I did manage to get that file earlier today buried deep in some other post but wasn't sure if it was current. So if that is the latest and greatest I guess I'm good to go. 79 I think is the latest........ ?
AngelPhoenix69 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 Please forgive me asking, I was looking at AAF on Nexus. I was trying to figure out which version of AAF I needed. I run .98 runtime, yet there are two files that I can use. I know I only need one. And this is where the confusion is coming from, do I need 78 or 79. One of the files is bigger then the other. 1

Ifi you are running older versions of Fallout 4 then you need to update everything to the newest version of Fallout 4 and then use this. There are many bugs and such that have been fixed that are present on older versions. (not sure what you mean bu run .98 ;))

Beth slipped in some bugg fixes along with later versions of CC........Sneaky bastards! Anyone running pre-CC won't have these fixes! ?

Your other mods will have to be equal to that. MCM, Looks, etc etc. It is a pain in the ass to get going. as you likely know. Anyway use the latest version that supports your desired run time. Also be aware that there is little likely hood that support will be given in any manner to get any fixes or such as it is such an outdated file. Spoiler I believe the one shown above should work for you. Dagobaking creates entire mods since the inclusion into a FMOD (all the options included) so I think you should be fine with that version at least for your goal. Don't forget you likely need the older MCM to run the various mods as well. (uses F4SE ;)) as well as any other F4SE mod you use will likely need to be compatible. I do however strongly suggest that you upgrade to the most current public release.

The last time I updated it broke not only a few mods. but the entire game. I had to delete everything from mods to the game folder inside steam and basically start over from scratch.

You'd have to check the Family Planning page to find that out. I don't think you understand modding Fallout4 This isn't Fallout 3 or even New Vegas... Every time a new update to the game occurs it needs to have an updated F4SE which means ALL MODS THAT USE THAT NEED THE UPDATE. The game isn't "broken" it works fine. The mods, work fine, they aren't broken. The issue is the script extenders needs to be changed and all those mods that rely on it need an quick update. The updates usually take less than a day to gain access to. Not only your mods but the saves them-self can be messed up with the updates. 1

You are correct in that there hasn't been any verified or verifiable mods that were broken by the recent update. Most of the updates are being done as I understand it due to the release or changes to the game because of CC mods. Sorry for the double post.

The scripts were updated and I had a new script extender installed plus installed all the updated mods I needed. It wasn't the mods or their updates that broke the game, it was the update to .98 runtime. Sorry I should have been making my posts clearer.

Your welcome. I hope you don't think I was rude when suggesting that you just update to the most current version and call it a day. It is just a suggestion for ease of use and for other users here to make their lives easier. Other users that might not understand the modding and game process as good as you do. Best wishes on your endeavor. I gave up a long time ago trying to keep any game (outdated) with their mods running since Skyrim.

Masterpandabear Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 So, i have AAF beta 10 installed and it works fine. I am also using RSE 3.9.9.9.7 (rev2). Yesterday during a combat that i lost the enemy npcs tried to rape Cait and i got an the animation not found error it was something "like cannot find human female with male protecton " (really nice that it tells you now exactly what kind of animations instead of just FM btw) and well my game just stoped there and i had to reload. Is there a way to block actor types? i am sure that the only actor types i installed were human, ghoul and synth, as i remember only picking those options and i only have AAF_actorTypeData_ghoul.xml, AAF_actorTypeData_human.xml AAF_actorTypeData_synth.xml (no robot one). Not sure if this is more of an issue with RSE or AAF, i posted something similar with Codsworth around a month ago and Flashy said he thought it was an issue with AAF but he made a fix anyway (with Codsworth/dogmeat specifically) but since he is out of town i thought i would report it here first.
RitualClarity Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 ideally you would have the animations you need for the mods you are using so that you don't have to have things blocked.

As mentioned, it would be ideal to have animations installed for everything. But, I'm not sure if any AAF protectron animations exist currently. This could probably be addressed with RSE or AAF. The solution on the AAF side would be to not show the error message and just ignore races that don't have animations. But, I think the notification is pretty useful and informative about what is going on. The solution on the RSE side would be to filter out protectrons from being included in animation requests.

What I guess I'd love to see is someone create an animation pack using the default game standing idle once for every creature in the game as a placeholder animation for sex. That would solve this problem and allow modders to create mods using them. It turned out in NewVegas some like the Ant just standing over an actor wasn't far off anyway

Though, they might need to be copied and the animation type changed. But, I think it is kind of subjective whether or not characters just standing there with no message is better than getting a message explaining the situation.

Yeah, but it might encourage some people to make the missing animations and save having to script block out creatures/robots etc that aren't covered in random attack like mods. To me it allows mods to move forward, and animations can catch up later. We can always add the message using Topics still
Pazz2 Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Can someone help me out please? I reinstalled Fallout 4. I only installed AAF and the compatibility patches. But I do not see the wizard ingame. When I press "home", nothing happens either. I saw one possible solution for this. When you edit the ini files as shown in the first post, you have to manually type it instead of copy paste. But that seems weird. I tried that, and it doesn't work. The files are not on read-only.

Do you have at least one animation pack installed? If you do and you are getting no greeting on startup and no home key it's likely an f4se install issue.
Thiefnuker Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Hey all, I have an interesting issue with the unequip function. I installed AAF using the "unequip none" function, yet AAF undresses the torso slot for every animation from various packs. I installed the obsolote "unequip none patch" on top of it, but AAF kept removing the torso upon selecting any animation for the player character. NPCs are not undressed. I went to the AAF_settings.xml and set the disable equipment handling setting to "true", yet AAF keeps removing the torso slot. Only AAF removes armors. FourPlay is not installed in any form (no RSE either). It affects modded and vanilla outfits alike. I'm kind of out of ideas what could possibly cause my player character to drop the uniform upon any animation. Any suggestions?
dagobaking Posted September 5, 2018 Author Posted September 5, 2018 I tested that on some vanilla outfits and the setting worked for me. I think maybe the ones that don't work are equipments with special handling of some kind.
