What really makes you happy?

I actually have sort of a love/hate thing with cosplay...

I mean, at my core, I love the hell out of it.  Even won a few minor awards for it in my Mara Jade getup early on.. but.. I hate it because I only pulled it off for a couple years before everyone was pretty much like "Get that gramma the hell outa here!"  xD  It was one of those things that happened well after my 'prime' as it were.  So.. yeah.  Sorta annoying, but.. doesn't stop me appreciating it all the same.  ^_^

Hey, sex and oddness (and combinations of the two)gets one monetized around these parts.

I remember when it was enough to just use vodka. Plugging a watermelon has changed.....

That is probably the gayest thing I've seen since the 80s. Is this one of those fraternity things? I like fruit.

My water bill went up since last month because I had a pipe leak, but didn't know where until yesterday. So I spent most of the day digging in my front yard and found where the leak was. Turns out it was coming from the pvc elbow. Looks like it fractured right in the middle. Thankfully where the pipe runs it was cracked where I could dig. Had it been fruther closer to the house, I would've had to break concrete just to find it. I dodged a bullet for now thankfully. Anyways, I got it all fixed up so no more leak.I'll wait a few days to make sure everything is sealed up right before patching the hole up with the dirt. Last thing I need is having to dig out the dirt again.

But now my toilet isn't filling with water. Looks like dirt got in the pipe and clogged it so now I have another problem to fix. Now I'll have to join my dog in the backyard to poop. yay!

Check with your water dept.   Ours (being one of the last city owned and operated water companies) writes off a portion of your water bill, if the leak was someplace that reasonable people would not notice.   Unfortunately, photo evidence is pretty much a requirement.     My rental property had a leak (toilet fill valve failed), and my renters, didn't notice it because it would only shut off when the house was shook by trains that run near there twice a day.    If your water company is owned by a for profit group...well....  at least pooping in the back yard makes you happy.

WOOHOO!  No more mask mandates for TX!

Glad to see this starting.

Much like the man said, I don't give two squats if people WANT to wear masks until 2050.  More power to 'em.  Most Asian nations have already been doing this if the person feels they are at risk, or would potentially put others at risk as a normal thing.  It's really not that complicated.

Being in Wisconsin, what Texas does really has no effect on me, but I'm glad to see someone getting the ball rolling.  We ourselves have this messy mish-mash situation.  Governor keeps trying to push heavy gathering/mask mandates, along with various regional/county officials, where the main state rep body keeps pushing to repeal everything he passes, so where you can go and whether or not masks are mandatory depends a LOT on exactly where in the state you are right now.

Not  as bad as some states, but I'll be really happy when I can stop needing to look up a city/county before I go there to know whether or not I'll basically be turned away at the border or at least the door of whatever bar & grill I wanna stop to eat at because I don't have a friggin' mask on.

The actual contextual outcome is not that Texas is _______ the _______, the result is Texas has been relaxing restrictions for months based on mostly common sense and known medical data, and thereof cases, contrary to certain members of this forum and the general reactionary media, haven't done jack shit in terms of spiking or raging out of control or [insert media headline here].

The two week freeze had more logistical impact on Texas' budget as a state and individual members thereof than the entire year of carbonara virus. One wonders how the media will spin the next outbreak as the nigh apocalypse when everyone is still not able to get medical grade masks in the quantity supposedly required cause China isn't inclined to hand them out anymore at the current price range.

Good. Time to shut down the Kens and Karens. They don't run the world. And Newsome trying to give his opinion. What a joke. Go back to your fancy parties  while lecturing California to stay home.

Next up Zombie Apocalypse.

:P

We could only be so lucky.  I've been wishing for a zombie apocalypse pretty much all my life.

I mean, (most) people already pretty much act like zombies.  Stupid, self-absorbed, follow the crowd but never really get anywhere...  I figure it might suck a lot less if they actually ARE zombies and it's legal, and actively encouraged to just shoot the poor bastards.  ;)

Ok.. I'm joking.  Well... mostly.  lol

As long as it doesn't involve The Governor. He was a shitty antagonist.

Better than 4 season of that Degan bullshit.  Dude was in one issue of the comic and twink Carl shot him...that's how insignificant he was.  GAH!  Don't even get me started on what Walking Dead turned into.

The Shapiro comments are golden.  Did my heart good.  I work all the time now, so I don't have much time to do squat. I'm taking a few minutes out to post on this board after a conference call.  These days what makes me happy is modding k17 On a Saturday morning for a couple of hours while watching pirated Hercule Poirot movies on Youpoop. Usually with a mug of miso in my hand.  Nothing terribly exciting but it's peace and quiet. modding is meditative to me.

What makes me happy is I didn't watch beyond the first season!    :P   Didn't waste my time and still am not interested in it. I'll watch the new SJW themed Marvel and Star War releases before I watch another season of TWD. ;)

All I know is it's one less thing Leftists can lord over people; and THAT makes me extremely fucking happy.

If rebelling over a piece of cloth makes you happy. I wonder when they're going to get rid of pants. Somewhat hopeful.

I stopped watching The Walking Dead once Rick Grimes was out of the picture.

I quit watching years ago after the Negan brutality started. The OP'd way they set up that entire 'ambush' and the resulting violence wasn't anything I was willing to follow. Just a few months ago - due to the lack of anything 'new' worth watching IMO, I revisited the series - by starting with S1E1 and bingeing past the Negan tomfoolery to the current situation (waiting on the extended season finish).

Watching this way it became ridiculously obvious how the series changed over the years, confirming my opinions about 'soap-opera' style shows and how social 'politics' and fan 'input' can affect what is presented. Now I just eat popcorn and watch the train wreck. With serious interest gone and being able to see it for what it is, I definitely have taken the MST3K approach.

Heh, I thought that came with the introduction of the hand held mobile phone devices.

Skip to 1:46 to see how Rock and Rule predicted the future introduction of the Cellphone.....

Spoiler

And this is the scene later in the movie after returning to our Heroes after 'use' of these devices.

So yeah - 'Zombie Apocalypse' indeed.

Too much to reply to individually, so I shall summarize.

  1. Yay Zombies!

  2. Never watched The Mandalorian (I wait for shows to be long over before I invest, else they just end up cancelled when I start enjoying them anyway), but from everything I hear about this mess...

"Beep/Bop/Boop" (Or whatever) makes me think "R2D2", not fuck-all about any side of trans issues, so IMO, leave Gina Carano the fuck alone.

    A. She's kinda hot.

    B. She's welcome to whatever fucking opinion she has.  Much like anyone bitching about her twitter posts or whatever, I doubt they'd like being told what they can or can't post either, and frankly, I don't find any of her supposedly insensitive or inflammatory comments any more offensive than saying "bread" so, yeah... w/e.

  3. Fuck Kathleen Kennedy.  Seriously.  Admittedly, I haven't kept up with ALL the 'modern' SW universe, and even some of the stuff before her era was already sorta crap, IMO, but SINCE she 'took the reigns' over at Lucas, a good 90% or more of anything SW I *have* seen is just... no.  Fuck that.  Not in MY Star Wars, bitches.  I actually only even managed to choke down two of the 3 "Sequel Trilogy" or whatever they are, as frankly, about the ONLY thing I liked in TLJ was it had Chewie in it, and those little space penguin doods are freaking cute.  Like, "OMG! The cuteness is melting my brain!" cute.  Cat pics (which I usually DO find adorable) have nothin' on those little guys. xD

So... yeah.  Think that pretty much covers it.  lol
