RaceCompatibility should have an install option for Sacrosanct as well, which means it works similarly to configuring it for Better Vampires. I think also similarly, the load order of mods and plugins should be about the same. Though one of the other issues you might have, is if Sacrosanct still edits the vanilla Vampire races, which would cause issue with Yiffy Age.

The problem is Im 100% sure it was like it is now and it still didn't work. But felt the urge to make a new character and boom it worked
Kuroyami Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 More of the book relevant to Fume's quest. Of Nature, Law, and Death Spoiler The time in which these events seem to take place, seems to be one more tolerant of magic. At least, many involved in the tale see magic as a complex art, and wherein it's users give it intention, not the magic itself baring intent by itself. A young Nord girl by the name of Reja is discovered at an early age to have a talent for magic, and as per her burgeoning interest, is taken to the College of Winterhold to study the magical arts. She is seen as a promising mage by her instructors, and within ten years, is one of the College's best mages. Most found her willingness to study the art of Necromancy as, unusual. Rarely was it practiced among those in the College, but Reja wished to know of the art, purely for means of knowing what would be useful. Perhaps then, she had no intention of using the art for herself, despite not possessing the wish to seek evil ends with the form of magic, but she believed that understanding would benefit her in the future, though perhaps only as a reversal of the knowledge that the school of Restoration provided. Such as using the knowledge of both schools to improve her ability to heal wounds that have gone past most healing arts, and would need to be dealt with quickly - likely meaning that one would lose a limb, for example. With her knowledge, that may need never happen. Spoiler Her time at the College saw little conflict, the majority of the institution's instructors more willing to discuss theories or pick out fairly safe spots for experiments, rather than either argue with students, or outright bar them from some forms of study. Though the College did have rules against experiments on fellow students, few went against it in her time there, and most incidents where mere accidents, easily proven as such. In her fifteenth year at the College, on the day which the College itself held a party for Reja, who had within the last two preceding years, taken to instructing others in the use of magic, and she had just turned twenty-five on that day. She was among her peers - aquantenices, friends, instructors and the like. That day held little negative, only small incidents, such as a spilled mead or two, a face full of cake, and other such mishaps that can easily be laughed off. One thing made clear about that day, was a, consummation of the relationship she had built for some time. Not with a student, technically, but one of the College Guards. Kharez was a veteran of the Legion, and by most accounts had some ancestry in Skyrim, even though a Khajiit. His reasons for coming to the home of the Nords, beyond this ancestry, are unknown, but some believe his intentions was to study magic, though his somewhat timid personality made him wish for a, rather informal education on the arts, and to him, the idea that he could use his pre-existing training from the Legion, to protect the College, and learn magic at perhaps his own pace, was preferable to him. Spoiler In the days after, she considered just what she wished to do. She knew it some time ago, but her heart had become more than just her own, just as she thought, no, knew, that the felt the same way. One month later, she worked up the courage to ask him, to return with her to Windhelm, and meet her father. She believed it was foolish, that he would never approve. That no matter what Kharez was, he was not suitable for her. But the ingrained tradition made her want his approval. Perhaps she was willing to be rebellious, but deep down, she wanted the man she had respected since she was a girl, to accept the one she had come to love, just as she had. Spoiler When he looked up, she saw that his face was more grizzled that she remembered, but she knew it was him. Especially after his face softly stretched into a warm smile, as he stood - which he did so with almost no effort, his age seemingly not having caught up with him. He crossed the room, embracing his daughter, the questions able to wait, though this dredged up more fear in the back of her mind. Kissing her forehead as he released his still strong grip on her, he asked what brought her home. She blushed, and motioned to Kharez, who still stood just out of sight, beyond the door. She called for him to enter, and he entered with his hand gingerly grasping the sheath of his sword, as if to suggest something nefarious, but instead, he knelt with a small distance between him, and Reja's father, as she moved out of the way. The look on her face, as she realized what he was about to do, was something she hid from her father. Placing his unsheathed sword at his own feet, he kept his head down slightly, as he spoke. "As this one has done for some time at the College, Kharez offers his sword in protection of your beloved daughter, as he makes a humble, and yet bold request...to take her hand in marriage, in sight of the Divines." 1

Guest Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 @Blaze69 Any chance at maybe some snout variations? I like the pointy ones and definitely the larger eyes
Blaze69 Posted January 6, 2019 Author Posted January 6, 2019 2 hours ago, RussianPrince said: this is the most uncanny valley thing I've ever seen, and I'm helping with the Fallout 4 fox mod... The design is as good as it could get given the limitations of having to use the CITRUS Argonian head and morphs as a base. Creating a brand new head from scratch would probably end up looking better, but that would also mean having to recreate ALL chargen morphs and facial expressions/phonemes from scratch, and none of us is up for that task just yet. If you think it could be done better, I'd love to see that. Also what's wrong with the Vulpine race? I'll admit the overall head shape and the textures are a bit cartoony or at least not uber-detailed-realistic or whatever, but they are still pretty good and don't clash that much with the rest of the game. Plus, the only other anthro race mods for Fallout games (Imma talk about FNV here as there are none for FO4) are basically someone with a cheap fursuit head cartoony static head mesh ripped from one of the Star Fox games (exhibit A) and someone with a slightly-more-tolerable but still static and goofy face mask (exhibit B), so the Vulpine race is pretty much awesome by comparison. 31 minutes ago, RussianPrince said: Any chance at maybe some snout variations? I like the pointy ones and definitely the larger eyes Nightro just finished working on an edited eye morph file that makes them bigger, and also a tweak of the nose lenght slider that fixes it so it actually changes the snout length only instead of other stuff, so those two things may be feasible once I implement those changes to the TRI data. Still, feel free to post any other suggestions on morphs or shapes, and we may look into it if they are feasible. And if you have any specific references or pics on what you'd like, that would help as well.

Aesthetically they do take their place, but not "functionally", as the actual ears are different and included as detail on the normal map (not really visible unless you use bald or mohawk hair styles, though). Fin rings are already a thing, though there's only one mesh option with some texture variants for now. And more fin styles are planned, but they aren't exactly high priority so they may take a while to be done if they happen at all. 3 minutes ago, RussianPrince said: and no references yet but I'll see if I can find some I can't guarantee anything will be done with them, but at least if we do have reference material, there's a chance we may use it, so there's that.

To be fair, an anthropromorphic shark is very difficult to get right in 3D (especially the front angles) as opposed to 2D. Making it monster-like as opposed to beautifying it would also be easier. Not to mention the vanilla human head dome restraint. Something like a fox, or any k9 or feline for that matter is easy in comparison, and would consume much less time to make from scratch (at least it is for me).
Taven Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 5 hours ago, RussianPrince said: this is the most uncanny valley thing I've ever seen, and I'm helping with the Fallout 4 fox mod... Eh, to each their own. I believe they look rather good, considering where they were quite a few years ago.

This. Finding a 2D anthro shark design that I can definitely say looks good is pretty easy, but finding a 3D one is pretty much impossible (both because it's very hard to pull off and because there are barely any models out there). 11 hours ago, NightroModzz said: Making it monster-like as opposed to beautifying it would also be easier. Define "moster-like". Because depending on what it means, you could be also beautifying it at the same time, lol. 11 hours ago, NightroModzz said: Not to mention the vanilla human head dome restraint. I'm kinda starting to regret that decision. I mean, it did help a lot with headgear and with hairs and so on, but it also does limit the head shape even further. Then again, it's not like we can drop it altogether and make yet another new head at this point of development, can we? Plus, could getting rid of that constraint actually improve the shape? Maybe it's just because I'm used to the current shape, but I still don't see much room for improvement if we still use the CITRUS heads as a base.

More or less tough and scary looking. Something you see and assume you have to defeat. So I likely can if I wanted to. I know I still have to do that Khajiit Overhaul head update, but don't really feel like doing any mod work for a good while. Currently getting my feet wet with paper 2D game development with Photoshop, and may get Spine 2D. I even purchased 2 courses from Udemy. Also, still stuck on the leg topology for my model, but might be done with that part soon. Re-did a lot of areas and looks good up to the thighs. Just need to figure out how to connect the waist and butt while keeping good and clean topology. I tested the back of the leg/knee bend by rotating and smoothing it, and it seems like the deformation will be pretty accurate to RL.

Because if it's the former, we could give it a shot at some point if you wanted. If it's the latter, I guess if it's the latter we could ask MadMansGun about it instead, too. Quote Maybe when I work on the full body. But to be honest, not looking forward to more shark had editing. Hey, can't blame you for that. Quote I know I still have to do that Khajiit Overhaul head update, but don't really feel like doing any mod work for a good while. Same here, that's why I'm taking a break from Skyrim and playing (not just modding) FO4 instead. I think once YA 5.0 moves out of beta and into "official" release I'll put out a patch for the NPC plugin that updates the vanilla race characters to be 5.0 compliant, and may squeeze some other minor additions in there too, but apart from that I don't have any plans for this for the immediate future. That doesn't mean work on the mod is done, just that I'm taking a break from it.

It would definitely require different seams, but have no intentions of doing it. I was just stating that it would be easier to make an anthro shark monster as opposed to what you would expect a nice to the eye playable anthro shark race to be.
Kuroyami Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 A bit of dialog for Fume. Spoiler [PC] [Global - PlayerKnowFumeSailor=1] Can you tell me about your time as a Sailor? | F - It is just like any similar group, in that the time spent never, leaves you. It becomes a part of who and what you are, even if you cast off the physical trappings. In my case, I have not. Though most Selachii keep a claim to their service, in that leaving does not mean you lose your rank - no matter where or how far you go, or for how long. | [PC] Why did you become a sailor? | F - Legacy. Though it was still my choice, and I had no one who was going to look upon me in shame if I did not. Still, I followed their legacy, because it was something that I knew could lead to a stable life, even with the rigors of training and having to serve my race, but otherwise, I would not have had it nearly as, easy. | [PC] Did something happen to your parents? | F - They left on a voyage, though by now I forget where. When they were due to return, a different ship arrived a week later with the news that, their ship had been lost to a storm. A friend of mine, who was already a sailor, gave me the news, along with a customary sum of silver from the Council. | F - The intention was that I would join shortly before coming of age, but in light of those events, I pledged my service at a younger age than normal, which is rare, but not unheard of, and started training a few months later. I was respected for that, but not coddled, or given merits I had not earned. [PC] How rigorous is this training? | F - The scars may have been healed by this point, due to magic, but a few I still remember. | F - I took a dagger to the back once, which I was told later, just missed my spine. Even worse, was that the blade was poisoned. You might think you would make a noise when that happens, but you do not. | F - One of the pirates I have fought, had this large Nord, who favored a ridiculously large battleaxe. He had a certain idea on, how one fights, and did not like the fact that one my fellow sailors took a shot with a bow, and killed his captain. We might have considered giving him the chance to surrender, but you have likely heard how they take that. | F - It was after he managed to knock one sailor to the ground, her sword too far to reach, and he brought that monstrosity down on her face. Which, in spite of what I have seen otherwise, was one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen, for two reasons. When he tried to fight me, I was quicker. Though he did almost manage to cut my tail off, but fortunately just broke the skin. [PC] What is your rank called? | F - Effectively? Captain. A simple consideration, but it also makes clear to both the one holding this rank, and those who know it, that they have the honor of commanding a ship. There are a few below this, though being called "sailor" or "senin" in or language, is something that never stops. [PC] Do you have to take any, vows? | F - Other than a promise to protect and serve our race, no. [PC] Why is the armor not fully protective? | F - It protects mostly vital areas. Other than that, our skin has a natural resistance to damage, and we also take little to no issue with freezing climates as well. Hence perhaps not having any winter or seasonal armor. We do have more common clothes for different times of the year, but it is not a strict tradition, though some see it that way. | F - Though on the subject of the armor, I have taken a few arrows in these uncovered places, but not too often. Always hurts like a bitch pulling it out, but I usually manage. 1
Kuroyami Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 Nothing specific at the moment, but an explanation of a few things I'm planning, considering, etc. Spoiler -A quest for Gaku: As it stands, the idea is that after you hear a certain amount of the race's backstory from him(though I'm not yet sure how much that will be), you will have the option of asking to learn more. This leads him to tell you of another source, where you can find some more, complex details. Other than going for spoiling more, my thinking is that it will involve a moderately sized Nordic ruin, though I'm not sure where in Skyrim or on Solstheim the exterior might work, and the idea is for it to have a similar atmosphere as Miraak's temple, though perhaps a bit heavier, like some of the later areas using some of the Apocrypha assets, and all the water in the cell would be the black slimy water, instead of the usual(though none of the tentacles that damage and/or throw you out of the books). Additionally, the enemies might be the Apocrypha corrupted Selachii I mentioned a while ago, their origins possibly being Selachii who did choose to invade Tamriel with the Tsaesci during the 2nd Era. May have to really think about that though, both from a lore and asset standpoint - the armor being there, but I'm not sure about a sort of, corrupted version that might be at least colored differently, etc. -Added two Argonian characters to the Vanilla Race Characters entry, Mujeen and Keeko, which I have to think more about. The most I'm sure of at this point, is that they both have a connection to the Dark Brotherhood, and they are both related. -Also an addition to the above mentioned entry, a Khajjit character, Bezur, who may have a part in a story relating to Kokushi. I'm thinking he(Bezur), may have been a Pirate at one point, and it was some time ago when Kokushi followed him to the Sea of Ghosts, where they had their inevitable confrontation, and he, along with his Selachii companion, become one of very few to inherit a similar power as Kokushi - though I might reconsider that last part, especially if I think about making him appear in-game. -I've had a thought, concerning Mizuno. That being, perhaps at some point, depending on a few factors, he would actually return to the College. Obviously this might require the player to at least join the College(i.e not specifically doing the First Lessons quest, other than getting it), as otherwise him returning there just makes him inaccessible as a follower, should you dismiss him. Other than that, it may require one of two things - either speaking to Lana at some point, with the player having completed Mizuno's quest, and having him as a follower, for the two to get some, reconciliation. The obvious thing to do would be one of those scenes, but there may be other avenues. Although, if you get to the Imperial side conclusion of the Civil War, the option will not be available(due to both the dialog and the possible scene being awkward, given the situation), and you would need to speak with her in Sovngarde to relay their words - meaning you have spoken with Mizuno a bit, and essentially giving yourself a personal quest to mend the situation. "I know I cannot fix this problem, not entirely. But I can help the wounds mend." There would be some issues with the College, obviously. Especailly if one doesn't use the College addon(at least how it exists at this point, I can't say how it may change, if at all, in the future). Though if one does, I'd guess it may be possible to either swap a second bed in that room, along with a few other changes to the room for better spacing, or simply just have him use the bedroll. Believe me, I'd have them sharing a bed if it was possible in-game(other than the double bed, of course). 1
