Also, this has been on my mind recently, would it be weird if I included simified versions of some chicks I had crushes on in high school? I'm not gonna use their actual names or anything, but still, I'm wondering if I'm crossing some kind of moral/ethical line by doing that.

Playing yourself like a Gary Stu definetely is fun! Been running a save where I converted Gina with all her overpowered Character traits into such a version of myself, getting together with Charlotte Delanque how she was originally created, as my wife, albeit much more kinky than before. I don't know if I'm trying to start an actual family or a Harem of all the girls in town with this save.

 

 

Right now its my favorite way to play the game, next to my more realistic self-insert in mrrakkonn's world.

Poor guy fell in love with Tracy because she banged him once. I don't know how long it has been that I've played this game the way it was intended, without a turboslut character buffed with all types of character traits.

 

On the crush thing, I have to say I tried something like that myself some years ago and it wasn't really worth it. It definetely felt weird and the emotional catharsis I hoped for was left out entirely, so I just eventually removed her character from the game. Just my experience with it.

the bedrooms I'm still very much liable to change, as I'm not 100% decided on who I'm gonna actually portray as living in this place. I think I might move my sim Jason McFadden into here (sim in my profile pic and to the left in the group photo below), so one of the rooms at the moment is sort of the old room I had made for him transplanted onto this lot

 

 

Kind of doing some test runs at the moment, looking to maybe take some pictures, set up a decently populated college keg party scenario. Took a group photo of most of the sims attending that

 

 

I was thinking of having way more sims, and might still do it, but I wanted to lite test run, and I might want to make and add some more male sims to the mix for that.

@mrrakkonn  Is that a hot tub at the side of the pool?  You can flush mount those?  I never knew that!  Is there a trick to it?

 

And has anyone tried a stack of platforms as pool steps?

@snowdog04 Yeah, that's a hot tub and there's a trick to it. Basically as you can see I built the lot on a pretty tall foundation, as tall as the hot tub, then by the pool I marked out a room the size of the hot tub and removed the floor for that, then removed the walls before placing the hot tub into the hole I had made. Unfortunately this means it's non-functional, sims can't get in, so it's pretty much just a decor item, though using it for posing or WW animations still works fine. 

 

This was all done before platforms were added by the way, and I haven't played around with those much yet, maybe there's a better way of doing this now.

My Exhibitionist house has a sunken hot tub. This is actually the exact tutorial I used.

You have to use stairs (at least you did). Just yesterday, I was thinking of upgrading it with ladders, but it no longer seemed to work. Can someone who downloaded my house confirm that it either works, or that it does not. This trick may have stopped working at some point over the years.

Okay I just played around with it a little.  Platforms will allow you to flush mount a hot tub, but sims won't get in.  Platforms can't be placed in a pool.  Also a "negative" platform can't go directly against a pool- you can raise up above the surface, but not down below.

One cool thing I came across is that a basement room CAN go right up against a pool, and the wall now dividing the basement from the pool can have windows in it.

Yes, but unlike Sims 3, you CAN'T see sims swimming in it. As soon as you move down a level the sim disappears. I guess, because they're not on that level. It's really stupid, and bothered me since I switched over to Sims 4

I just really wish they'd added shallow pools or pools with gradual depth, since they added wading with the Sulani pack. Really feels like it's missing and all pools are like ridiculously deep.

Yeah, my first step after the last update was me trying to build a pool with platforms in it. I love real swimming ponds in gardens, and now, that we actually can have Kois in a pool... But no, EAxis always stops the half way down, and so our sims can´t wade into deeper water, and I cant build a realistic looking flat shore with cattails and other plants. Often this game only sucks.

your house looks cool. I love the table tennis table in the living room! And the picture with the four arches let the house look very spacious. ?

I also miss those in-floor hot tubs from 3, there were a lot! I don't want to hate on this game too much but the lack of object and decor choice drives me nuts.

EDIT: Played around a bit more with these and recorded some videos of teen versions of Thalia and Alexis playing around in Thalia's room, didn't really bother to do much editing or cutting together here, as I couldn't really get a nice transition from one of the pose packs to another. Also got some clipping in the second and third one.

I have another house finished. This was abandoned for a while cause of problems with the construction but now it is ready for sims to move in:

Both versions are included in the attached file. If you don´t want the bell-looking roof of the tower, you can simply delete it. Underneath is the pointed version of the roof. But I wasn´t able to decide, which version I like better. The bell-roof is common on early french/second empire mansions in Louisiana and along the Mississippi river, I found it on a lot of pictures from those regions.

It has five bedrooms, two playgrounds for kids, five bathrooms, two additional toilets, but have a look for yourself. More pictures are in the spoiler part of this posting.

Don´t wonder about the two columns in the dark, I used them as foundations fo the lamps in the front ot the building.

 

As always you need to enable CC in your library, and I recommend to use the command "bb.moveobjects" before placing the lot. The place is the lot opposite to the Goth-family mansion but that is only, where i did build it.

Try Wallawalla and BlaCCat.  Digging through the sims page here, I was surprised how few there were- because browsing a CC catalog a while back, I was surprised just how many creators specialized in black/urban style stuff.  Isn't anyone using all this stuff?

Wallawalla tends to be Maxis match style, and his black characters may be part of a larger set, such as his Men of the City/Women of the City downloads.

Those pictures are quite nice. The bright lighting though I have to do this in order to make out the full saturation of the picture. :S

I think I've mostly finished putting together my Simkuza hideout lot for Basemental Gangs, using the 50x50 lot in the mountains in Mt. Komorebi. As a base I used a lot I found on the gallery and the exterior is still more or less the same as the gallery lot I used, though since this lot was older than Snowy Escape I replaced most windows and doors with new ones from the pack and I removed or changed some other exterior stuff to better accomodate the permanent winter setting of this location.
 

 

Interiors I have more or less completely overhauled, with the exception of a couple of rooms and the general look of the interiors (wallpaper and floors, for most rooms).
