grow up man! It's the same with Laura's Bondage Shop. We've waited for ages for the last update and the support is done by the fans, typically you and me. Only difference ist, that she's a wee bit more active, but not much.

Looking at prime66's name I assume that he's my age. That when you typically lose your parents, get seriously ill or have a divorce. This is NOT the place to talk about that, so respect his privacy and be patient. What are two more years at our age? They're over in a blink of an eye.

Well - in my opinion there are two fundamental differences to the mod by Laura that you mentioned

 

a) the time span of 2 years that you mentioned did not mean that an extremely incomplete and faulty mod existed for that long - but that as of today 80-90% already existed in a playable form

 

b) the mod author Laura repeatedly gets involved in providing help herself - we users are not left alone with her

 

Why the author of this mod actually posts here 1-2 times a year and otherwise "keeps it simple" - is his business and it is also true that this is not the place to question or even discuss personal reasons ... but that is not what I am talking about

 

So I have clearly expressed my displeasure about the current circumstances ... now please ask yourself - when and why does someone vent their anger so clearly?

Maybe it's because I also like the idea of this mod and the potential it has... as a story writer, I might even see more of it than normal users of the game.

So why am I so frustrated?

Sorry - 3 years ago you mod authors made a huge hype about this work - after less than 1 year the air had gone out of it... what remains is an extremely rudimentary mod - which the users of this forum have been struggling with ever since.

 

It's not as if one doesn't understand how complicated creative processes are in everyday life... but since nothing visible and tangible (because playable) has been added here for two years - you either have to live with the criticism of your INACTIONS (it's not about what you do "at home" - but what the forum users can download here) or you withdraw until something new comes along!

So by your logic, we should then also lock and delete all other started mod projects on LL and Nexus that are either too slow for your liking, or have been abandoned?

 

Yes, it is true we did tease the community a lot and made big promises that all came from a younger, less experienced, and overly ambitious me who at that time had lots of free time due to the Covid lockdowns. (If I could go back and do it again I would obviously not hype you guys up so much, but that ship has sailed.) All I can do now is try my best to at least fulfill some of the stuff we planned ;) 

 

Yes, it is true that a lot of questions and help has been asked here. But as you have very likely seen yourself many, times people come back with, "oh I only installed the delta patch," or "Oh I forgot requirement X." I will be the first to admit that the currently released version is not smooth, but at least on LE it's not unplayable. I personally can only talk about the Quest side of things. I have no experience when it comes to BodySlide stuff, so as much as it pains me when someone has problems with it, I cannot help. This also comes back to my very first line in my last comment It would be amazing to have a sticky post on LL I could kill two birds with one stone. Adress the lack of progress and post a note with some of the common issues the Mod currently has and how to get around them and or fixes for them. Although I will do my best to better offer support for the Mod when the next version is out. 

 

And I thank you for it, seriously. I am really thankful for every person you and all the others still around in this thread helped to play the mod. 

 

In closing, thank you for being around and helping some of the new players and existing ones that have issues. Feel free to post everything you want here, it's not my job to tell you what you can and can't say.

No mod author is required to support their mod. Everyone here publishes their work for free, it is a 'gift' to us, not a subscription service with a support contract.

 

A lot of paid software relies on forum threads, with very sparse support from the developers themselves.

 

Besides, I'd rather they spend their free time working on their mod instead of answering repetitive queries.

There's A LOT of content in this mod, as a mod author I know it must have been many months of work. Admittedly, it takes some effort to access all the content, but there's enough I keep it permanently in my load order and play it regularly, just because I enjoy triggering the different beginnings/endings.

 

I don't understand why you think it so broken. I have played it on LE, SE and AE and everything works fine, just as it always did. A bit janky? Sure.., but that's no different to any other mod on here.

 

This mod has nearly 42,000 downloads, so the number of players who have reported problems is probably quite small. A lot of us just enjoy it and we're lazy fucks that 99% of the time don't come into the thread and say "that was great, thank you".

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to the new content when it’s ready. Glad to hear you’re still poking away at it a couple times a week—the real danger is forgetting how to use creation kit after taking longer breaks.

Thanks for the update. To be honest I kinda lost hope some time ago that it would ever see an update. Nice to see I was mistaken. This setting/mod really ticks a few of my boxes.

To be honest further disscusion on this topic/mod is pretty useless. It been the same since years.  Every year there is this " i/we still working on it but .... and so on" then some people will hold the flag for him and some people who critis will be "screamd" at by the flag holder and then silence for the rest  of the year and so the endless story repeats. I could go further but we all know how this wil turn out. ;) i personal considere the mod still as death, of course could show some WIP but why should he, he isnt payed for it and so one. Like i said the same story every year. 

But who cares ,he surley not as he told us  qoute: " don't care what you post here" from the  04.06.2024. "

I wouldn't really say anything was that hyped either... we just showed some of the stuff we had done and that we thought it would be released soon.
It did not and I can understand some people's disappointment, but what I can't understand is how some other people feel entitled to talk about the thing as if we missed some kind of "deadline"... THE MOD IS FREE, WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A PATREON, WE OWE YOU NOTHING.


🦝Ofc, to everyone else who did not make a fuss about anything, we really appreciate your interest in our work. Also, the ones who are the most interested about seeing this mod develop are us, because, as we said many times already, we are mostly doing this for our own enjoyment and we just happened to be wanting to share it.

You should consider the mod dead, because we work on it very sporadically, the point is that "very sporadically" still doesn't mean "abandoned".

We can do whatever we want, because this is our mod and is FREE.

SKYRIM SE, CBBE PRESET NOT SHOWING UP FIX

 

Alright I have a fix! @Prime66 you may be interested in this as it could help a lot of people going forward.

 

I inquired about the issue I was having with Skyrim SE, CBBE. Where in bodyslide, I couldn't select any presets for the outfits from this mod, thus resulting in invisible outfits and thus quite unplayable. But thanks to the gracious help of @zarantha that is all in the past. The problem was that the outfits seemed to rely on some kind of old version of CBBE or something, the point is that the slidergroups weren't set correctly. So I have now fixed that file and present it here, hoping it may be used by other users. Basically all the outfits have been added to the slidergroup CBBE, they can now be build and will display ingame.

 

IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS WORK COPY THE FILE AND PASTE IT IN THIS PATH:

\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\CalienteTools\BodySlide\SliderGroups

If your bodyslide somehow has a different location than you'll have to find that and go from CalienteTools\BodySlide\SliderGroups

 

It will ask you to overwrite, you just have to say yes.

 

Disclaimer: I'm not some pro-modder, the outfits are what they are, most of them seem to fit just right, but some of them may not look perfect, with some clipping here and there. I truly can't do anything about that, I have no idea how to work with the tools to fix that.

 

Edit: For people who want to install this in the mod file before installing the mod, here is the path where you should paste and overwrite this file: The Facility 0.74 [SE]\02 CBBE\CalienteTools\BodySlide\SliderGroups

There are mods out there that haven't been touched, or visibly supported, for years. 

 

But every 3 or 4 months, someone or othere mouths off about the authors' lack of progress on this one

 

The authors then take time to explain why they may be having a hard time making progress - note that they even refer to 'personal issues'

 

And yet the moaners then moan about the response and, so help me, even if the authors were actually dying, some of the moaning minnies would still be slagging them off

 

So, just make a mod yourselves, or be grateful for what you've got so far, wish the authors well, take a chill pill, and have some patience.

Long Answer: As I stated previously and yes it was a couple of months ago no the mod is not dead, we already put too much effort into the next update to just let it die. That being said progress is very slow for a multitude of reasons all of which are private. We are still working on the Mod and eventually, a new update will come, if by the time that happens no one will be here to play it then it will be incredibly unfortunate but I can't change it. I am still keeping a promise I made to myself and that is if it ever comes to a point where I am no longer working on the Mod or even playing Skyrim for a substantial amount of time I will set the Mod as abandoned and release everything I have for it so someone else can take it over if they so wish.

 

 

 

However as it stands I still pretty regularly play Skyrim and work on the mod two, or three times per week too. The reason I am not really posting on LL is that if I don't have much news to share posting that would be pretty pointless. 
Since there are still some people who are patiently waiting I want to at least tell you about the new stuff that is coming with the next update. 
Quests: 

  • Continuation of the Inspector Quest with several different endings. 
  • Continuation of the Plaything Path with several different endings. (The one where you end up in a suspended hogtie in a set of Golden restraints)
  • The Initial Quest has been reworked it should still play the same as it did just now with much less jank

Locations: 
As teased before we expanded the facility with two new Levels and a Main Elevator Hub that connects them. To complement this the Tour Quest has also been reworked ever so slightly, although the new levels won't be shown during the tour for the privacy of our Patients. ;)

 

Framework thingies: 
Less interesting to players I worked on some background stuff to speed up quest development in the future, I also shortly after starting work on the new update started work on an "Animation Framework" to support unlooped Paired animations some of those animated Scenes will be in the next update too. 

 

So that's most of the major things coming with the next version. I probably forgot some stuff cause... well it's been a while but yeah. 

 

 

If you take nothing else away from this post please know that if the mod is dead I will announce it, and as of right now.

So I love this mod, I'm looking forward to the next update of it, and I have two suggestions :

- Firstly about the ooze : it seems that the script that transforms the ooze into a catsuit is called at the same time the ooze is equipped in the facility, but if you get it through additem menu or console commands the script isn't called, I think the solution is to call the script every time the ooze is equipped

- Secondly, the rubber maiden is amazing, but you have to get the last part of the puzzle wrong to get to it, I'd like some spell or item to spawn it without using console commands, also my character shapes are so big that some parts of her thighs and boobs are out of it, maybe this could be fixed with bodyslide ? I noticed the two dildos inside, maybe they could either fill your character with some liquid or vibrate with a buzzing sound ?
