Reading the Longest sentence in history of Nexus was like trying to read something written from a 6 year old and how they like to run everything together. There really needs to be a auto correct thing for spelling errors punctuation and so forth so when you run into posts like that you can click auto correct and fix it much like how you can click translate to translate a page which would be better then putting white out on your screen because you would have to keep doing it each time you scrolled the wheel some.

I have been debating for a week or more about whether or not to post here, wondering if I would be believed or not, but here goes.

 

I was banned for "Harassment on member via PM in chat and generally just being a trouble maker."  Well, as I made abundantly clear to Robin, I had not sent or received a PM from anyone at all in chat that evening (I had only been on for maybe 15 minutes and was very friendly) and had not sent or received a PM to anyone except for Micalov for months and months (being a mother of twins born in December does that to you).  The PM exchange with Micalov started (a week or two earlier) because in open chat he accused me of being a troublemaker right out of the blue (perhaps true, as I call Robin on screw-ups by his mod team from time to time) and I asked him what he meant.  He sent me a PM accusing me of being trouble and I just ignored it.

 

A week or two later I am banned.  From what Robin wrote to me in response to my unban request, either Micalov lied to him or someone hacked my account.....

 

Or Robin is just an asshole.

Thing about Nexus and how they operate; They are always right (even when they're not and it is blatantly obvious).

Yes, Nexus is always right.  And that is something I cannot swallow.  Yes, I called DO on his bullcrap sometimes, but I never deserved to be banned.....well thank goodness for proxy servers, lol

Looks like this was definitely a Byzantine backstab.

 

Again, at this point it's obvious he doesn't care if one or ten thousand are booted off for even the most imaginary or trivial of offenses, regardless of whether it's an ordinary user or Premium, as long as he's profiting from online ads (some of questionable origin), choosing those who could kiss his ass, and uses some of that money to fund his personal indulgences.

I got temp-banned from NexusMods for saying that ApolloDawn's "Civil War Overhaul" was too buggy and incomplete to be considered a 3rd revision stable release, all while praising the concept and providing debug logs.

 

The contention I was making is that calling a mod stable, when it isn't and you know it isn't, is tantamount to wasting the time of those who just want to enjoy a mod that does what it says. There should be room for testing and experimental work, but if a mod breaks at spontaneous times 7 times in a row (7 different new saves) on an unofficial patches + official DLC install while calling itself stable version 3.0, then something ain't right.

 

Too offensive to say that. Engage the banhammer!

I wouldn't say that goes for everyone as I've met and am friends with modders very happy to hear criticism and feedback/suggestions from their fans.

I wish I could generalise and say that almost everyone at the nexus is open-minded like that but they're not.

They're very far up their own butts and often a ton of potential is wasted because of the depth at which they've stuck themselves up their own asses.

The Vampire Don'te isn't helping anyone by liberally banning those of good will who criticize something constructively.

Knowing Apollo, for all of his sense of humor, sounds like it's what from you that he couldn't take. Wow.

 

Before Nex ever existed, there was Fanfiction.net, and I once used to read some fics. Not all of them are well-written, and there are some who can't really take criticism easily. No difference between the two, there are great fics and mods, and then shitty fics and mods.

Your right. There are infact good people modding over there. Which makes me wonder why they are there in the first place. 

Could be wanting exposure, could be they're not old enough to be here, could be that they don't know how bad the Nexus really is and barely go to the forums anyway. I believe you have to be reported as "being mean" to be banned unless Don'te roams every mod page ever looking for people giving criticism.

The worst part is that on some occasions the mod-authors really don't know their mods break games because they are so used to not paying attention to any honest criticism. End result being there are mods that have been there for years that are still as broken as the day they were uploaded to that place. I gave up sometime ago trying to talk reason with them and just went ahead and TES5Edit cleaned and patched that damn things myself or stopped using them altogether.

There is a line between offering honest criticism of a mod-authors work (or lack thereof) and trolling. I've gotten some harsh feedback over some of my work, but it has always been followed by advice or links on how to fix the issue, regardless if the feedback may sting a little at the time the end results speak for themselves. In the end i feel more grateful to have gotten the help than dejected over how it was delivered. That's not something I've herd anyone say about nexus. Over there if your not graveling at their feet like a wanton whore your a good-for-nothing-troll in their omnipotent presence. 

 

 

I've done a little bit of mod working myself, mostly to fix mods I had downloaded (I've never uploaded anything) but I couldn't fix Civil War Overhaul. I wasn't able to offer much more help than debug logs, so one might say I wasn't as helpful as maybe I should be. I also criticized his mod description page as being "funny but almost useless in terms of solving issues". The post I made got deleted, btw.

 

Either way, taking professional criticism as a personal insult (which he admitted to do directly by calling the mod "my baby" and that I should apologize for calling the mod buggy) is a surefire way of never getting the problems solved.

 

The tempban has expired btw, but I appear to be banned from his modpage as well. Oh well, saves me some hassle.

There is no point in ever posting anything on the nexus ever, except for mods of course. There's always a chance you'll run into a moderator that's having a bad day and just outright bans you because his microscopic penis demands it. It's really not worth sounding off if every time you're facing a coin-flip on whether or not your account gets bombed for no fucking reason.

Like it's always pointed out you just get mods from there and run like hell. 

And always run an adblocker of some kind.  If three people do that in an average browsing session that is one less Cosmo DarkOne can drink on vacation.  I'm sure hes getting all lubed up for Greece about this time anyway.  He goes every year.

The thing is I don't think Civil War Overhaul is a shitty mod. I think there's more variation than just "good" and "bad" mods. Civil War Overhaul is like awesome amazing fanfiction which is full of typos.

 

I never said CWO was "shitty" because I never used it due to my rig's limitations. Whenever a mod comes in new or updated, I have to check and read before using, make sure it doesn't cause a problem to my gameplay or consume too much resources.

Banned for owning a cracked Skyrim. It's one thing to tell someone there is no support for those with a pirated Skyrim. It's another tho ban him from Nexus just for owning one. I don't support people getting cracked games, but neither do I support banning them from a site just for having one. I think DrGrimm just wanted to ban someone. I think I'm gonna stop posting over there, just out of principle.

 

They should have told him they won't help him with his "copy" of Skyrim. He might not have thought it was a big deal, but telling him "no help" would've been a way to say "go buy the damn game". But to ban him for mentioning it? Seriously, banning people can't be the answer to everything. Saying no help for pirates may have convinced him to actually buy it. Also, consider the fact that 99% of the modders over there (and everywhere else) use cracked Photoshops and 3DS Maxes to make the mods that make Nexus so popular. Gonna ban them too?

 

The list of people banned has to be numbering in the hundreds of thousands by now. Is it an addiction? Like gambling? Just can't stop??

I have had adblocker for quite awhile many sites like gaming sites facebook not that I ever really used facebook have so many pop ups on their pages and pop ups that pop up during game loading and videos loading that with it turned on their pages actually start to look half way decent spam pops ups and spam that load up before games and movies do that are there to try to force you to watch it before you can play/watch are gone. I also use ghostery which shows everything that is tracking you when you go to a site and you have the option to leave them be or block them. Some have a few some have a shit ton and some have non but those are usually not web pages. There is also hide my ass and many others. I use https://ixquick.com/ for my web browsing. Facebook atm has 8 pop ups and one tracker.

I guess sooner or later there'll be some riot of people pulling their stuff when another unfair call is made, after which the moderators of the Skyrim Nexus will drag it out in their usual way of losing temper and swinging their ban hammers, causing more web-wide negativity than they're worth and whoever is at the top of Nexus will look for new, fresh faces to take over the moderating position.

The age on his account says 40, he says in chat he's 15 so not knowing his real age they ban him. upon appeal if he does he will have to show proof he is 18 or over because it shows he has downloaded adult content. this is one I can understand, no website wants that kind of legal issue which it could turn into real quick if his parents want to get pissy about it and he is actually only 15. all he would of had to do is keep his big mouth shut about age.
