Hey for some reason, I cant use my bodyslide preset on devious devices in fallout 4. Like the preset doesn't show up at all.


It shows up with other outfits and in outfit studio, but not in bodyslide with DDs

Depend on information, what you gave to us: wrong mod installation.

I installed the RC9 Devious Devices. And, no, the mod works, all textures and outfits build when used with a preset, but the preset that works on most of the other outfits like VTAW don't show up at all when trying to select with DD. Not to mention, the CBBE Physics body doesn't work as well.

Hello,

 

Any help will be welcomed.  I have a character that is stuck with the white leather straitjacket device.  The problem that I am running into with this mod is the 'timer'   First it is 4 hours, then the character has to wait because it is exhausted, then 3 hours, the character is exhausted have to wait again, another 4 hours to make another attempt.  My character was defeated at 1pm and now I am having to keep going through the same function and now the mod wishes that I wait until 4 am to try and get out of the restraint at that time.  

 

There has to be a way for me to disable that damn time clock nonsense.  I could not use console commands to unequip the item, and I don't see any instructions in the mcm under debug or any other setting to allow me to continue playing the game normally.  I can't access any of my equipment or loot that was taken by the enemies that had initially defeated me, so I am stuck with Rex and Strong not able to go down the 2nd lift of Trinity Tower.  Again, any help is welcomed.  Most mods require Devious Devices, perhaps the older version was more suitable for my type of playstyle.

I am wondering if by removing this mod that I can gain full motion of my character again?  I was wondering if trying to find the older versions of this mod and using one of those instead of this version would give me the ability to unequip devious devices that won't unequip.  This mod keeps adding additional hours to the timer.  My character has been locked in this straitjacket with the key in the inventory, yet the mod refuses to allow the character to unequip the gear.  The character does not have any handcuffs or any other devices, yet it is now 27 hours game time since the defeat and devious device was added.  I am now supposed to wait again and give it another 3-4 hours before attempting again to unlock this one devious device, straitjacket.  The AP for my character is gone and I now have to use console commands to keep the character fed and hydrated until the timer eventually allows the removal/unequipping of the device. 

 

It seems as though this mod has actually caused my game to feel less immersive due to the long extended timers that keep resetting, I hope that there is a way to bypass this function/feature or I am going to have to start yet another gameplay again but with a lot less mods as many of the survival and defeat mods seem to require this mod.  Really hoping someone can help me out, I hate wasting so much time on something that should really be insignificant.

DD doesn't have physics. 

You can add your preferred preset to the DD group via the group manager, as long as it's not a fusion girl preset, don't think that will add. But if it does, it wont build correctly anyway.

Nope. But you will break your save.

The easiest way is to get master lockpick perk and just pick the locks. And just leave the difficulty at the default.

 

Oh, and NEVER use the console to remove locked items as it wont terminate the attached scripts thus leaving you with a mess.

Install Sex Attributes and/or DD bench unlocker and use either one of those to remove your devices, if you remove Sex Attributes after though it *may* break your save, (It may not, I've never done it so I am unsure, you'd probably want to use the Resaver if you do that to be sure), but if you wanted immersion you'll probably end up keeping it anyway. 

 

You can use set "fpa_value_willpower to (0-100)" ,without brackets or " " in the console to modify your willpower in SA. It's probably the fastest/easiest way to do it if you aren't near an armour bench.

Thank you so much for your suggestion.  I didn't realize that the master lockpick perk would circumvent this mod's scripts, I thought it was all based upon chance.  I had issues with Devious Devices before, but never to this extreme!  Normally it would give me 3 timer delays at the most.  But this time, it went on for over 3 days and then I gave up and decided to begin a new playthrough.  I do still have my original saves and game play though so I can jump back in and do as you had suggested.  Thank you so much!!!!

I am so glad that I had posted my issues on this thread.  I had no idea about the DD Armorbench Unlocker mod, that is going in my next game without question.  Also, I have Sex Attributes I know that when my character has a lot of willpower 'she' can unlock various lockpick levels.  I do not recall it giving me that option when 'she' is in Devious Devices, most of the time though the willpower is probably tanked by the time I get defeated.   I will copy the console command "fpa_value_willpower to (0-100)" and use it as a last resort if I am in that weird situation where the Devices keep jamming or the timer keeps resetting. 

 

I can't thank you and IzzyKnows enough for your help.  I think I became too spoiled from my Skyrim version of Devious Devices that after so many hours I needed some help with this version of Devious Devices.  You 2 were there for me, and I truly appreciate you.

Set in DD MCM difficulty to 9  - it's more easy mode. Timer is 1 hour, part of timers are removed, keys break less and i think access to locks now 100% (about this not sure).

If you already in dress, MCM difficulty not changed only for new equipped device.

Is there a way to get a better blindfold effect? I feel like even at 100% I can see too much since all it does is blur things a little. Is there something that makes the world darker or the blur heavier?

I use darker nights at the darkest level, and with the blindfold set at 100% at night, good luck seeing anything.

Also, turn off character lighting, which is stupid to start with. There's probably a mod to do it, but I just use the AutoExec.txt (found/placed in the root Fallout4 folder) with cl off in it.

The game runs it every time you load up.

Thank you for this solution.  I have written down your reply so that I can refer to it as instructions.  I was actually trying to figure out the difficulty settings in the MCM.  My Devious Devices MCM pages seem a bit wonky.  I recall that the settings used to be more straightforward, I don't know if it may be due to the more updated patches, but I had a hard time just trying to figure out the difficulty mode.  I seemed to have seen something in the MCM setting showing that I had it set to "Normal" but then I couldn't find that particular 'page' under Settings again, really odd.  So, yeah, I am jotting down all of the info that all of you had provided to me.  Thank you very much!

Turns out that when I went back to the playthrough and went to the Settings, this time it did show the difficulty slider for me.  The damn setting was on Hardcore (Extreme), anyone whoever met me do not walk away thinking, "Hardcore" and "Extreme."  I typically always keep the difficulty settings set on whatever the Default setting is, since I play Fallut 4 either on Very Hard or Survival.  (Skyrim SE always on Legendary).  So, that was the answer!!!!  I put the difficulty level as you had stated all the way down to 9 which is considered Simple - Very Easy and I was able to easily get out of the damn straitjacket after days of standing around Trinity Towers.  If I can get that particular setting to show back up in the MCM again, I will most likely move it back to whatever the recommended Default setting is "Normal" or what have you.  Nonetheless, that brought me back to my earlier playthrough which had tons of unlocked settlements.  Thank you so much!

It's an option from within the MCM of SA, but you can also bind it to a hotkey for easy access, it doesn't show up as a default option for unlocking, you can also change the willpower cost too if you find it too forgiving/unfair.

I'm getting a bug that enables a permanent gag effect on my character. I don't have anything equipped at all, and have even unequipped everything through console commands, but when I talk to anyone my character has the gag voice lines. Meaning I can't do anything at all. I can't talk to anyone, I can't continue quests, I can't continue story, I can't talk to companions, settlers, etc. So far the only fix I've found is to completely start a new game..please tell me there's a way to fix this

First NEVER unequip DD items via the console, it doesn't terminate the attached scripts. Which is your issue.

Soooo.... craft a gag, equip it while manipulating the locks for easy removal, exit the Pip-Boy for a few seconds, go back in and remove it. If you're using DD 2.0 and not RC9, after removing it you need to scroll up to the top of the armor list and click the (remove before exit) or something like that. It's been a long time, I forget exactly what it says, but it's always at the top.

Next issue: There's a grace period after trying to talk the first time. Quickly try again and you should be able to talk normally.

Now that little feature isn't included in the KFT devices.. you're just stuck until you remove the gag/hood.

Well that's the problem. I have boston devious helper and sometimes someone removes stuff for me. I'm not sure if that's the issue but when those hoods/gags/muzzles etc are removed, even if it's KFT, the scripts still stay. Even if I physically don't have any gags in my inventory

The option how to resolve the problem:

Obtain appropriate DD item and equip it. Select manipulate the lock to ensure you can unequip it easily next time. Unequip it in PipBoy. Check the result. Equip/Unequip once again, if not succeed. 

 

 

By equipping DD item appropriate script is attached to the actor. So if actor has the script attached then it will not be attached once again after DD item equipping.

By unequipping DD item in PipBoy appropriate script detached properly. Well, most of the times %)

Does that work with any DD gag or do I have to find the specific one that triggered it?

It depends. You need gag that has same script that causes "gag effect" you mentioned.

Ideally - you need same DD item that character wearing before "gag effect", but in practice - gags uses same script, so you can use any of them.
