They said they changed servers along with IPB software updates. I wonder if it didn't break some filespaths here and here, so there's a lot to correct. I'd expect it to last for some more time.

but why outcalculated here, and not other website, all other updates also. :classic_wink:

If ads should be illegal, then probably you have to pay for a site like this.

The site costs time and money, and ads are the main source of income to keep it alive.

You are Absolutely right..

Because they aren't changing servers in another websites. Actually, they're not even forced to update their software ; I know a huge forum that runs on a 2010 build. :classic_tongue:

Also Ashal is a bit alone there, and there might be unexpected difficulties with that version of IPB.

Just in the case you haven't been reported: Editing post has problem with time expiration in blog section. Once it is posted, you can't edit it. Well, you can, but you have to refresh the page first because "saving ...." is looping and if you got any of 500 variant your edited post doesn't accept changes. So I had to write a new post, refresh the page and delete the first post.

what had been happening to the website? someone on one of my discord server was saying that it might of been getting hacked.

Mostly problems on the site software.

From time to time also some DDoS attacks.

Yes. It's doing better now than it has the previous week. And I've got some additional things that should really help that'll be done in a few days.

When I got the 522 Connection error I knew I would waste my time for LL to be back.

But LL seems to be a popular site, although I wonder why. :classic_tongue:

Sorry, I don't buy into the "DDoS attacks"  idea. Those cost money, and 3 weeks long DDoS is really expensive, we are talking about at least thousands of USD here. I can't imagine someone throwing that kind of money on putting down LL. Who could it be? Some religious community angry at us naughty kids? Nexus trying to drive competition out of business?

Now if there are bots harvesting LL for information and trying to brute-force login forms, that's another story, but this kind of traffic should have been handled already by Cloudflare. I think it's just the board software problems. My wild (w/o looking at actual situation on the server) guess is that the database size has grown past some breakdown threshold and now it starts performing really bad. Kinda typical situation when a poorly written site software starts hitting the database multiple times per page view, I've seen this one before. Too bad I can not help since no one from the team doesn't even seem to respond here anymore.

Not so expensive given the full load of "zombies computers" around the world and the "script kiddies" tools nearly free to use who can use such "zombies PC pool" easily.

Malware can carry DDoS attack mechanisms; one of the better-known examples of this was MyDoom. Its DoS mechanism was triggered on a specific date and time. This type of DDoS involved hardcoding the target IP address prior to release of the malware and no further interaction was necessary to launch the attack.

Not to mention on the darker side of the internet there are forums were you can get a few thousand people who would willing to be your "zombie agent" and they do it just for shits and giggles and it costs pocket change to pull off.

Those "script kiddies" charge money for the services provided. The whole Black Hat scene is far past beyond "script kiddies" thing, the era when people did malicious stuff just for fun, for a very long time -it's people making money now.  And no, "zombies PC pool" is not free either - people sell PCs infested with malware on black markets.

Tons of smaller sites get DDOSed. The manga site I use, mangadex, has been getting DDOSed on and off for the past few weeks.

What most people call DDoS is just a site being harvested by bots or simply site not being able to handle the traffic they get. Mangadex is behind the Cloudflare captcha.  Do you think someone is actually have a farm of cheap monkeys solving captchas so they can DDoS your site no one ever cared for?

Some weeks ago loverslab started to take a rather long time to load the site. About 10-20 seconds of loading. Other sites don't need longer then before.
The slaverun SE mod doesn't even show up. (the pic: https://imgur.com/a/5gNd8NW)

Its not just you the last few days. It would take forever to load and even not load at all throwing out errors
