Howdy! Trying to set-up SSurvival but I keep getting a crash when entering Riften's city limits. I'm kind of a mod newbie and just use LOOT for my Load Order. Does anything here stand out as 'off' and 'in need of reordering?'

Call it what you like but don't think you can argue that all the free & risk free beds everywhere in Skyrim does not go against the weak/poor girl scenario. Having to beg/steal/whore/submit for a bed is a good dilemma for such a scenario. In vanilla there's no actual real reason for you to have your own home. You buy homes because you've got septims cascading out of every orifice. With SLS you do it because it makes a difference.

 

If you can sleep and/or stash your shit anywhere would you honestly bother with a home or property licence? I wouldn't. Not until I had every other licence and was comfortable enough. It flips the order of importance of the different licence types.

Perhaps. But again, not everyone runs DCL (me in particular) so you won't get harassed by SLS at all then. Does it matter? See above.

 

I'm probably going to remove the base DCL bondage adventure anyway and replace it with something eventually.

 

And just to add that with 'residency' it's much easier to get weapons and armors past the toll guards because there's no toll evasion because there's no tolls.

15 days work is always going to sound less dull than 15 hours :P

 

Also I'd just point out that you're probably going to run into your pet peeve there with the likes of:

I'm being facetious of course but you get my meaning. But I guess we're used to that kind of thing already anyway.

I'm not aware of any ctd issues. 

Are you actually inside the city or approaching the city (on the outside) because there's not much happens on the outside. A few invisible markers are loaded. 

 

If you're SE check you have the simply knock requirements - SKSE plugin fix. And make sure papyrus util is the latest version. 

Other than that I'd disable SLS and see does it still happen.

This had me cracking up a bit just now. xDDD Well, even evil has standards. Some bandits might follow the "violence is okay, nudity is not" guideline. :P Seriously, I kinda hope Bethesda keeps sex modders in mind next time they make an RPG.^^

But yeah, as for Sanguine Debauchery: After reading your quoted text I came to the conclusion that I won't install the mod anymore. But I can see I had it too high in the load order maybe. Maybe I will try Submissive Lola for the boytoy part of my playthrough - I didn't know before that it can be played as a male. I hope Brynjolf is available for this thanks to RDO. :classic_wub: 

 

Is there any spanking mod for male "victims" (or gender neutral)? I tried the recommended "Spank that ass" but it has "young female eager" integrated as player voice :classic_sleep:. And my PC even managed to slap someone in the face for the clap on his butt, even though my PC was tied up that time. And in Sexlab Survival I also had to deactivate Spanking events sadly, because my PC replied with a female voice (even though I thought I had unchecked him squiling). Seems I'm out of luck when it comes to gender-free spanking mods. Edit: Oh, that one was made for m/m in the first place. Can't believe my luck, hope it works!

I would like to switch the audio files in Survival for a male PC one, but try to find stuff like "male yelling/crying for help sfx" and it shows me military movie sounds of hard-boiled soldiers instead of voices I can use for my cute helpless imperial. xD I will try to fiddle around with Lazy Voice Finder in hopes to find "male average" voice files that fit.

I'm on LE and it was on approach. The mod seems to run okay after lightening the load a little so it might just be a fluke.

 

Are there any other known conflicts I should look out for? Anything with Slaverun or the like?

Not afaik. Some of the mod is designed around slaverun.

Hey Mono. I've got a great mod I've been using on SE that enhances SL survival experience!

It allows the option for the Inn's room's to be "full" , and also for innkeepers to sleep at night therefore room renting disabled, all fully voiced.  This lets the player to actually go around the town asking for a place to stay or go the kennel way without cheating with the constantly available Inn ?

 

 

The only problem is that it's not for LE entirely, but it may work or a simple conversion could be done down the road.

Yup, because I often play according to private rules about what I can or can't do.

Such as forbidding all prostitution, unless forced. Sometimes what the mod won't do you can just do in your head.

But of course, it's better if it works. Not saying you shouldn't try to patrol beds; I just don't need it to be infallible because I don't exploit it anyway.

If you're sufficiently deterred, you won't try even if you're tempted. It's like "Maybe that electric fence is off. Do I want to test it with my tongue?"

Hmm, gro-Shub isn't terribly friendly, so he's a good pick. Most mages are fairly arrogant, even to the archmage, as they all think it should be them, except maybe Tolfdir, who doesn't even care.

 

The Companions are a different matter though.

I really like the new Trauma system in the mod but I'm running into a problem that I did not see when I searched the topic.  The overlays/tats consistently come out as grey blobs in the shape of the bruises.  When I use the console for showracemenu and get to the character editing screen the bruises show perfectly and they stay that way until slavetats updates and then they return to the greyish shapes.  If it matters, I use ECE for character creation.  I've posted this problem over in the slavetats section as well but thought there may be some insight here as well.  Any thoughts or suggestion?  Thanks.

Sounds interesting. But need an LE version. If someone would let me know if/when that happens because I don't really keep up with mod releases/updates these days.

Wasn't trying to be unfriendly. 

But I think you dismiss this part of the mod as being somewhat unimportant while I think it underpins many of the other parts in and even around SLS.

Is this SE or LE? Before and after pic? Bruises are kind of grey/blue/black anyway...

Can't say I've seen it. If you're certain that it happens on slavetats updates then it would seem to be something to do with slavetats. It shouldn't be modifying external overlays. 

SLS doesn't apply overlays via slavetats so they should be external and therefore unmodified by slavetats.

oh, and someone over on the SSE forum was saying that the Kennel master cannot understand gag talk. Not sure how any of that works, but I can see how that would be a problem, especially since they tend to equip gags on you. ?

These are some CBBE bodyslide files for Leather Sandals for use in SSE. They may work fine in LE, but not tested.

 

No one ever did a decent (or any) set for CBBE in LE, so these are fixed up a little, made for CBBE with added 2 Zaps for the shoe (one removes the lowest strap as well as the shoe) and the thigh band, so they can be worn as barefoot footwear. I had a hell of a time finding anything useful and decent looking to use with Barefoot Realism, so here is the result.

 

You need the original mod, I included the SSE converted ESP, but it's probably not required. Instructions on how to get the sound for barefeet are in the file.

 

I thought I'd drop these here, since it's the most active thread for Monoman1's mods, and I like all of his stuff, and some may find these useful for use with this mod or the Barefoot Realism Tweak, or for whatever.

No. That's not it. I don't think it's unimportant. It's actually quite important to me, but perhaps not in the same way or for the same reasons.

I find it just as, or even more troubling, when a certain bed doesn't work properly as a way to obtain rest, when I think it should.

 

 

There are a number of areas in SLS where there's a location or NPC that needs special handling. Whether an area is "in" a particular city or not, for example.

Those can, often, be configured in the MCM, and support dynamic modification.

 

 

To me, beds feel the same. It should be entirely up to the player to decide whether a given bed is comfy or horrible, or whether it's a bed at all. It should also be up to the player to decide whether a bed is subject to unanticipated adventures. That way, you don't spend two real days travelling to CoW, and then get teleported away before you can do anything there, unless you think that's ok - which you might. And if you have a mod that changes a bed, it isn't suddenly rendered useless.

 

 

The approach of getting further and further into the internals of Companions/Mage Guild/Thieves Guild is a time sink that is likely to end in frustration.

There will always be one player (and then another, and another) who has installed some mod that impacts that guild in an unanticipated way, who is unhappy, or wants a fix, or a change, or support for their favorite content mod because they feel what you did conflicts with it.

 

And so, you invest a lot of time and effort in trying to make those guilds interesting and fun in SLS, but instead of happiness and rewards for your hard work, you're getting grief and complaints. That rare player with the conflict is raising a stink, even if 99.9% of players are happy.

 

 

Instead of any (further) special support for those guilds, you could (for example) implement a pair of drop downs that lets the player set the behavior of the bed under crosshair in the MCM.

You could use StorageUtil tags or something, so even other mods can see how a bed is tagged.

That would mean the player can make beds work how they want, and you don't have to make the logic for bed filtering infallible.


 

Now, I'm not saying you should go out and do that, just that it's a possible path. It's about agreement "in principle" on the best path, even if that is never possible or achieved. Maybe in a perfect world, bed recognition would work exactly as you intend, for all beds. But what if my intention differs from yours?

Would it be possible to prevent the player from using crafting furniture, getting training or learning spells if orgasm fatigue makes stamina/magicka go below zero?

 

I've set myself a roleplay rule for this and it makes SLS so much more brutal and disempowering.
