I believe you're in the wrong place for SE, from what the mod author's said in this thread in the past they only did the LE version. A different modder adapted it for the SE, so go to the "Devious Followers -  Continued SE" page, make sure you're using that version, and if you have any more problems ask in that support thread. There's probably not a lot of differences, I don't know, I couldn't make a mod to save my life, but I imagine there's enough that it could cause some issues.

I just tested this on Skyrim SE with DFC 2.14.2 (fixed) and Simple Slavery++ SE 6.3.11, and the hand-off from SS++ to DFC worked fine.

These sound like two different situations. Please clarify which problem you are experiencing.

Apparently when Expected Deals goes up, it also resets the accumulated boredom penalty back to zero. So that's another way to reset it.

 

But... it seems that accepting a deal now also reduces the number of expected deals. Doesn't this make the boredom system simple to circumvent?

 

1) Boredom increases. Don't accept any deals until...

2) Next boredom interval, Expected Deals increases if it is low. This resets the boredom penalty and sets boredom to 0.

3) Now accept a deal, lowering Expected Deals to its original value again. Or more deals, to send it to zero.

 

I guess the follower succeeded in getting you to accept a deal. But the long term implications of a follower becoming more demanding over time are gone.

 

Edit: maybe this is unintentional? The change seems to be in QF__DflowDealController_0a01C86D, lines 117-120, where deals were made to reduce boredom. But ReduceBoredom() also lowers the expected deal counter by default. Using ReduceBoredom(0) instead would restore the old expected deals behavior, I think.

Checked... Yes. It's a bug.

 

I added this mechanic for boredom reduction specifically for games, but it's firing on a boredom removal I didn't update properly: boredom reduction from deal acceptance.

 

Fixed in dev build.

He, Lupine.

I got a few questions. If you're willing to help, if you don't I understand completely.

I'm playing around with.

I want to make the accessories deals, the ring, amulet and circlet into a nose ring, a bell and a cow's ear circlet as well as make some more changes to accompany that. Mostly dialogue, a few new deals similar to what BAC addon did where you would be disallowed from sleeping in inns and had to beg to sleep at a barn. maybe a small quest or event although I go back and forth on that one.

As I say in the description of that mod I am very new to making "mods" and thus I want to take it step by step (I already fucked up a few people's MCMs :p)

But yeah I wanted to ask a couple things,

-Do you think there will be any further changes to the deals?

-What is the best way I could add new deals so I wouldn't conflict any future updates and stuff like that?

-Do you don't me doing this, right?

 

Last little bit,

I really love the recent few updates with the spanking deals etc. Really good addition.

Deal mechanics in general ... likely to change ... yes. Deals are going to get another refactor sometime.

Those specific deals... how you come by them might change. Those specific deal mechanics probably not.

 

Adding new deals is complex, you cannot simply add them in.

The modular deals are patched on top of a patch on top of a hack really.

Nothing about DFC code is DRY or easy to maintain, modular, isolated, etc.

 

You may get away with patching the dialogs for those existing deals, or modifying the items so they have some enchantments that do something you like, but adding new deals will be tricky, and likely get broken relatively often by other changes.

 

You can do what you like, and I don't mind, but don't want to support things I didn't make and don't really know about, or have bandwidth to know about.

 

If you have item models and textures made up, and rights are all cleared up, then I can put those items in the mod, which would leave you less to patch.

I might then - at some future point - make the extra deals and merge them in properly.

 

But not in the near term, as future work is already planned, and then there's the poll.

I'm not working on DFC in a meaningful way this month at all, and probably not for some of next month either.

I'm using SLS 0.661 and DFC 2.14.2 (fixed), on SE.

 

New game. SLS licenses are all enabled. DFC Gold control is off. DFC "Handle licenses" is on. _DFLicenses quest stage is 1.

 

I tested by using the console to change _DWill directly.

 

Dialogue option "I'm worried about licenses. Can you help?" is available when _Dwill >= 5 and the dialogue option is not present when _DWill <= 4.

Doesn't your follower take care of licenses automatically if your will is too low then?

I mean at a certain point they will also refuse to buy you clothes licenses etc. if you have that deal on so it seems logical to me your follower just starts doing what they want when your  willpower is lower, just like they do with deals.

But I don't know that for certain.

Trying to add some detail on the "Armibinder not working" topic.

 

I was running from Fort Greenwall towards Riften, at some point near the Shrine of Zenitar seems to be the city's border. My NFF followers donned their town outfit and my Devious Follower put the "Easy Rope Bindings" (ID=4F1930DD) on me, which equipped, but didn't bind my hands. (Damn, should have taken a screenshot.)

Later I stuggled out again (the logfile again has a lot of FNIS calls, returnig zeros) because I wanted use an arcane enchanter. During the enchanting session, DF slapped the ropes on me again. I had an empty ropebinder dangling behind me, so that I feard for the worst, but as soon as I left the enchanting minigame, my hands were bound as they should be.

Dunno if this is of any help. To my non-modders eye this looks like a typicial "I'm buggy becuase I want to" behaviour of Zad.

Those specific deals... how you come by them might change. Those specific deal mechanics probably not.

 

Adding new deals is complex, you cannot simply add them in.

The modular deals are patched on top of a patch on top of a hack really.

Nothing about DFC code is DRY or easy to maintain, modular, isolated, etc.

 

You may get away with patching the dialogs for those existing deals, or modifying the items so they have some enchantments that do something you like, but adding new deals will be tricky, and likely get broken relatively often by other changes.

 

You can do what you like, and I don't mind, but don't want to support things I didn't make and don't really know about, or have bandwidth to know about.

 

If you have item models and textures made up, and rights are all cleared up, then I can put those items in the mod, which would leave you less to patch.

I might then - at some future point - make the extra deals and merge them in properly.

 

But not in the near term, as future work is already planned, and then there's the poll.

I'm not working on DFC in a meaningful way this month at all, and probably not for some of next month either.

Won't be as clean as I hoped but I guess I could add what I want using the keywords and keep distance from everything else which is probably a good thing to do anyway.

I'm having a weird issue with the newest update.  Whenever I try to buy out of a module deal, the deal disappears but the total number of deals I have doesn't go down.  I had 3 module deals, bought out of all of them, the general page doesn't show any active deals but still says I'm at 3 deals.  This makes dismissing my follower impossible (other than the debug option).  Classic deals work fine though.

Since the last update there is the option to be enslaved by the "Submissive Lola" mod.
This however appears to not work (most of the time). Whenever my follower starts the dialogue for enslavement that is all he does, talk....
One time a quest got triggered that seemed to be what is supposed to happen, but not much later my game got stuck (unrelated issue) and I had to revert to a save before the Lola enslavement, since then it seems some kind of trigger is not activating properly.
Any idea what could be causing this and how to fix it?

 

(Currently my DF is already also my "Submissive Lola" owner, so that might be interfering, but this issue occurred before that too.)

I play on the SE version, but since that forum is not very active I decided to ask my question here too

It's not valid to be enslaved to SLTR if you're already enslaved to SLTR.  This mod probably already checks for that, but if it doesn't, then SLTR will display a pop-up message saying that it will ignore the enslavement request because you're already a SLTR slave.

You'll have to provide more information, particularly the follower's words (as precisely as you can remember).  If you can't remember the details, you'll have to wait until it happens again.  With such a brief description, there's no way to tell whether the problem is happening in DFC or SLTR.

You can't be enslaved into SLTR by DFC if you're already enslaved into SLTR. Don't do that.

 

All DFC does is raise a mod event. If that event isn't responded to, DFC will basically just turn off instead of enslaving you.

If DFC doesn't go "dead" after the event, it's likely a DFC problem not SLTR.

If it seems to stop doing devious stuff, then it's more likely an issue with SLTR not responding to the event successfully.

I confess it does not.

I wasn't 100% sure how to determine it reliably.

Nor do I know how to check if SLTR is a high enough revision to support the event.

 

To solve either problem would require a proper soft-dep shim, which I elected to avoid writing at that point.

However, I'm open to improving it if I'm pointed at the appropriate globals/quests/etc.

Yes.

Like practically every DD you are expected to wear for a deal. Only a handful are added, and that was just to get around problems where they were often hard for the player to add, or for something special like the sign of annoying HDT

Yeah. If you look back a bit, this is mentioned.

 

As it stops buyout, I should probably release the fix. A bit late to do it now, maybe tomorrow.

Nonono, i didn't get to try it in game yet, still busy doing stuff, no time to play.
I just didn't notice any checks when quickly glancing over the script sources, so i thought maybe there really aren't any.

My follower is no longer Lola's owner. The quest has been completed.

 

I have attached a transcript of 4 different conversations my follower had with me.
All in the span of a few minutes after each other but then nothing happens.

 

EDIT:
I have noticed it said "Start the slavery watcher..." in the top left message pop-up, but no events trigger.
I also noticed that on the DFC debug page it says Event triggers suspended (DF) after the conversation
