A few things I just need to type so I can get it off my chest, so to speak... all rhetorical questions, btw.

 

Whenever I insert a frigging emoji on here, then do a typo and hit backspace, it deletes some frigging letter several away (appears to be about 8 characters) from where the cursor should be (yeah, I should prob report that as a site bug, but meh...)

 

Modder n. Any person who modifies (mods) their game, be that through developing a modification themselves, or just installing one.

 

Why does it seem so many (I live over in the Sims 3 realm on here) modders don't seem to GAF about actually learning how to f**king mod their games and just give up after 1 piss-poor attempt w/o spending any time reading previous posts, or doing searches online?  Gaaaaahhhhhh!  ?!  It's easier to do a google search than create an account on here to do a 1st post just to ask how to fix something that is easily found on several sites, if they only tried.  I could understand this more for new games, but (as I said) not for something that's been around for a dozen (or more) years and has thousands of pages of information.  If this old fart can read, then the "new kids" can read too.  Shoot!  I wasn't raised with a frigging smartphone in my hand and I can find crap.  There isn't a person alive who cannot figure this ? out.... unless we're talking graphics, then that needs actual artistic skill.

Rimworld is being stupid. I keep searching and tweaking, and tweaking and searching (but no twerking!) and then something else breaks. If I can get implants to install while preparing then pawns don't want to do specific jobs when right clicking and furniture suddenly won't deselect and has no options. If implants don't work then furniture might work, omfg this is just really starting to piss me off. The game is damn addicting when you reduce the psycho mood swings crap, but getting everything to actually work...I spend 1/3rd of my time either going through colony setup again to test if things are working, 1/3rd playing and praying things won't break, and 1/3rd playing something else to destress from trying to get Rimworld working.

But this? There's NO reason at all to include more powerful women in the story, unless he adapted the story WRONG.

Lady Jessica in the book is good as she is presented. I was 11 or 12 when I first red the book and I was blown away by how really good Jessica was portrayed. She is strong and has her flaws, but she wasn't in every one's face about it. That would be against her character and her philosophy. She won't push her views on to others and she explains quite succintly early in the first book that she would not undermine Duke Leto in any way. To alter that, which I had already suspected they will due to the early hype about Jessica, is to dramatically alter the story and the theme of the book.

 

Whatever people say about Kevin J Anderson's and Brian Herbert's works in the Dune universe, at least they would be against woke for the sake of woke. They do a pretty good job of writing women and diversity as it is.

Follow  the source materials.. that is all that is needed. I remember the days when the here  were adapted due to technical difficulties and such not to change sexes of the characters to fit political agendas. Do the stoy, if someone decides they need stronger characters or x,y,z, then write a story with the stronger characters and x,y,z in it. Simple as that.
