I'm using brave. I've actually gotten this before and never bothered to follow up with the discord owner. I'ma try edge or something and see.

 

I finally got Brave to work. It kept wanting me to verify my email and then told me my email was already registered. I dunno. I'm in. Thanks.

I recommend setting up pi-hole instead of using brave.

If you are a member, you should see a "RELEASES" section with an "aaf_public_release" channel under it. The download is there.

It looks like you're restructuring according to the announcement. So the releases section isn't there, only Terms, Rules, and Announcements is all I can find. Guess I'll wait.

Have you read the rules yet? You have to react to the rules before you're granted access to other channels.

Hey guys I was wondering how to safely update from AFF beta 161.1 to the current 171.1? I use vortex and last time I downloaded a newer version of looksmenu my save file got corrupted (AFF error 074) so I'm pretty sure updating AFF will do the same?

Just install the update. It will not corrupt your save. But if you’re that worried, update and start a new game.

Every time I try to join the discord I get a whoops unable to accept invite. Incognito, different browser, vpn, even making a new account, none of these things work. Dunno how to join or what's wrong.

Discord may block popular VPN endpoints due to, unfortunately, malicious individuals using them to evade bans. This is why we can't have nice things.

The wiki is no longer at the old location (bitbucket). It's now at moddingham.com. You can access it there once you are a member at the AAF discord.

@dagobaking Clicking any discord links (whether the download link or the one in your signature) gives me "Invite Invalid - This invite may be expired, or you might not have permission to join". Reading this thread it looks like other folk have similar issues, too. Copy-pasting the link into the discord app worked for me. After reacting to the bot in the rules section, I was able to download the newest version.

As a fellow mod author myself (or maybe "ex mod author" as I am currently no longer active modding) I understand how much work goes into mods, and I have a lot of respect for active modders. This respect does not change the fact that modders who make their releases available on discord only make it much harder for users to actually use their mods. There were a few times over the last months where I just decided not to install a mod because it was only available on discord and I had the same problem with the "Invite Invalid" links. I have come to actually resent Discord (also I believe the UI of the discord app is shit) and long for the "good old days" where we had just working download links on a webpage instead. Guess I am getting old .

re: the Discord link not working. It could be something related to your computer configuration. Whether one app is allowed to call up another, etc.

 

re: hosting on Discord. It wasn't my first choice either. But, users complained about the previous choice and the alternatives do not meet basic needs. The alternative is for it to simply not be hosted anywhere.
