quin666 Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHsQsYWhwJk What the fuck? Roll out more patchs please.
LukeDuke Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Some fanboys still defending them even if Bioware themselves admits they fucked up the game and promises to fix it? Wow, that is a real commitment
Kargrin Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Hey, they got two months to fix the game... pray they do. Or it will stay the way it is.
bjornk Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 A bug fix that created even more bugs.. hahahahah Means that Bethesda won't feel all alone down there anymore.
FauxFurry Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 A bug fix that created even more bugs.. hahahahah Means that Bethesda won't feel all alone down there anymore. They haven't been alone for quite awhile now. RockStar has been giving them a run for their money in releasing patches that break things fixed by other patches or simply letting game breaking bugs go unaddressed. At least those two companies' games work (kind of), unlike games released by companies such as Luxoflux. Everyone has been mum on this topic for too long and the result is games being shipped out in more and more incomplete states. Then again, the fact that people might not know what company Luxoflux that is means that it isn't always allowed to slide. Still, we could all do with more Bug-Shaming.
NamelessFreak Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Improvements, yet the occasional 'disorientated' horizontal movements of the pupils still persist as well as the partly excessive blinking of the eyes. Partly? The ones in my game emote entirely in blinks. I swear, with some of the design choices, aliens and lizard men must have made this game.
27X Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 To anyone who enjoys the game: Do you now see what value the public shaming of the launch day product had? The improvements made to the game would have never been made if everyone had just accepted what they had been given. Keep this in mind for any future released by any other games studio. Voice your concerns and discontent. It is the only way that some games developers or even the publishers will know for certain that they put out a product in an unacceptable state. They didn't improve the game. They added pre-existing animations from ME3 and 2. They recycled content. They didn't 'fix' anything except for the eye specularity. Addison's lunge is literally the start of Shepard's Rannoch renegade interrupt f and her omg pose with her hand over her face is Liara when she can't figure out how to get shit together after Thessia.

That is somewhat depressing but not entirely unexpected. After all, Mass Effect Andromeda exists entirely because EA wanted to make use of a pre-existing franchise which they already own as opposed to something that a creative team asked them to bankroll.
Chaos63 Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I actually think Bioware is intentionally burning EA's money. I think they know they're on their way out, and are trying to kick EA in the balls as hard as they possibly can before rocketing into the sun. I'm very ok with this.
RitualClarity Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 I actually think Bioware is intentionally burning EA's money. I think they know they're on their way out, and are trying to kick EA in the balls as hard as they possibly can before rocketing into the sun. I'm very ok with this. At least that would explain reasonably why something so poor would be released. Something that should have been caught well back before the pre-release much less full release.
bjornk Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 You seriously think that the talentless hacks left at Bioware would really risk their jobs and careers just to hurt EA a little bit? Don't be ridiculous. The most likely reason is lack of talent and experience, especially at lead artist/developer/producer roles, and that would easily explain this mess. And releasing a game with shitty art assets and bad design decisions are definitely not a QA thing.
Guest Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 So far as I saw the trailers I found all characters made veryy ugly just like the kids in Skyrim. Have no desire to play this game at all (for now).
Guest Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 I've been a fan of ME1-3 and have enjoyed them all with great passion. Apart from the obviously buggy faces and occasional glitch, is there anything else worth hating about the game? Is the story bad? How is the rest compared to the previous games? I wanted to buy this game but days after its release I saw floods of criticism over this game and now I'm not even sure I want to buy it/support a company that half asses these things (I learned my lesson with Fallout 4 but at least we have mods)

I think they know they're on their way out, and are trying to kick EA in the balls as hard as they possibly can before rocketing into the sun. I'm very ok with this. The people whom had issue with EA's takeover are long, long gone. Additionally, EA has used BW E and M as tax sinks since they were purchased, which means if you get a job there, no matter what you do you get paid rather well and are pretty hard to fire. Your theory has zero merit. story The loyalty missions are pretty good, everything else is essentially raw garbage as written by Joss Whedon.

I wanted to buy this game but days after its release I saw floods of criticism over this game and now I'm not even sure I want to buy it/support a company that half asses these things (I learned my lesson with Fallout 4 but at least we have mods) I broke down, bought it and have completed a play through. I too am a long standing ME fanboy (the happy ending mod was enough to get me over the ME3 ending.........barely). However, I'd have to agree with most of the posters here, the main story sucks, the bulk of the writing is childish at best and it feels more like a fetch quest filler game for the obsessive compulsive completionist type. I have zero desire to replay the game. Zero! I'm still struggling with that. I have a new Mass Effect game and I can't even force myself to play it through again. It is almost surreal. Think of it, a bioware game with crap writing and a crap story. It is enough to almost make you give up on gaming. As to comparing it to the rest of the games.......this game is just that.......the other 3 games....pretty much cut and pasted with a few cosmetic changes into another galaxy. Other than the kett and the angorans, there is nothing at all new. Nothing. Not even a witty story with twists and turns. Just ME 1 with spectre dead (renamed to pathfinder) and bang... your the new one and the race in the mako to catch up with the bad guy....yep......its back....you just have 2 more wheels this go round. ME 2 with you trying to beat the archon to meridan.....except with no real sense of urgency AT ALL, to save all the worlds. Loyalty missions, as was mentioned are only really cool aspect carried over from ME 2. Then a horribly done fleet battle, a la ME 3 at the end with a ME 2 style boss battle at the end. Instead of fighting a reaper directly.........you battle an architect and some minions. Its like they were completely unable to generate a single original thought. Just sat around in a room and cut this from that game and that from the other games and slapped some new races/genders on things and here you go.....ME A. I wanted so very much to like this game...........I just can't. The animations are just the tip of the iceberg in what is wrong with this game. Insert here Darth Vader's "Noooooo!!!!" My advice, wait till the thing is 20 bucks or so and then buy it. You'll have more fun with it and hate yourself less. Unless you are into the Multiplayer portion. Then you might be a bit happier.
Aria Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 There was an interesting read on RPS not long ago, talking about how they could have made use of some of the issues that arise when establishing a new society, like it was in The Expanse series. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/04/04/i-wish-mass-effect-was-like-the-expanse/
prinyo Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 This video discusses the fact that MEA leaves 5 (five) different plot lines open. It also mentions the possibility of a story-based DLC that would expand on some of them. This made me wonder if Bioware will pull a Trespasser on the fans again. ------------- On the gay topic. As much as I hate Gil he does have a nice ass as seen in this very short video. :-) And a collection of memes about his faghag.

Wow thank you so much for the input. I think will be waiting when it goes on sale. I still want to play it because it is stil mass effect I guess but wouldn't want to drop so much money on something that's mediocre. I didn't even pay full price for FO4 and I enjoy Bethesdas games more than Bioware.
Chekist Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I actually think Bioware is intentionally burning EA's money. I think they know they're on their way out, and are trying to kick EA in the balls as hard as they possibly can before rocketing into the sun. I'm very ok with this. And now we have news of Bioware Austin working on a new KotoR game. Same Bioware studio in Austin that fucked up SWTOR expansions (meaning that storywise the expansions were nowhere as good as vanilla game stories, made by Bioware Edmonton). I wonder what's so important Bioware Edmonton is working on, that they left their big franchises that made them tons of money in the past in hands of Bioware Montreal and Bioware Austin... It's either they are going all in with some new game and don't care about their other ip's in hope that it will make up for the past 5 years of Bioware going downhill as a brand, or they are deliberately trying to sabotage EA...
Chaos63 Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 There's this one thing that mostly only the hardcore fans(or former fans) of the series, no, actually of Bioware in general, will notice. It's those little seemingly insignificant animations people do when speaking. You all know that little head nod animation our huge krogan friend used to do when telling us stories in ME1. And ME2. And ME3. And most recently, it's been seen even in Inquisition and by the looks of it found it's way into Andromeda as well. Now, don't get me wrong, I love that little animation, it makes me remember my old war buddy everytime I see it get recycled, but...I mean really? 4 fucking games and counting, you're telling me you don't have enough mojo to create something new? It's just a little near-insignificant thing, but it really tells you all you need to know about the company.
sora3 Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 As noted by others, most of the guys that were in Edmonton had left for other studios so most of the core creative team that made ME great had gone. Also, Montreal was in charge of ME3 DLCs and MP along with some Inquisition DLC which meant they were totally out of their depth when charged with making Andromeda since they had zero (literally zero) experience in making a full game on their own. I agree that Andromeda felt like a greatest-hits of the ME trilogy in one as gregathit has said. It's a shame that ME will be remembered for this buggy PoS instead of the great trilogy that I've enjoyed the most.
