Well, if you let Steam update the game when it wants to, it's on you ;)  I'm still on SE 1.5.97 and has never auto-updated even when Steam is online all the time.

In all fairness, I just booted up Steam today to find it reset my update preference for Skyrim, and I have no idea why. I definitely had it set to "only update when I launch" prior, as it'd been queued for months. You wouldn't happen to know the depot ID for the old version, would you?

Not sure if you've seen it before but if you do a search for Skyrim AE to SE downgrader you'll find a download to bring is back to SE 1.5.97 . .There's two versions a lite version that retains the AE dlc and a full version (the former used to work for me but have had to do full downgrade now).

 

Ever since they removed the ability in Steam to switch off downloads the only way I've tried to prevent it is schedule a download window between 3am and 3.01am in the middle of the night so hopefully my computer is never actually switched on during that time.

From what i've read so far, most mods are already updated to the latest AE. But if you want to stick Skyrim version you need to change the version file readonly. It's

 

\Steam\steamapps\appmanifest_489830.acf

 

If you do that, make sure this information is somewhere easy to find for you in some text file, because this message of mine you're not going to find again i'm sure.

Did this for me too. It decided to update itself even though i had it on "only when i launch"

Has anyone successfully started this mod on an existing SE save?

 

I have installed The Facility 0.74 [SE].7z and then merged the The Facility SE Delta Patch 0.74-0.75.7z in MO2 (never had any previous Facility version installed).

 

When coming near the structure in Markarth, I get a message "THE FACILITY DISCOVERED", but the gatekeeper Hamsgar, who is sitting nearby, doesn't have any dialog topics. And I haven't found anyone related to the Facility in the Markarth inn.

 

Is there anything I can try?

You need to ask Inkepper in Markarth about job, then go to the guard outside Facility.

Thank your for replying. I have asked Kleppr and Frabbi in the Markarth inn, but they don't have any Facility related dialog topic. I saw in SSEedit how the dialog topics should look like, but they just don't seem to trigger...

Interesting.  I didn't know you could ask the inn keeper about a job. Does that give you a different ending from the others?

The innkeeper tells you that there is this facility outside the city and that they are looking for people to work there.


That's what triggers the guard sitting in front of the "retracted" entrance!

Just dropped in to say that the story build for up mod is amazing, the scripting and the custom meshes look amazing and I still hope that that there will be some form of continuation.

 

One thing I noticed that the vibration event triggered by this mod do not cause the the DD VibrateStartEffect event, other than that no issues.

 

Thanks for creating this.

Thank you for replying. No, I didn't start a new game. I tried to start the quest within an existing save/playthrough.

 

It's a pity that the quest can only be started with a new game.,, But I am confused: I have installed a couple of other quest mods, which all started fine within an already existing save. Why does The Facility mod require a new save?

That's how modding is... that their quest mods worked within an advanced game -> pure coincidence


Some mod authors talk about the "golden rule" -> start a new game after installing (or removing) the mod


There are mods - they only initialize certain things cleanly and completely during character creation

The dialogue/SEQ bug with "start enabled" quests is one of the main reasons I'm aware of, but that only requires a save and reload, not a new game.

As I already wrote... that doesn't always work. (like mine for example)

In fact, every user has their own mod list - and no one can see all the unwanted side effects in advance.


You have the lowest risk of errors when you restart the game... but of course everyone can do whatever they want.

Greeting.  There is a question.  This quest.  Is this a quest with only one puzzle?  I tried to run it several times.  And all the same puzzle.  Am I doing something wrong?  Or what?  I just thought that the main character could become a "patient" of this "hospital". If I'm doing something wrong, please tell me.  Thank.

There are different outcomes of the puzzle (and other parts). That's part of the fun of the mod (finding all the different outcomes), but the content you're suggesting is not completed.

The status of this mod was around 2 years ago -> it is in the EARLY PHASE of its development.


The rooms, the clothing/equipment and the main NPCs of this facility are finished... but perhaps 5-10% of the possible quests that have only been sketched out in a rudimentary manner.

Oh, I got it.  In this case, I found all the results.  However, the mod is two years old and it's not ready yet.  So the developers abandoned it.  And he will remain in this phase.  Well, in any case, it was interesting and fun.  Thank you.

I'm having an issue when captured by the guard, i cant move, the scene doesn't progress, and I'm just stuck staring at 2 guards once i get down inside the facility, nothing happens, someone else had this issue in this forum but was never answered, the mod is broken and I cant progress, what do?

it's not abandoned. It's just been an awful combination of Real Life and computer issues. Do you remember how long we've waited for Captured Dreams Shop to reappear? What are two years among friends...

They haven't abandoned it - once in a while they give an update. But the progress is extremely slow.

Sadly, I was too late to the party to get Captured Dreams. Now, it appears to be gone. I would've loved to see that one lol
