I did that trick to prevent my game from updating on steam and breaking all my mods a while back, and haven't touched it since. So now I am thinking of doing a fresh install, do I need to buy the Anniversary Edition dlc?

I can't say for sure that every mod here works but I'm using a lot of them on AE and my build is stable, the only ones I had any real problems with were POP and it's prerequisites and I think that was mod incompatibility, not a problem with AE itself. Take it slow, instal 5-6 and then boot the game to test and you should be good.

The list shows status according to AE, which has now been out for a few months. Some things are still not compatible with it, while nearly everything is compatible with the previous SE version 1.5.97.

You do not need the DLC to get Skyrim SE 1.6. Buying it simply gives you a bunch of CC mods.

It's an SE-only mod with a relatively low number of downloads. Unless people point out those types of mods to me, it'll probably be a while before I begin to discover them for myself.

Not a big deal to me if not, but it's a mod I used before, and it annoys me not knowing why it went down. Especially because it was a really good mod for what it does (better than other alternatives for the same thing IMO)

I have UIE installed, but didn't check the options in the SUM install menu.

I do not. Seems the author has recently returned to LL after a few years of inactivity and is hanging out in a different game-area of the site. I don't see anything posted (publicly) to explain the decision.

 

(and they're not the same author as SL Body Search)

In other news,

  • Milk Sweat and Cum +4 other mods have been taken down. No apparent reason.
  • The Old Warehouse SE has been taken down. The author's account seems to have been slightly redacted.

If i want to use alot of the sexlab mods should i use AE or should i downgrade? i honestly can't figure out if the big stuff like devious devices Works with AE or not.

Staying with AE or downgrading is going to be highly dependent on what mods you want or need. You'll need to decide that for yourself.

 

DD does work with AE.

For DD with AE you need the 5.2 beta file from the troubleshooting post (this link on the first post: beta version instructions) or install the main file (DD 5.1) and grab the AE DLL separately from the beta instructions. The main file by itself does not work with AE.

 

Most sexlab mods should be fine. It's only the ones like DD that have a DLL that you need to check. Pretty much, anything that is orange doesn't work with AE, or you'll need to hunt down a DLL for AE.

I've stuck with SE as there are a number of LL and Nexus mods that do not work with AE. I've used the downgrader mod and then installed SE mods. The only thing to keep an eye out for is when a mod is AE only....

Im currently playing AE with 607 mods an its ok but if you want to feel comfortable go with SE.

No DD works even better with AE. I never was able to have over 1k plugins and many more mods working this great. I've tested this rigoursly on multiple PCs since AE released. Devious Carriages works as is. Just copy the scripts to the source folder as well. DD for AE is amazing. OSL for AE is amazing. Relationship Dialogue Systems, Radiant Prostitution, SLACS+, DirtBloodandCum. You'll find all sorts of things work even better on AE, I mean assuming you aren't using creatures. I never tested that before.

Most mods worth using have either updated to AE or have an alternative.

The ONLY mod I am realistically aware of that doesn't fit into either, is Improved Camera, which is getting an overhauled SE version + an AE version likely within the month, but might be pushed back to July (author seems to be wishy-washy with scheduling things). JOP is "works I guess" and patching hell, and pretty much every alternative doesn't support AE and the author has gone MIA.

 

At this point, using a "downgrader" has functionally 0 benefit, and trying to not update to 1.6.353 is more work than any possible benefit.

This largely depends on each user modlist. Mine still has +20 SKSE plugins that have no AE version atm. So as usual this should be something every user has to inquire and decide on their own.

I have both AE and SE in different folders so i can switch between the 2 freely. it's not that much of a hassle otherwise. but thx
