this happens I really do.

From what I have been reading on some sites the major stores are going to stay out of tp for a while and other things if the hoarders keep at it because they use "just in time" supply chains instead of brokered supply chains. Just in time is cheaper and gets only what they really need into the store no overages or under either but that kind of thing can't deal with hoarders and panic buying. The brokered supply chain will have things for a few more days or longer but it costs more and it too will be empty soon.

I really hate the news media they show footage of people hardly working at tp factories instead of showing the ACTUAL PEOPLE that own the dam things or are CEO and have a real explanation from them and a discussion of just what the hell are they going to do about it. I think limiting people to one big ass package of tp or two four roll packs per day is a good idea and many places are doing that kind of thing but the supply runs out in 30 mins or less. I have been told by people at my local store to show up between 5am and 8am to get in line to buy tp when it comes in on a truck. Well that is the one thing people should NOT do during a virus pandemic fueled by insane media propaganda. Don't go around other people if you don't want to get sick well... get in line for tp or you won't find it for sale.

I did see some of the bread section returning to my local store today and their customer service section was open again after being shut down for three days to provide additional employees to checkout section. With the bread returning maybe the tp will come back too. Someone mentioned here earlier about small store owners buying from the grocery store and selling it in their shitty store, yeah that would be all these dam gas station owners doing that shit. They also find a way to get access to a food stamp govt assistance card and buy food with that instead of their own money to sell in their shitty gas stations. I think people like that should be publicly shamed and lined up for people that actually need food stamps to come throw rotten tomatoes at them.

I think what all these big box stores are going to do is just business as usual, keep their dam just in time crap supply chains going and just wait to see if sales of tp and bread slow down short term then call it done and think the hoarders gave up. I have been seeing info from many sites saying walmart is hoarding their own stuff and moving it from one store to another that is closer to major urban areas. That is a result of just in time supply chains. I know one thing for sure, when they finally do give up and tp is abundant I am gonna buy two or three four roll packs every few days from now on and maybe once a month one of those over priced big ass packs of mega toilet paper!

The most serious thing I read in the news lately is not about the virus but about states in america instructing their police to not arrest burglars and car thieves and drug dealers but instead get their info and issue an arrest warrant for them later when all this is over. The instructions were leaked from someone in philadelphia and those instructions basically said nothing about taking the suspect AWAY from the scene of the crime and then release them, just to release them after getting all their info. So the burglar could just go right back to the house they were breaking into literally a few feet away with the home owner standing there saying WTF while they burgle again? The first thought I had about that is shoot to kill and I bet that is on the minds of everyone panic buying guns and ammo right now. When one state stupidly does it then other states will too since we have the absolute dumbest politicians in charge of things these days. With the media pushing this end of the world crap on tv hourly and stuff out of stock in the stores then just about the whole dam country shut down we are going to have people looting and shooting very soon.

I hope shit doesn't get that bad.  If it does the three things to look out for are gang bangers, the cops, and attractive women.  Avoid them at all costs.

If there are any cattails where you live you can get food off of them as long as the ground isn't frozen.  Boil the roots like potatoes, the tinder pale parts of the inner shoots can be eaten as greens, and the corms can be roasted like corn as long as they are tight and still a little green.  Oh, and the smaller new leaves on those raspberry bushes make a passable tea after they're dried.

I live in the sticks so there's plenty to eat, but I don't wanna live like a dog Comanche.  I like air conditioning too much to hope the world ends.  I can survive if that happens, but it won't be fun.

Just in time is never going to go away and is a system that works and works well.  That is why it is used near universally in capitalistic societies.  Almost no company can afford to stockpile large amounts of product.  Even if they could afford to, the market almost always punishes them for it.  It just makes zero sense and adds cost (warehousing, security to guard it and so on) with zero gain.  Not to mention that ANY system you can name will buckle under a panic run scenario.  The product, be it TP, cash or whatever matters not.  This will always be the case until the Star Trek atomizer deal gets invented.  Even then raw materials must be delivered to folks so that their atomizer deal will work, so back to just in time or something similar.

Bottom line is people should have at minimum 1 month of emergency food (long term storage type - non refrigerated) as well as water and supplies.  If you don't, then this run on stores with every scare will continue to happen.  If you can't afford a month, then for craps sake do what you can and slowly build towards the month.  You don't accumulate it all at once.  Get some rechargeable batteries and a solar charger as well.  Little stuff like this makes all the difference.  Then you can do what I've been doing this whole time and laughing my ass off at all this crap.

Actually, watching/reading the news is pretty much insane.  ALL of them have been exposed for the fake news "click bate" that they truly are.  Get your news from a reliable source and you won't worry about stuff like this, if any of it is even true.

As to the catch and release: if you think about it, it makes a certain amount of sense for minor crimes (felonies should be prosecuted normally).  Why would you want to arrest a large amount of folks and concentrate them in a jail right now.  You are just asking for everyone, including the jailers to be exposed to the virus.

Not to mention the amount of time they may have to spend in jail as they overwhelm the courts ability to deal with them.  Britain did this same thing after the riot in London years ago and it worked very nicely........well, not so nice for those who's face was identified on camera and got hauled into court months later.  LOL!!!

I could not agree more.  I'm prepared for a SHTF type scenario, but seriously am hoping to die a very old man with cold A/C blowing in my face with a cold beer in one hand while fapping with the other to internet porn.  Being prepared only makes sense, but to actually want to live in primitive conditions just seems insane to me.  If someone wants that, just move to Alaska or cross the border into Mexico and start your little house on the prairie type existence.

I forgot about the attractive wamen scam, yeah well these days they are easier to spot since there are not that many of them anymore.

Even if they aren't part of a set up, what good are they?  Think of any hot girl you know and what can she really do?  In a situation where food and water are scarce, how much is she worth?  Is her free pussy worth a bottle of water or a can of beans?  And considering modern society and how hot girls get whatever they want just for being hot; how will that play out when she doesn't get her way?

Right now there are guys locked down in New York and LA who have hot girls living with them...and they are already tired of the whining and woman bullshit...and it's only been 4 days.

I just don't get the whole TP panic buying shit (lol)  Unless incessant diarrhea is a coronavirus symptom..?  In the event there's food shortages..pro tip: Cats and dogs are excellent protein sources.  Heck any pet will do.  It's time they returned the favor for all the free lodging and food they've gotten from their owners. (in honor of Jonathan Swift..)

Or heck, there's always cat and dog food to dine upon.

An article about the panic buying and hoarding and how it is making restocking difficult.

Fortunately we just happened to have tp and other stuff on hand when this crap started happening, though not the holy grail of hoarded crap- hand sanitizer- I normally don't buy it because it isn't as good as washing your hands. But it is a royal pain if you want to grab something different to eat. My daughter is getting real good at snagging stuff at the store while I am at work- she managed to get 5 pounds of ground beef yesterday and two bottles of rubbing alcohol. She also had a tp sighting, got into the store at the time when tp was available, but didn't bother because we have plenty and don't need a 24 pack.

Vaccination testing is underway and I think it will be available sooner than predicted because of the competing companies and that should calm people the fuck down once it is out, and this stupid panic buying should stop. Don't know i f the vaccine will be effective-they're skipping animal testing- but the placebo effect will ease the insanity off the supply chains.
