Nope! I've been on a modding hiatus as of late, thus new content has been put on hold. I'm planning on resuming Soon(ish), though!

I'm having an issue with getting the Devious Devices (all of them, oddly enough) to appear on my character as well as my followers.  I've had this issue for some time now and figured it was just something I was doing wrong or something.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled all the Devious mods I have (Assets, Integrated, Expansion and Helpless) and still cannot attach them.  I go to the Captured Dreams shop and I see the people who are supposed to wear them wearing them, but I haven't messed with anything in the shop itself.  I'm not sure what to do at this point since I don't have anything that seems to be interfering with the Devious Devices mods.

Anyone else having this issue or am I the only lucky guy who has this issue?  I have all the required mods for each of the mods mentioned before it is asked.  If need be I can PM the list of mods I have activated and such in hopes of getting some additional help.

Edit:  Also, when I attempt to use them, they don't do the animations either.  Nothing shows and nothing animates.

 

Edit 2:  I am unsure if anyone has answered my question, so I'll ask that if someone reads this and knows the issue, please PM me with a possible fix.  Thanks.

Please, can the devious devices be made Essential (immune) so that they don't degrade over time (damaged by being hit). The reason being the capacity for this to happen was introduced by "Loot and Degradation" (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55677/).

That would depend entirely on how LaD filters items. If we'd have to make LaD a requirement, then i can pretty much garuentee we won't be doing that, it's features does not really offer DD anything it needs, almost the opposite i'd say, so we'd not want to force it's use.

 

If it just needs some bog-standard Skyrim keyword set, and that doesent cause any other problems, then it's something we could do, but otherwise, no, it'd really be up to the LaD Dev(s) to filter out mods like DD from their system, not the other way around.

I am also having trouble getting the objects to display on my character. The animations work, but the objects do not appear. For example, my character puts her arms together as if wearing an armbinder, but there is nothing there. Here is my Papyrus log. Let me know if this should be posted in another forum.

It would likely require the "Essential" keyword (on the items) to make the item 'immune'. Though downloading and examining one of the altered unique items with the modification using the CK. Will likely confirm or otherwise provide the required keyword(s).

I am using LaD, but didn't consider this as a problem. Of course, if you are allowing your weapons and armors to actually break, then it might become one.

I only allow them to degrade from tempering, because enemies do not get their armors and weapons broken.

Of course this gives us an interesting choise, if getting beaten by enemy sword will crush the iron bra and set you free from it.

Hi, I'm having a problem with the armbinders and I don't know what's causing it. Whenever I equip one, there is a sound (the dropping item sound) that plays every second or so. At the start of the game it wasn't doing this, do you know what could be the cause of this?

Yes, you have a mod installed.. i can't remember what it's called right now, it's right on the tip of my tongue.. so annoying.

 

Anyway, it's a combat mod, and by default it changes something about unarmed equipping which causes this bug. The mod has an MCM option to turn off that feature, using that option will resolve the issue.

My combat mods are Deadly Combat and Combat Evolved and also  ASIS and SPERG to some extent. The mod that I installed mid playthrough was SPERG, I haven't tried disabling SPERG altogether, since I already typed this out I'll go do that right now but I'll post this anyway. I hope you'll be able to help me, armbinders are half the fun :P

 

Okay, so I uninstalled SPERG and the issue went away it seems, do you know if it's possible to keep SPERG and fix this?

In the SPERG MCM, under Compatibility (I think) set Unarmed Mode to Manual. That will stop the sound.

 

SPERG has "fists" that equip to give you an unarmed damage boost. By default they're set to equip automatically whenever your weapons are unequipped. Armbinders forcibly remove weapons and keep you completely unarmed. So SPERG is trying to equip fists and either failing and then retrying without end, or the armbinder is removing them each time, making SPERG equip them again, and again, and again.

 

If you set it to Manual it stops this cycle. You'll get fists appear in your inventory instead and will need to manually equip them if you ever want to take advantage of the damage boost.

Wow, you guys are wizards :D I want to thank both you and Coopervane for the extremely fast help. I was actually going to ask you to explain why setting it to manual fixed the problem, but it looks like you already explained it very clearly, thank you again. I really have no excuse for why I didn't try the other options, I just didn't think about it. Everything is obvious in hindsight I guess.

Suggestion. The mod as is allows you to attempt escape through various means. I'd like to see this expanded. With different options vote different bindings. For example when you are bound with rope using blades to attempt to free yourself. If you are in locked shackles you would need a key or pick to open it or blacksmitth tools/skills to break it. Only NPCs with the requirements could help you get them off. And then bindings that have no locks but are simply forged on would require a very skill blacksmith to remove.

 

Idea 2. Branded chains. If you are locked up by storm cloaks any one friendly to them is more likely to return you to them then help with your chains.

I'm sorry if this has been addressed but is there a Sevenbase Bombshell version of the latest Assets? I assume selecting UNPB in the options is safe, so it's not a big concern for me, just curious.

not sure but I think most people go for the bodyslide version for specific body needs xP

Should restraints automagically be unbreakable and unpickable? For most practical purposes, this really isn't necessary. Any accessories that clasp behind you, especially between your wrists, is already more difficult to manipulate before adding a lock to it. Durability should be based on how well you can upgrade it yourself, and if you want further enchantment to secure the lock, you should have to pay the expense of getting it applied or applying it yourself.

 

This would go for non-quest NPC's devices as well; a random bandit scratching out a living by attacking the vulnerable isn't as likely to have good quality gear as an affluent city noble, or an ancient vampire or mage. Quest NPC's you can assume have reinforced their equipment to the best skill and quality available putting it on you, but some random NPC who wasn't planning on capturing an adventurer is much less likely to have covered their bases.

I'm constantly getting ingame popup message sayin that DD was not installed properly, possible problem occured while uninstalling the mod. Any ideas?

 

yeah, try reinstalling.

 

 

DD tells me bound animations are not available, despite ZAZ Animation Pack being installed and registered... Any ideas?

 

Hm, sounds like your installation is missing something. Try a reinstall according to the instructions of the mods involved and don't forget to run FINIS.

 

 

I'm sorry if this has been addressed but is there a Sevenbase Bombshell version of the latest Assets? I assume selecting UNPB in the options is safe, so it's not a big concern for me, just curious.

 

Shocky has been maintaining a SevenBase Bombshell version here. it's maintained separately, but seems to be up to date as of version 2.8.2.
