myuhinny Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I was just thinking we have a way to block each person's signature would it be possible to do that as well for a person's avatar? It would be nice if we could as there are a few that I have seen that I would like to block because I don't want to see them and the ones I see are not breaking any rules I just don't want to see some of them.
Sorceress99 Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 My upload speed is almost non-existent. It took me 19min11sec to upload a 73.mb file to LLjust now. Dec11 @7.45pm I uploaded the same file to mega in 2m42s. and to google drive in 2m37s. Same files. What is going on? The old site was as fast as Mega and Google Drive. Now it in the tank.

I am running this, mega and streaming... no telling what others are doing on this network at the same time and my service has slowed down in recent months. Judgement, it is a bit slower than I would expect it to be at this time of day but not by much. I was able to download in about 1~3 minutes. In truth it was much faster before however, I don't think it is the site (or at least not a major factor) I believe my issue has to do with the browser, and network and such. Hope that helps. 5 hours ago, DoctaSax said: At CPU's going rate, that's a serious bill you can expect in the mail. At my going rate... Guest Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Something interesting happening with follower's counter. When I'm not logged in, my profile shows 28 followers. After logging in, it shows 29 followers. LOL. Does it mean that I follow myself?

myuhinny Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 I usually have at least 15+ tabs open at one time in chrome + nifskope blender paint-net and sometimes a game in the back ground that I jump to when bored and once in awhile gimp2 for special texture editing. @EvalovesEP Maybe it's remembering something from the old site. I noticed at one time where on the old site it showed that I had X amount of followers but when looking at the same thing on the new site it showed that I had gained one so I started looking through the lists and finally found the reason why on the old site when someone was banned they are removed from your list and removed from everywhere else unless you come across their name in a thread on the new site it doesn't do that and you gain that one back again.

Hide contents 2 The "followers" are NOT bi-directional like "Friends" were. In your list, you have the ones that are following you and the ones you are following. Your first line shows a member that is following you, but you are not following him/her. So you have the button "Follow member" to start following him/her. The other lines are for members that you are following (and they may be following you also.)
Content Consumer Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Is there a way to insert tables (from excel and/or ms word) into posts in a readable format? Like, complete with column and row separators? I have an excel file with my CCAS scenario information that I want to use on the CCAS download page when I update, but copy/paste doesn't quite work.

The only forum engin I know which can do this is SMF. I don't think that this forum engine has these tags. I may be wrong of course...

I thought it might of had some connection with the oddity regarding the followers count.

No offense CPU, but this new system is confusing. Maybe it isn't for others, but it is to me. "Friends" system was much simpler. It has option to confirm if someone wants to be my LL friend or if I wanted to be someone else's friend. And there was option to block any friendship. Being followed and following someone makes extra "work" I have to ask certain person via PM if he wants to be my follower. In previous system if I added the person as LL friend who doesn't want me as his friend, he simply remove himself from friendship. There are some things in the old system that were better then this one although I love the new site. The only thing that I'm afraid of is the one day I will see the public message that we returned to the old site. I will accept it for I LOVE LL. Sorry for openness but had to get it off my chest. EDIT: Forgot to mention the another little annoying thing: Updating the Blog section on forum's OP. Is really needed to us to know that some blogs that we do not follow got the comment?! "Thanks" to that updating, I missed to see some blog entries because the site updates the entries with new comments. Those who follows certain blogs already receive the notification in the notification bar. This is just doubling same thing. Let's just keep the old system; new blog entry, new notification on the forum's OP. That will do.

I believe the old site was a bit faster. I did find part of my problem. Right at the time the site was moving my hot spot tablet did a software/firmware update and made changes to my network setting that I was unaware of. After close to an hour on the phone with Sprint, we found the problem. The update wasn't suppose to make the changes but it did. And the settings were part of the my tablet's OS I was also unaware of. I would have never found the problem without Sprints tech support. I am back up to speed as before but just not as good as it once was. I guess progress has its downside.
RitualClarity Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Get used to it... now that net neutrality has died... No problems on the testing. I haven't uploaded much of anything since the change so I wanted to know what it was like, was it faster, same or slightly slower. I am getting slightly slower speeds but in general I am getting slightly slower speeds everywhere (well most everywhere) now anyway so I can't point to LL as being the case for my slight slow down. It is functional and as far as I can tel uploads correctly (no dropped files or corrupted files) so It is still good.
Sorceress99 Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I have a request to increase the maximum file size to 250mb and to accept 7zip's split files. I have to manually separate the files into allowable sizes instead of letting 7zip split them up evenly. It also makes it much easier for people to merge 7zip's files rather than a hodge-podge of various files. A 200mb file still uses 200mb of storage no mater how it's split so I don't see a viable reason for limiting the max size to the 100mb it is now. I also request (again) that a line be added showing who is viewing the topic and a download counter be placed next to an uploaded file and the size of the file please. I have asked this before without a definitive reply.

I do miss some of the old site's functions like a download counter, files size and who is viewing the topic as I mentioned above. And having expandable thumbnails like before. I do like the extra emoticons although I do agree they are like childish. There are some very nice emoticons available a well as some animated ones. Otherwise, I like the new site overall.
