Alright, after a day or so of messing around:

Works perfect. No complaints.
But I do have some questions about TSEX that might be hard to find given the volume of this thread. Anything I can think of I'll try and keep into this post to avoid spamming the forum like I have the past couple days (thanks for putting up with me).


My Questions, a bit all over the place, but put in a spoiler to not clog shit up (Last @ , I promise @Tentacus

1) Are TSEX and Hardship 1.6 both independent projects, that hook into each other?


2) I know 1.6 is a bit of a ways off. TSEX looks like it's making a lot of progress with all the updates you post here, may I ask what you think the percentage of a working build is in your opinion?

3) Will there be 3some, maybe 4some support?

4) given all the menu commands (which look awesome), will there be more variety in what can be selected in Hardship in the future perhaps? 

 

5) Have you, or anyone, thought about using an equippable mesh that triggers for facials rather than a looksmenu overlay?... since looksmenu overlays don't seem to have that functionality (I don't think it ever will)

6) I think this question is my most important right now: is there a way to disable animations from some of the animation packs either on their own, or the ones set into Hardship?

For that last question, would deleting animation data from some of the xmls cause issues? Or would that effectively act as "removing them from the hardship queue"?


 


Thanks for the hard work. I really enjoy following this thread and this mod in a very "poor raider" playstyle. Super fun, lots of choice. Works just about flawlessly. Appreciate it, Tentacus!

TSEX is a Master for Hardship 1.6. You can just run TSEX if for instance you only want player aggressor stuff or no prostitution. But you can't run Hardship 1.6 without TSEX.

Too difficult to say. A lot of the systems level stuff is in, and I'm just now going through the difficult task of getting TSEX's dialogue system to bridge to the existing hardship dialogue.

I am going to try to streamline the "before choices" stuff... Move some of it to after the scene starts to be more immersive. The spit or swallow menu is already quit a bit more fleshed out.

I've thought about it but I doubt it could be done in a satisfactory way. I remember way back in the day there being 3d cum for Second life and that always looked like shit.

Well for 1.59 simply don't install the XMLs for those packs when you install Hardship, though Leito is required, and in 1.6 so will Atomic Lust. It remains to be seen if I'll be using the same custom XML set up in 1.6 with Ulf quitting and all.

Thanks for the clarity, definitely excited to this mod come to fruition. I do hope that from other anim packs, assuming you'll be keeping support, you'll allow for continued use of furniture based animations. Definitely very immersive in this mod with all the locations and situations I can find myself in.

Hi guys, after i install the mods, i can see it in my MCM, but i can't find the menu item to equip. click get menu item but nothing happen. and any changes made in MCM will be resetted after exiting. anybody have any idea what is wrong? thanks!

What collar do you want?

Hardship makes use of the collar located here:

Data / Meshes / DixiePig / SlaveCollar / SlaveCollar.nif

 

(for men the file is SlaveCollarM.nif).

 

 

So take the .nif of the collar you prefer, rename it as "SlaveCollar" and replace it in that folder.

 

 

There are other ways, like creating a patch with FO4Edit that redirects to the collar you want.

15.  Real Handcuffs  0.4.7 or above -- This is a true Master of Hardship and RealHandcuffs.esp must be above Beggar_Whore.esp in the plugin load order!

       NOTE: Read the instructions carefully. If you don't you might end up with an AAF conflict.

Update:

 

After a couple of days of struggling to find the best approach I think I know how I'm going to move forward with handling the various dialogue modes. It'll require moving handling of some things from Hardship to TSEX and the uncoupling of the Menacing Raiders and sensible Gunners from Beggar Whore mode which means you'll be able to stay in white flag mode all the time if you like, or toggle one or the other off as you like. I know some of you will be happy about that.

Some day I'd like to update and add a little adult content to DLYH and Mercs and safe passage yeah... but god knows when that will be. Hospitality already fell through the cracks and at this point I'm not sure if I'll ever get back to that.

I personally made a mashup of the DixiePig Slave Collar and the nipple clamp collar chain from Vtaw Wardrobe 6, and adjusted my shirt/jacket to hide the chain and clamps when clothed. Makes for a fun reveal!

Ah shit I'm back with a question, a bit more general tho...

The mod "Cheat Terminal" allows the player to change their faction. If I changed to raider faction, would raiders still menace my player? (I'm gonna test regardless but thought I'd ask in the chance someone has tried this)

Yes though you can toggle that off in the MCM/menu object. (Seperate from BW mode)

Amazing mod, having a blast building a modlist around it!

 

PS : Would LOVE more content or even a voice actress ❤️ for Queen Isabell , she is just so good and deserves more!

Update:

 

Deep in cleaning up and updating Hardship scripts. That will take a couple of days, then I hope to get into implementing new dialogue... assuming I don't horribly break anything.  The busy work feels good and I can not believe how FUCKED a lot of the indents STILL are. Honestly I think it's cause I fixed a lot of them on 1.59 already but didn't on the Hardship Final/1.6 fork. (The 2 versions forked OVER a year ago... lol. ?)

 

Requiredname65 tried to get me to care about deleting whitespace but after doing that for 2 scripts... LOL no. Not worth it. ?

Fun fact: all of the original Hardship code was written in Notepad... Not Notepad++.... NOTEPAD, and compiled in the CK, which would eat your source code randomly. I also didn't know SHIT about coding (Like I do now... Ha!) So yeah... There is still a surprising amount of that old code scattered about.

See if your editor of choice has macro/command/shortcut for 'trim traling whitespace'.

As a last resort, regex can match all traling whitespace to line end (but as is said, I used regex to solve a problem and now I have two problems):

 

pattern                  || what is should match

\s+$                         all whitespace to end of line (space, tab, linebreak)

[ \t]\s+$                    spaces and tabs to end of line

(?<=\w+)[ \t]+$        spaces and tabs to end of line IIF preceded by atleast 1 character
