As mentioned, it would be ideal to have animations installed for everything. But, I'm not sure if any AAF protectron animations exist currently.

This could probably be addressed with RSE or AAF.

The solution on the AAF side would be to not show the error message and just ignore races that don't have animations. But, I think the notification is pretty useful and informative about what is going on.

The solution on the RSE side would be to filter out protectrons from being included in animation requests.

Thank you for your response dagobaking. Yes i don't know if there is animations for protectons and even so it was one of the automatron dlc robots so i am not sure how would that play with animations (since the all have different parts).

I don't know how this framework works in detail;

 A) do other mods "subscribe" and get a list of valid actors/animations?

 B) do the mods that use the framework have to do  a "play random animation between x and y" like command?

If it's B i think its something that RSE would have to address  and it does make more sense to me since AAF is an animation framework and i think the error messages are really helpful specially now since they are more detailed. The problem was not exactly the error, just that the game got "stuck" because nothing was playing (or maybe i did not wait long enough).

I will post the issue with RSE once Flashy comes back. Thanks again dago.

I have tried it with vanilla outfits and a modded police uniform, which has no special handling. If you want I can send you my Steam on PM and I can show you in the stream how exactly it acts.

It would be more helpful to have a save game file from a stripped down game (only the mods needed to test installed) where I could test a specific vanilla equipment.

The AAF wizard (using HOME) gives beds (if near) as possible locations (like couches, chairs, ground etc) but finds no associated Male/Female animations.

Are there any bed animations handled by AAF?

I got most animation packs working with AAF except Crazy's.

Currently all bed animations that do work for me go through the four-play engine (and only with FP Sex 'Em Up not FP Prostitution).

You'll need to have animations that actually use those locations.. such as  SavageCabbages' animations

Do you have at least one animation pack installed?

If you do and you are getting no greeting on startup and no home key it's likely an f4se install issue.

I have Savage Cabbage animation pack installed, and the mods that are required for that animation pack.

I also reinstalled f4se, the latest version. Other mods work fine, it's just AAF doesn't work for some reason.

It's likely that fourplay is interfering with AAF and vice versa. They both do the same thing. @VonHelton made a video of how to make the two work together, you might take a look at that.

I have the same message. I have downgraded SavageCabbage_Animations to v1.02 but it doesn't work. Any solution ?

That is due to Halstrom's animation properties and positions xml. Uninstall it. Reinstall all your animations and install the single xml version. It's not so intrusive and knows if a mod is active or not

I've had that issue where modded armour pieces arent stripped at all come back. I don't think I added any new armour mods. I'm aware that load order can resolve the issue (workshop items>looksmenu>vio strapon mod>animations>AAF>patches>all armour mods>any other mods).
I had it working about a week ago, downloaded some new mods (around the same time the game updated). then suddenly stripping was broken again.
If anyone could take a look at my load order and give me a hand in tidying it up, i'd be appreciative.

After reinstalling AAF and all related Mods this Message stays on the Screen and i can´t open the Wizard anymore.

Anyone know how to fix it?

Papyrus.0.log

In the folder Fallout 4\Data\AAF there is a AAF_Settings which you can open up with notepad or wordpad.  Down towards the top in the debug section you can change it from false to true that should let AAF go through it's checks then that part should disappear. Farther on down there is a hotkey section  If you know the hotkey number you want to change and to what hotkey you want to change too that is where you do it.

I've been trying to get the AAF_protectedEquipmentData.xml to work so that the male unequips everything but the female keeps specific clothes on. However, the file seems to not have an effect on what stays on. I tried this and it did not work (it had no effect on what stayed on, I also tried some vanilla items and they also did not stay on):

<meta title="AAF_protectedEquipmentData.xml" version="1.0" dataSet="protectedEquipment"/>
<defaults />

<condition>
    <protectKeyword form="4F000805" source="NezzarSexyOutfitCollection.esp"/>
</condition>

What is the form ID "4F000805" pointing to exactly?

I am guessing from your description below that it is the equipment form ID. That's not how protectedEquipment works. The form ID needs to be pointing at a Keyword form. Then it blocks all equipment that has that keyword.

Quote

I also tried to add my equipment formID to the "equipmentSet id="addEquipmentExample" block like this:

<equipmentSet id="addEquipmentExample">
    <condition isFemale="true">
        <addEquipment form="4F000805"/>
    </condition>
</equipmentSet>

which also did nothing for me. To my understanding this should have equipped the item with that ID right before the animations start.

That example equipmentSet is not called by any animations. So, changing it would have no effect.

You can have that equipment added at the beginning of a position animation by figuring out what the positions "startEquipmentSet" is (typically "unEquip") and modifying that to include this between the condition nodes:

<addEquipment form="4F000805"/>

Just updated to beta 10 and i'm seeing males put into the female position and vice versa. Doesn't happen the first time i select an animation but scrolling down through animations in the wizard the F/M roles will sometimes get flipped.

A simple workaround would be to just select the female as the first actor..  the male will be the dominant in this case.

is that still so?

Should I uninstall fallout 4, delete every fallout 4 folder, and THEN reinstall everything? Maybe it didn't uninstall properly.

Forget that.. toss your computer out the nearest window.. It is broke.. :P

Anyway, I am not an expert but I believe you don't need to have 4play installed to have 4 play mods work. You just need the AAFCP installed (compatibility patch) and make sure you select the 4 play towards the top of the menu when prompted along with any other mods (animations etc) you might have installed at that time. that is the reason for using AAFCP. It places a esp in the load order to cover 4play.  could be wrong. If so to be on the safe side for testing choose a AAF mod instead.

Make sure you have F4SE installed properly in the main folder not data folder (common mistake)  and at least one animation installed with any patches required for that animation. Then test. If you fail at this point then you need to go back to the basics and see where something went wrong.

Finally, might want to consider going here.
https://discord.gg/nUh4YJ

for more live support and coverage. No guarenttes but sometimes there are mod authors and support specialist there doing other work. Might be able to get a pointer or two from them to help move things along.

I think the 905 xml may have a typo or something. 903 works for me. You might try that one if it's still up. I haven't looked into it yet as I haven't needed to so far.

Is there a updated load order for AAF out? so far I get to the screen just as it's just starting to show the debug section showing what animations have loaded and the game freezes. This is all new load for me I've been away from it after having to uninstall and reinstall my game so these are all new fresh saves with no FP or AAF involved.

When that happens are you at the character creation screen? Still covered with steam?

Im so confused :O right now i have:

AAF + AAF Compatibility Patches and other stuff from Installation Guide

and

Four-Play + Four-Play Community Patch

Is it ok in terms of compatibility? and how about dongs of fallout i heard that i have to uninstall it so i did it but dongs are not working(point down).

Seems that everything works fine except dongs.
