For some reason animations aren't triggering. Actors just stand there looking at eachother like a pair of stunned mullets, and if I try to manually trigger one, I can't get to the menu. I press home, then enter, and the little dots start swirling, but nothing happens, I don't progress to the next page.

Check your installation with AAF_GFV.exe (can be downloaded from Moddingham), and if that doesn't provide sufficient clues try asking in the help channels on the AAF Discord.

How long does it usually take to get the conformation email from moddingham been waiting 2 days so i could update to the latest version but nothing has showed up in my inbox or junkmail?

Sorry for the inconvenience. You probably need to re-register. The emails SHOULD go out quickly within at least a few minutes. But, the email server we use had an issue on their end a few days ago (they somehow let an SSL cert expire on the SMTP server). It has been fixed and should be working now.

Apparently I need a compatibility patch to use this with Four Play, but I don't see anything on the page, and google doesn't tell me anything. Is there a link for that?

Hm. I'm not familiar with a compatibility patch for AAF + Four Play ...

## [Beta 166] - 2021-12-14
### Fixed
- Optimized application of morphs. - Thanks EgoBallistic
- SayTopic preserves original voice. - Thanks EgoBallistic

### Changed
- api_include_idle_forms feature from last build: changed from array of int form id to array of string idle id names. If no id name is in the XML AAF makes one based on the plugin name and hex value of the idle.

---

## [Beta 165] - 2021-10-16
### Fixed
- Additional adjustment to make custom names work in more contexts.
- AAF listening for keys when various menus open.
- Updated LLFP (v42).
- RemoveOverlaySet function not applying.

### Added
- api_include_idle_forms to ini. This is off by default. If it's on, idle forms are sent in various events (see wiki).
- startAnimation and stopAnimation to Furniture XML group nodes. This allows defining an animation ID that plays on a furniture when an AAF scene starts and stops animating on it.

Years ago when most stuff was still written for use with Four-Play Framework there was an "AAF Compatibility Patches" mod which you'll find mentioned in some earlier guides like this one, but AAF has long since grown to be the backend used by all the modern animation-using mods, and so that was deleted by its authors after it was deemed obsolete. Approximately nobody is still using Four-Play Framework today, it hasn't been maintained for something like 4.5 years now and you'd need to use older animations than will work with AAF now, so would be stuck choosing between it and AAF anyway.

So I can just uninstall Four-Play and it should be all good?

Well, if you still have Four-Play Framework installed, then I can't begin to guess what other outdated mods you have installed alongside it. Make sure you have AAF implementations of all your animation-using mods, and that you've upgraded all your animation packs to the latest available versions, installed Themes, and so on.

Won't let me log in :( Says my Username is unrecognized. Username there is same for here.

I looked it up and there are no registered users with that name on the site.

So, it sounds like you can resolve by registering and logging in.

Everything's updated, I've disabled all the FP stuff, and Themes has been installed for yonks, still nothing. Is it because I'm loading an old save? Do I need a new game?

Did you load animation packs, Savage Cabbage, BP70, etc.? There is an actual guide page for what you need. We should not have to play 20 questions with anyone!

This is what I use, it works for me and unequips everything except the Pip-Boy.

AAF_equipmentSetData.xmlUnavailable

Also, make sure your Equipment Slots section in AAF_Settings.xml looks like this:

<!-- EQUIPMENT SLOTS -->
<!-- Adjust the range of biped slots AAF controls -->
<!-- See here for the index of slots: https://www.creationkit.com/fallout4/index.php?title=Biped_Slots -->
<setting id="clothes_scan_startslot" value="0"/>
<setting id="clothes_scan_endslot" value="43"/>
<!-- Adjust the range of biped slots AAF copies during animations involving the PC. Do not change this unless you really understand it. -->
<setting id="clothes_copy_startslot" value="0"/>
<setting id="clothes_copy_endslot" value="43"/>

This still available anywhere?

Question: was getting an error message via Violate when AAF could not find a M+M+F+F gangbang animation.  Fixed it simply by excluding females from gangbangs... but is there an animation pack that actually does have that combo?

That file is pretty much the same as the "Everything" option now included in AAF.

I use the Fortaleza (the original) right now and it doesnt strip the pauldrons or belt (AAF 1.64) but I found it in an old folder tusked away in a mods folder, so its all good now :)

Strange.  The two files remove the exact same equipment.

To be clear, when answering the FOMOD installer options for AAF, choose "Max Compatibility" for stripping. That removes the following biped slots presently:

			<unEquip bipedSlot="Hair Top"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="Hair Long"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="FaceGen Head"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="BODY"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="L Hand"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="R Hand"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[U] Torso"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[U] L Arm"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[U] R Arm"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[U] L Leg"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[U] R Leg"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[A] Torso"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[A] L Arm"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[A] R Arm"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[A] L Leg"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="[A] R Leg"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="Headband"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="Eyes"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="Beard"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="Mouth"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="FX"/>
			<unEquip bipedSlot="Unnamed1"/>

If you want to add others, find their names at the URL provided in the comment in the AAF_equipmentSetData.xml file.

I did, and it still doesnt cover the pauldrons or belt for Fortaleza.

It is strange, but I have to use that to get those 2 pieces to strip.  Maybe my game is just strange <.<

In that case, check the plugin for those in FO4Edit to see what biped slots they use, and add them to the unequip list in that file.
