Are people on not Twitter still arguing over Bridget's gender? Bridget is Bridget. What's there to argue? Are you questioning if you're gay? If you're asking that yes probably. Either way fapping to a cartoon does not make you blind and neither does fapping in general.

If this "debate" lasts any longer I'm calling it the Schrödinger's Bridget.

For those that don't know Bridget is a character in the Guilty Gear series namely the Guilty Gear Strive and ah who am I kidding? If you know you know.

Hmm, wasn't the original Godzilla from a Japanese film maker as well?  I remember watching it with English subtitles when I was very young.    Also, Japanimation ruled my Saturday morning cartoons (loved War of the Worlds), as I thought Scooby Doo was too hippie, The Flintstones was too much 50s-ish and Casper was too freaking peaceful.   So America will do what it does best and innovate (or shameless steal) its way back on top.    To steal from one is plagiarism, to steal from many, now that's research.

One interesting note, while it may be true that Hollywood execs were trying to find the next "animated star wars", BoP predates Star Wars in its primary form.

Godzilla is from Toho productions, the company who many younger American probably know primarily for adapting My Hero Academia to animation. Battle of the Planets/G-Force was originally GatchaMan, a production from Tatsunoko who many from outside of Japan probably only know from their crossover videogame with Capcom.

As far as Star Wars popularizing tropes pioneered elsewhere, even the 'Masked antagonist is the secret relative of a crew member who is a former princess of a fallen kingdom' as well as the 'secret twin sibling' trope were both used by Mobile Suit Gundam before they were used in Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back. It may be a coincidence or perhaps it is homage.

Star Wars most certainly borrowed from Flash Gordon and Lensman (a bit too much under Disney's stewardship), though. Sci-Fi serials were some of George Lucas' formative science fiction experiences.

If you actually want to understand the controversy, the resources are available to grant said understanding to you now. By that, I mean extensive video essays.

The wheels are already coming off The Wheels Of Time season 2.

Not watched any of it yet, I'll wait for the season to end and have a bingerooney.

The shills are fighting a valiant rearguard trying to defend the indefensible.

I watched this girl's vids on Ring of Power and I like her humour.

This guy is clever and funny.

Kurosawa's influence on Lucas caused his work to be one of the biggest influences on science fiction despite all of it being either historical dramas, reworked Shakespeare or Western cowboy flicks reimagined as Samurai films.

It just serves as proof that tropes are not tied to genres so much as genres are made up of clusters of tropes. The substance of Star Wars is owed to the ilk of Heinlein, Smith and Raymond but its form is Kurosawa interspersed with random clips from World War 2 movies.

Isekei has this great idea of creating a new world with new rules. But authors of books have already been creating fictional worlds for centuries without the need for deadly trucks. But Marvel has the opposite problem in which Marvel characters never leave the Marvel Universe. Hell have they even left the Spiderverse yet? I'm not sure what DC is doing right now. Last I heard they were doing some DC Knight Terrors with no room for other books. DC, Marvel what the fuck are you doing? The publisher Image on the other hand is absolutely perfect(RELEASE YOUR F*****G BOOKS ON TIME! I'm looking at you Saga.) no flaws whatsoever.

I can only imagine what stupid bullshit these publishers were doing back in the day.

Tomorrow (well, technically today, as it's 12:27 a.m for me) is my 3rd girlfriend, Valerie's, 23rd birthday. I have something very special planned for her, but I'll keep it a surprise until the following day for anyone who cares to know.

Nexus is already drawing up a permanently stickied article about 'problematic' and 'harmful' SF mods.

rather easy to guess what those are

It is just an inconsequential option unless one provides another even more optional alternative.

Both "pronoun" related SF threads in which I replied here also vanished into thin air. Either deleted by the OP or by a Nexus level of censorship.

Yesterday was Valerie's first real birthday. We watched the Lord of the Rings movies (extended editions, of course), made chicken quesadillas for dinner, and had strawberry cake for dessert. I showed her some more modding stuff when we took a break from the movies because Valerie had never sat that long while watching anything. For her presents, we bought her a PC gaming setup, some new clothes, and some other things. I made her a ring from sterling silver and a .5 carat diamond, then I engraved into the band "we will always love you."

Ok the fiction column is some other place , really a 50 carat diamond?! How would that even fit in a ring?!

Everything was fine till that statement and if it makes you angry with me, so be it but 50 carat!

maybe .50 to 1.5.....Just sayin

Ever heard of industrial diamonds?

that comment doesn't even merit a comeback.   Why so defensive, not even your comment.

That's what my grandfather called it. After doing some research, I do think it was probably a .5. It was a diamond he gave me and I didn't really question it because I don't normally mess around with gems that much. I've used them for ornamentation on knife and sword hilts and for jewelry making from time to time, but I don't usually fool around with what type they are. Shit, I didn't even know what a "carat" was until the research I did just 3 minutes ago. I'll have to call my grandfather later to ask him why he thought it was a 50.

> Seeing more and more shots from games with applied AI in my fave threads, I wonder if this is the end of wonderful era of mods and ENB.? If so, I frankly feel sorry for all the modders who took the time to beautify/enrich these games with the fruits of their labor.:classic_sad: I don't mean to complain, but fun with  AI is getting more contagious and makes that the LL  approaching a likeness of rule34' site in some way. My apologize for that I said about this and brought up a sensitive subject / matter, but.. That's how I see it.

You're cool. I called my grandfather to ask him about that, and he said that it was a mistake on his part. He sent it to me from where he lives and forgot the "." in the ".50" in this note that he mailed with the diamond. I asked him why he wrote it as 50, and he said it was just habit.

Either way, Valerie loves the ring.?
