You mean the US justice system where a congressman can ignore a congressional subpoena with impunity while remaining as the chair of a congressional committee with the power to issue subpoenas? You mean the US justice system that is so transparent that only recently has it come to light how corrupt the Supreme Court judges are? You would have a hard time getting EU members to go for that insanity. 1
Guest Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 (edited) > Watched a few episodes of "Married with Children". What a shitty shallow sexist humor. One thing I couldn't understand was: why Al Bunndy's wife mocked him for working as a shoe seller. Was it one of the lowest jobs in the USA in the '80s and '90s? In our country, it is still garbage man. Edited September 16, 2023 by Evaloves4
---nikoli Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 (edited) I love the fact that I've been locked out of two Yahoo email accounts that I've had for well over a decade because of their company's poor recordkeeping and poorly done looped security features, yet they still have the gall to ask me for money to fix the issue that they've created. --- See ya... Here is a reference so you don't have to do your own search. https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artII-S2-C2-3-5/ALDE_00013096/ Of course, you may have felt a duty to "defend" EU courts, and opted for offense rather than defense. Guest Posted September 17, 2023 Posted September 17, 2023 I just witnessed the best thing ever. Valerie just got home from work and she was crying because her boss was being such a dick to her (and we will be doing something about it). He made her stay late and do everyone else's job while they went home early. Kalyna, Babydoll, and I were beginning to think that something happened to her because she was supposed to be home 2 hours ago. We called, texted, but got no response. Kalyna drove up there and forced her boss to let Valerie leave. We went to her and tried to comfort her, and that was when it happened. Our pet cockatoo, Danny, was out of his cage (because you need to let cockatoos out of their cages from time to time), and he came over to investigate what was going on. He loves Valerie the most and I guess he knew she was upset. He began hopping up and down and making this loud laughing noise. Valerie began giggling, then Danny began whistling a beat from the song "We Got Tonight" by Bob Seger and continued hopping up and down while he did it. We all began laughing. Danny went to Valerie and she petted him. He sat with her while she calmed down. Spoiler Here's the song, if you wish to hear it.

Funny that. Comics and TV are what I mainly argue about. Then again every argument is about comics and TV. Everything else is internet and brochures. Speaking of not America. How is the new king in the UK? Did he fulfil his dreams of retirement yet?
Guest Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 (edited) > The weather forecast has been very inaccurate last several months and it's not the only one, but all of the weather forecast stations. They rarely guess rainy and stormy weather and people stopped to trust them. my prince hates when they say: "It gonna be rain on the Adriatic coast". He says: "Fucking morons, the Adriatic coast is 1777 km long, (it is divided into three areas: South coast, Middle, and North), why can't you tell us where is going to be rainy? If you don't know, stop forecasting!" He was right. They didn't know where it would rain excusing that the weather changes so fast that they cannot predict it correctly. My mom was right in saying: "When I was young, the weather forecast was more accurate. They were rarely wrong. Today, they have all these digital devices and technology and yet they are mostly wrong." And one more: Living on the coast for more than 50 years, my dad learned to "read" the sky; clouds, and the stars. Thanks to it, he was rarely wrong about the weather forecast. Guest Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 (edited) The movie "Blue Beetle" should be tagged as a family and children's movie. Then we, SC-FI fans wouldn't be disappointed. Edited September 19, 2023 by Evaloves4

Perhaps it's just my native cynicism but I've found, over the last few decades, that meteorologists (like newscasters) have simply joined the entertainment industry. To me it seems that the goal is not providing accuracy but the correct spin. This comes in two types. The more common is when they predict good weather when bad weather would be inconvenient, such as, calling for beautiful weather instead of storms when there is a big festival coming up. After all, you don't want to be the person who ruined the festival by telling people that staying home makes more sense. The other type is when bad weather is overblown. A rain storm becomes a monsoon. Light snow becomes a blizzard. This gets more eyes on the screen as the weather comes in and improves the ratings. 2
Guest Posted September 20, 2023 Posted September 20, 2023 (edited) > Two things. First, so far I haven't seen a movie remake that is better than the original, and second, how in the world a random human who lives in a far, far future (20000+) find a vax candle on a deserted alien planet and lighten it with a match which he didn't have it in his inventory? Why do producers of such nonsense think we are stupid and we'll not notice? Just like they show the scenes in which someone is using candles as alternative light sources on a very technologically advanced planet which, of course, is not Earth. If screenwriters who write such scenarios don't have a developed imagination or do not have enough money to make something better, they shouldn't make candle scenes at all. it is an insult to our intelligence. This may sound strange but the first thing that sprung to mind is women's rights. Women have the right to be just as dumb as men. Considering plenty of men volunteer to throw each other into barbed wire for entertainment no less there is a high (or low) bar when it comes to stupidity. I've been trying to cut back on my usual condescending bullshit but I can't help but be honest. Humans be humans.
