DarnHyena Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Recently tried it out again, wonderful job on the updates since! Downside though, while in the racemenu, I kept getting crashed by random hairdos, and I don't know yet if that was just a fluke as it loaded them in for the first time, or if that might cause problems later on

Did you make sure to download and install the latest version as of right now?

I've not run into the hair crashing issue again yet, so might of just been a fluke hopefully, though I did just have my whole body disappear when I was messing with the body fat slider and then crashed when I tried to reload the save v:
Voldearag Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 I was actually trying to be supportive of Nightro for choosing to drop that, "Don't worry, I like your decision." I'm not thriving on anyone's disappointment. And I dislike everything I can see about absol's design, the flat bald face, the asymmetrical obvious sickle stuck on its head, the very styled sidebang hair thing. I think it's the hardest pokemon for me to take seriously. I didn't know that avatar had anything made for it already.

Just don't go crazy with it and you should be good to go. 57 minutes ago, Voldearag said: I was actually trying to be supportive of Nightro for choosing to drop that, "Don't worry, I like your decision." I'm not thriving on anyone's disappointment. Don't think he needs any support, everything he's done so far has been by his own volition and while we're immensely grateful for it, he owes us nothing. Don't need any reason to say "no" or any support for doing so, it's not like he's being paid for it or anything. Just my two cents. It did come off as a bit rude, though, regardless of the original intention. 57 minutes ago, Voldearag said: And I dislike everything I can see about absol's design, the flat bald face, the asymmetrical obvious sickle stuck on its head, the very styled sidebang hair thing. I think it's the hardest pokemon for me to take seriously. We are all entitled to our opinions, but I think Absol is by far not "the hardest pokemon to take seriously", there are much worse ones around (Voltorb, anyone?). Personally I like the sickle and the asymmetry, as well as the bang (and the ying-yang look they obviously went for), and while I do agree the head is indeed too bland and even anime-like, that's nothing that can't be fixed in "post", i.e. going for a more beastly (probably feline) head instead of sticking to the original design only when making artwork or 3D models. In fact IIRC when the project was still being worked on, one of my ideas for the head until we made a new custom one from scratch (or even instead of it) was to use the YA Panther heads and textures as a base and add the hair/mane and the extra parts on top of them, maybe adding some shape tweaks as well. So it would definitely have been more feline and less... bald than the default design. Still, not much sense discussing this anymore because as we said, the project was dropped. Can't say I wouldn't reconsider it if it was actually feasible at some point, but there's several planned projects already that would take preference over it anyway (assuming they are done in the first place ).
Bad Dog Posted May 26, 2019 Author Posted May 26, 2019 @DarnHyena if you can isolate it to a particular hair I can look. I haven't seen the problem in a while tho.

That looks pretty cool, shame it was dropped tho.

Well, doesn't seem to have occurred again since, so I think it might of just been a fluke in trying to load the hair in for the first time.

I just think it's one of those designs that don't look good as an anthro, or very difficult to make. Or furry, not sure which term to use. Blaze69 always complains when I use that term and says "make it less anthro." I use anthro just to refer to furries, scalies, etc in general (human, plantigrade, digitigrade shaped feet, and etc stuff excluded).
Voldearag Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Also Voltorb is easy to take seriously, there's evidence and history to where it came from. It's a cyborg experiment pokemon made by those scientist trainers in the first games. Like Grimer it's one of the creatures spawned from human mischief. I think Voltorb are actually pretty eerie and intriguing, being big metal pokeball shapes that are animals inside makes you think about what strange ideas the scientists who made them had. All we saw was them being used to produce electricity for a giant radio signal thing, but that was a short operation and they weren't being made there. I wonder what base pokemon the scientists used when making Voltorbs.

It's like a haunted pokeball but in the style of terrifying biotech. Absol looks like an adoptable, complete with the hair gel and edgy glower. Edit: Okay maybe those characteristics are pretty common in Pokemon.

Because going after appearance seems to be your thing? Perhaps your just a genwunner that goes after any non gen1 pokemon that is somewhat popular.

I just think it's one of those designs that don't look good as an anthro, or very difficult to make. I mean, IMO pretty much anything can be anthrofied without the result looking extremely bad if you are halfway talented (not "good", just "not very bad"), but it's true doing it right and/or doing it on weird designs/species/objects cranks up the difficulty a fair bit. In this case I think the design is simple and "standard feral"-y enough that it isn't hard to anthrofy, but the original head/face design makes artists go for an "anime (human) face" look and that makes it feel like one of those cheap *insert thing here*-chan memes instead (they have a name but I can't remember it right now). Or at least that's the feeling I get from the Absol art I've found so far. Quote Or furry, not sure which term to use. Blaze69 always complains when I use that term and says "make it less anthro." I use anthro just to refer to furries, scalies, etc in general (human, plantigrade, digitigrade shaped feet, and etc stuff excluded). I like to use the word "anthro" for "sapient humanoid non-human being", while leaving "furry" for "someone that likes anthro characters and considers themselves part of the furry fandom" (e.g. me). But the latter is widely used to also mean the former and this separation is just something I do for the sake of clarity, so I guess that use would still be right. I don't recall ever saying "less anthro" but I probably said something like "less human" or "less humanoid". Maybe you mixed them up? I mean, "anthro" does mean "human(oid)", originally, even if we use it for something that is basically non-human, so maybe there's something there? 2 hours ago, Voldearag said: Voltorb Okay, I walked right into that one, didn't I? This just proves my point about opinions, I find it difficult to take it seriously while you don't, and at the same time the opposite applies to Absol. And that's fine and dandy, as it's your opinion and you are entitled to it. Just try not to sound like you are happy about a mod not being finished/made and people not having access to it and it should be fine. 2

Voldearag Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 ^ If anyone still feels inclined to make a Skyrim sergal, please, dammit please, try to make them anatomically accurate. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27129922/ They're not just anthros, they're a full blown species! I think they're pretty cool.
Bad Dog Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 Y'guys know that at the end of a battle about which pokemon is most ridiculous none of you have any credibility left, right? Meanwhile: Working on a YA update that will clean up the female dog heads (not Lykaios, which I did already). Got stupid and cleaned up a bunch of the mesh which meant I had to redo the scars as well as the mouths. Result is mostly okay but not perfect. Might ought to have another look at those tris. Split the dog tris from the cat tris to deal with the longer muzzle but made the mistake of starting with the foxes, which actually have the shortest muzzles. As usual the rule is start with the longest and scale down, not with the shortest and scale up, because that just exaggerates any anomalies. Then I found some stupidities in hair textures which I'll fix before turning this loose. Also too working on some skimpy armor fixes for Immersive Armors. No plan, just fixing things as they show up in game: Spoiler Gotta say that Immersive Armor shit is a total mess. They just stacked armor up on top of each other. Then some bits were deleted but not cleanly so there are lots of random faces scattered about. Making it skimpier means dealing with layers and layers, without losing the uniqueness of each armor. That brigand armor took ages. But what they hey, it's all for fun anyway. 8

Ghost Wolf Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Yep, like here I am playing around with mods, seeing which ones work superb with Yiffy Age. Aside from Paradise Halls (Molag Bal told me to do it >.<), Estrus/Estrus Chaurus/Estrus Spider/ I'm guessing Estrus Dwemer too, they work well with Yiffy Age lol Devious Devices-Integration, Devious Devices-Assets, and Kyne's Blessing might work, but I have a crappy laptop so they cause the game to freeze... so hey, if you want to egg your females, Estrus Chaurus, Estrus Spider, and Estrus Dwemer are there... just make sure you install Estrus too lol Anyway...
KestrelSky Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 Man I go on vacation and I miss all the fun stuff LOL

Bad Dog Posted June 3, 2019 Author Posted June 3, 2019 Gotta say, I am having the best time flying around Skyrim as a winged leopard. Sometimes I grab one of the birds for a companion, but I'm running as a thief so mostly not.
ithinkicould.idontknow Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Anyone have good Breton/fox lady presets, idk if its my pc but the foxes look way more square than what they looked in YA1.0/2.0, or is it because they got swapped from high elves to breton than their tri files got changed too?
bd99 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Good evening BadDog, I'm having an issue with loading when I try to visit highly populated areas. I run a fairly middle of the pack to crappy pc with integrated graphics (sue me) so I completely understand if its a hardware issue but I've been trying my damnedest to make a workout. So far I have edited the INI in different ways, installed the 2k texture pack, and have played the waiting game to see if it'll ever load. I have a sneaking suspicion its either a high density of NPC's or custom props from the mod that make the load times take so long but I have no idea how to decrease the stresses on my machine. I've also tried just waiting it out and letting myself sit on a load screen but I've never made it past 20 minutes before alt+f4'ing outta there to try changing a load order up or browse the web for files or fixes. Do you have any suggestions past run it on a better piece of equipment? Thank you for your time and for your wonderful free mod! 1
bd99 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Nvm, after delving deep into the archives of the internet I have finally found my fix. Here it is for future visitors: Safety Load - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46465/ 1
