I wonder do Preppers wish for the end of the world so they'll feel vindicated? I mean, who'd want to live in that hell anyway? I want to go out with the bombs if they ever fall.

It all depends upon the individual. Some of them simply wish to be prepared for hardships which will inevitably arrive in some form or another (especially outside of the more wealthier regions of civilized societies), be it natural disasters, resource shortages/supply chain breakdown or war while others may take the Boy Scout motto to its logical extreme.

One can be sure that a handful of them just want to avoid repeats of easily averted catastrophes similar to the folly of living on the periphery of a temporarily dormant volcano.

Adaptation is the key to survival wherever and whenever some governmental organization or corporation is not doing the adaptation for one's society so those who successfully adapt will be the ones to pass on their genes and culture to people who will eventually become soft and decadent enough to leave themselves vulnerable to the next great cataclysm.

Man-kind is an oxymoron. People wish pain on other people but they refuse to admit it. People are petty that way. Its like their boring day to day life isn't enough for them or something. They tell others and themselves that if you aren't prepared for the alien invasion(or something like that) you are shit out of luck and deserve a world of pain and suffering. Prepping for emergencies is a good idea but hoping for catastrophe is well. How does the saying go? Careful what you wish for because you might just encounter something you didn't prepare for.

I do have one question for you. Is it wrong to wish pain on others?

> An earlier premiere of Ahsoka' series?! Thanks for the info, my friend.? Some members of the Senate, settlers of various planets are afraid or distrust the Jedi. This is typical behavior presented in Star Wars books and games.?

taking more classes, trying to get the house ready to sell and fixing up my daughter's car so it can be sold as well.  At work, trying to secure funding for one of my projects, trying to publish two papers and have to write my year end appraisal (not that it matters, there hasn't been bonuses/cash awards for the worker class for several years now.)

Almost sounds like you're trying to sell your life.

Well, much like the album cover says "Peace sells, but whose buying?"

This video reminds me why I don't get why woke has such a bad rap. The word woke gets such a bad rap when it really just means wake up. Do some research and wake up. This is not some coddling word. It means get out of bed put your boots on, get out to the field and be productive. This video is not about the word woke in particular but it does mention it. It is how drill sergeants are trained to be teachers with expectations not your dommy mommy.

In the past paper-pusher officers became sergeants that cuss at recruits in order to teach them on how to manage combat encounters. The Army rectified it by going back to basics. The army was sleeping like a baby. Now it is not.

Now where could I get a job as a dommy mommy??

Do you base your assessment about Drill Instructors off of the video or other experiences?  There are many that believe the military has become soft, and I am one of those, based on the Airmen that I deal with on a daily basis.  Basic Training is to weed out those that will not just fail when pressure gets high, but who will falter as well.

I agree. If that video shows anything, it's that the Individual is left intact instead of broken down to be rebuilt like the ARMY wants them.

When I was in the ARMY during Basic, the mere thought of someone wearing tennis shoes would get Physical Therapy for the whole platoon! only the Specials would be allowed, (due to the Political Correct times) I cannot say what we called them.

Those who did wear Special running shoes were shown the EXIT as fast as possible.

We wore High top leather boots and carried full field gear ( leftovers from Vietnam) on most of our "Excursions" around the base.

For one, broken can't always be rebuilt and broken soldiers are no good in war. And two, individuals are individuals no matter how much training you give them and if that bothers you so much use drones not like drones as in office workers but actual mechanical drones. If you're talking about follow the leader mentality there is still no reason to be an asshole about it just follow the leader or deal with the consequences but I'll get back to that later. The old idea of speaking softly with a big stick seems to be lost on the military. For those who don't know what that saying means is that speaking softly means showing respect and the stick means using force as necessary. Of course speaking softly also means speaking softly. The military used to feel the need to overcompensate by yelling at recruits when really just showing them the exit(to paraphrase what you said) is enough. The soldiers really don't need more hearing loss. Maybe in times of the Vietnam draft soldiers were treated more like cannon fodder and those that didn't comply would be punished by being thrown into the brig. Ya-know consequences and all that. Nowadays it would be follow military rules or leave the military. But even if the draft was still in effect there is no need to swear or yell. The video mentioned less soldiers. This just means the military needs to be more efficient dealing with combat encounters and Vietnam is not something I would consider efficient. When it comes to tennis shoes those with cozy military desk jobs don't need much more than that. But again dress for the occasion. If your job requires you to march through snow or deep mud and a certain dumb recruit is complaining about getting snow and shit in their tennis shoes kindly show them the exit. Being woke does not mean quit using common sense. Speaking of woke. People need to know their history and I mean their whole history even the ugly parts and those who are against the idea of woke are trying to censor history in schools. The only logical conclusion is that these people are idiots. I will admit the way I saw the military personnel in the video say the word woke like some spoiled rich person who saw dirt for the first time is well concerning. In the video the sergeants were given rifle training. Something you can never have enough when it comes time for actual combat. Also they were shown leadership skills which also something drill sergeants must exhibit when training their soldiers. This is a good start. To be in the military means to protect your country. If basic human decency is too much for you then you are not fit to protect anyone.

Anyway it was an interesting video.
