I know a new save might be the official sollution, but does anyone know a way to get the innkeepers to offer 'working girl' on an existing (savegame-cleaned) save?

@Kimy Just made it the second time out of jail. Because it is important for gamers using mods like Skyrim Reputation sometimes I investigate the crime sheet in the game menu. After escaping the Dragonar Prison for Women, there is no counter for Days Jailed, Times Jailed and Jail Escapes. I like the Dragonar Prison, because it is important now, to be undeteced if you are commiting a crime.  Great Job.

It would be great if the three mentioned counters are still used.

Happy coding and of course happy gaming :D

kind regards

Rogwar

can someone tell me if there is anyway to change all settings in dcl to default? i may have messed up with settings too much and now instead of events taking place, i keep getting keys and charms

You could start a new game which would load all default settings for DCL, then export the settings, then load up your chosen game, and import the settings there.

I was just curious about the walk of shame/belt of shame quests, are they still in the mod?  I ask because I have not yet seen in happen in any version since 8.0, how do you trigger it?

So I just stumbled upon the cursed collar, sitting on a small shelf in a fort's prison (Exposed, not inside any container). When aiming at it, it said E will "Activate" it (rather than open or loot or whatever default message you get when picking things from the ground), and activating it starts the cursed collar quest. Is this collar a leftover from some old times where this mission couldn't come at random, or did I mess something up to make it spawn on that shelf, and until I pick it I won't get it again? (I didn't want to pick it at the time because I don't like doing that mission when my map is too empty yet).

---

Totally unrelated: Today I got the rubber doll collar on that save for the first time, and I got it killed before it ever expended (was during the part before the first dragon and I didn't feel like popping with an armbinder in a critical moment XD).

For as long as it was just the collar on me, the quest progression remained 0 on all stages. As soon as the collar fell, the quest was started and complete at the same time (intended behavior, far as I can tell). I checked the status to see that stages 0, 10 and 100 are complete (and the middle stages are 0).

Since I want this quest to be replayable, I tried to setobjectivecompleted for each stage that became one back to 0. It had no effect at all (sqs still showed "1" in stages 0, 10 and 100), reloaded save just in case...

I tried to setstage to 0, but that started the quest (this time, without autocompletion, but I also didn't have the collar so this is probably bad), reloaded save again.

I tried to resetquest. It seemed to work at the time as all stages (in sqs) now showed 0 and the quest didn't start. However, a few hours later, I got the rubber doll collar again, and as soon as I clicked OK on this message that I wake up and feel a collar, the collar quest started, then ended, and then the collar disappeared right away. Sqs at that point again showed that stages 0, 10 and 100 are complete.

Any ideas how CAN I make that collar quest replayable?

I'm not sure anything for rubber doll, but the cursed collar on the shelf has been there long as I can remember playing DCL, one of my destinations for the quest last time I did it (from random activation in either the last 7 or maybe as late as 8.0) was actually in the room with the collar in it and it was still just sitting there waiting for someone to try and pick it up.

After you collected all stuff, you need to talk to the guard nearest to kitchen. The journal should tell what step you are on or if you really collected all that you needed. If you have a gag in your mouth then it means you didn't talk yet. It will open a regular cooking recipe list when working right.

Thanks for your help. It was actually the case that the cooking really didn't work. The cooking recipe list didn't trigger at the usage of the cooking station. Weird.

I started a new game and there, the station worked as expected.

Still don't know how to escape, though.

After the third day, it gets really tedious. Can't find a rope... ?

You can't find a rope? I couldn't find the place where I am supposed to USE that rope ?

You get the rope from:

friendly prisoners. Just try to talk to them and hope you aren't caught and that they feel like helping.

Anyone else having the public indecency punishment "I will arrest you and take you to prison" simply not works? It is the 3rd time in this relatively new save that it happens (out of 3 times). The guard just says this and goes away. I waited 100 seconds in case I just had lag or something, but nothing happened...

This only happens for public indecencies, such as getting caught during rape. The prison works fine if I am caught doing a vanilla crime (pickpocket, etc.) or combat surrender.

Found a solution to my own question about the rubber doll quest. Do nothing special after the quest was completed, just leave it in its completed state. When you get the collar again, setstage to 0. The quest will trigger immediately (which is different than the original time where it triggers only once you get the suit. An improvement, in my opinion, because this way you are already immune to DCL events which might lock away some spots for the dollification), but will work correctly and start growing the rubber on you and so on.

The above was done in a case where the collar was originally killed before the quest could begin. Will test it the next time I am lucky enough to get the collar after this (because now I plan to complete it fully).

---

Unrelated, I started encountering a problem more and more that when I am bound and am about to be raped, more often than not, instead of starting an animation the rape event stops.

Example: I have a straightjacket and chastity belt. Rapist removes the belt, waits a few seconds and teleports back to his original location. I am free to move again and I don't have the belt anymore.

Reloaded save - rapist this time chose to add gag and boots, again waited and then teleported away and I am free to move.

Reloaded save - 2 rapists this time. First one removes the belt and successfully does an animation, it's supposed to be the second's turn, but instead, they both disappear and I am free to move, and the belt is still gone.

Reloaded save - 1 rapist finally worked correctly and I continued my game.

I am assuming all these missed animations were due to the game having trouble picking an animation, any idea why could it happen?

Question No. 1:

The collar is correct on the shelf. It always was.

Question No. 2:

The rubberdollcollar is able to equip as often as the trigger for the event is happening. The quest will automatically start only once. The script does not have an automatic repeat function. You have to do it as you did. setstage 0x065666 0 or startquest 0x065666 will do the trick. If you don´t use the console, you will be stuck in a never expanding pink collar, you don´t have a key for.

What?!? What?!?

Not in a vanilla game maybe. But there are a lot of mods to fix that problem, a lot of choices.

I rarely have any money in Skyrim. If the follower didn't get it, the post-rape thieves, or the guards did (crime bounties).

And I don't get much to start with, because vendors cheat me.

Plus houses cost more, carriages cost more, room rental costs more (more even than default DF), food costs more.

Plus additional expenses, such as soap, gate tolls, device removal, ingredients to recover from sexual wear and tear, and so on.

I can't loot a lot because my carry capacity is bad, and gold is heavy.

I can't make money through crafts, or make everything myself, because FMEA makes learning those skills expensive and dangerous.

For me, the only way to buy a house before about level 40 is to borrow money.

And to get to level 40, I have to spend money on training.

However, I don't use a full paid-training only model (I use a hybrid), it's a major part of my advancement.

I don't have a gold rush around level 40, because I tune my follower accordingly, and training expenses also get extreme later on.

Plus, did I mention I can't loot much and vendors give me bad prices?

I also like to start with no skills, spells or gear.

With no house, I don't have a reserve of spare gear to fall back on when I get robbed.

But look at it another way... Why would anyone use solicitation if they had money to spare?

For me, the main reason to use solicitation is to raise money to pay an inn fee, so a follower can sleep - to fix the follower's bad mood.

Not that the PC doesn't need sleep too, but a cranky follower steals a lot of money off you by "miscounting".

It's probably true that players would use a devious loan shark just for the peril of it, especially if there was even a tiny bit of quest content hidden behind it.

It's like asking how often players go to prison. Vanilla prison ... not much ... but Dragonar, PoP and Devious Cidhna, of course they go.

Hmm, really like the sound of that! Mee too, I‘m on a quest to find mods that make the game more difficult for my devious playthroughs. Would you mind sharing your load order? Mefinks I could learn a few things from you.

If I don't cheat (console player.additem f xxxx), I often run short of cash early in the game (up to about level 20). After that, money is no object.

No need for that.  Just take a walk in the wilderness, kill some wolves, elk, deer and of course loot them. Also stop by and mine all the iron.  Get back to Riverwood, turn the ore into iron (will need a mod to put a smelter in Riverwood) and the hides into leather and leather strips and make some armor or weapons (improve them too) which you can sell to Alvor and Lucan.  Also collect all the alchemy ingredients and stop into the Sleeping Giant where you can make them into potions you can sell to Lucan.

Once you've done a little of that you can buy the raw materials to make more, repeat until you aren't so strapped for cash.

If Lucan and Alvor are out of gold or raw materials then save your game and exit.  Then restart your game and reload, both will have refreshed their inventory.  You can also wait two days in game instead and they'll reset their inventories as well.

It covers a lot of stuff, is still running, and somewhere in the middle there are a bunch of really long posts by me that discuss what mods I was using, how I set them up, and why - and, of course, there's (even more) commentary from others there too, that covers the same sorts of things. It's a good starting point for "hard" gaming, including lots of anecdotes about what worked or didn't work.

It will help you a lot more than a list from my MO (where the names are all mine), or a list of ESPs you have to look up, and which is part useless because of my merges.

What you do with a mod like SkyTweak or SLD matters a lot more than the decision to use it, because either mod can turn your game upside down.

But... for simply poverty functionality, SexLab Adventures, SexLab Survival, and Scarcity are good starting points.

I also have some mod that changes carriage prices, but there are several, and inn prices, I use the classic Realistic Room Rental - Enhanced.

DF is a great cash sink of course.

And Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) is key to stopping crafting profits. You will probably need to buy potions or alchemy ingredients if you want them. You will need to spend a lot on training before you dare try using the skills.

This approach is basically impossible with FMEA.

Spoiler

And with a "weak start" you can't kill wolves or deer at low level. They kill you!

A skill 0 character with no spells, base 50 health, 50 stamina, 0 magicka, reduced attack damage and speed can't fight a pack of wolves. Not even if she has a sword - and where would she get something like that? She'd have to pick it up off a corpse killed by an NPC, because she wouldn't own one to start with, would have trouble affording one, and wouldn't be allowed to carry one in the city without being heftily fined. So chances are you have a dagger, or a stick. You don't leave town to go kill animals, you leave town to go to a different town with a cheaper inn and more customers, and you take an escort - and you pray that escort is strong enough, because you won't be... The best you can do is help them a bit.

If you really want pain in your game ... play with Wounds in the mix. It's a bit too hard really, unless you want to be forced into a game that is mainly prostitution and thieving. Once you get caught out in the open, without your heavy armor (due to devices, or a robber, or whatever) you will be shredded by any animal attack - after they've finished having their way with you, you wake up, probably in the Slave Auction, and you have three broken bones, numerous deep cuts that can fester, and concussion so you can barely see or think. You will take game-weeks to recover, probably by that point your Apropos W&T will be maxed out, and you'll need several more weeks rest, or an awful lot of spider eggs, before you can go on an adventure - which will probably end very badly :)

Even if you tune it down - a lot - wounds is a massive game changer, and makes any build that isn't based on wearing heavy armor extremely perilous.

As for alchemy, that will probably end up with you blinded, or arrested for blowing up the town. That's if you can harvest any ingredients without making yourself seriously ill, or getting raped by a many-tentacled plant-monster.

A small reminder that pelts have much more value when you have Realistic Needs and Diseases 2.0, by default they are quite worthless. I think wolf skin sells for 70 gold or so with it.

I think he's converting them into leather and then making leather armor, then selling that.

Not that leather armor is worth much to a vendor in my game :)

It would depend on speech skill, and how mean your vendors are.

I've upgraded my DCL from 8.2 to 8.3 in a running game, and as a result my DCL has lost some of its mojo.

I don't get any new dialog features in inns. At all.

And I'm being sent to vanilla prisons, despite having Dragonar enabled.

I don't have PoP installed because - I had DCL 8.2 - installing PoP would have been pointless at the time.

Is 8.2 to 8.3 not a viable upgrade?

Works for me. Punch a guard or do something with a high bounty. Dragonar is for the really bad girls...

Maybe... But I was going there before.

I didn't change the probability to go to prison, so without POP installed, the feature should work exactly as in 8.2.

If one person has a problem, that's just Skyrim. If everyone has it...

I guess nobody else is mentioning it.

I mentioned page or 2 back, same issue as you did. No inn dialogs after updating from 8.2. I did no attempts to clean the save or uninstalling 8.2.

Make sure Solicitation option is ON in DCL. Make sure that you are not a Virgin. Make sure to solicitate your character at least two to three times. After that - wait two minutes than make a savegame, reload your savegame. Dialogue option will appear from Innkeeper: "Is there a job opportunity for a working girl?". Worked that way for me in The Bannered Mare, speaking to Hulda. <- this is after updating DCL v8.2 to v8.3 - no problems whatsoever.

Edit: Also i did not clean my savegame. There was no need doing that for me.
