No. Humanity is still trying to find a cure.

With no success of course.

> It is interesting how none of these weirdos and psychos have no courage and "inspiration" to go to the police station or military base or in criminal quart to provoke and challenge them, but they always pick on non violent people until some of them snap and do as this hero did. My compliments and praises to the shooter.

Hmm. It's that's true, that's good to know ; but I'm confused about the "socially acceptable thievery" thing. What do you think about that, Eva ?

PS : Malicija ask if that also regards hotels with princes inside. She adds she thanks you. :classic_biggrin:

good news: no brain aneurysm or mass! it turns out my eye problems are most likely related to my actual eye; it would explain the excess of migraine-level eye pain on that side that i was mistaking for an increase in neurological migraines. my neurological symptoms are most likely related to the fact that i started taking a certain medication again, one that gave me similar effects in the past that i forgot about. however the fact that there is pain in my eye at all is a very bad sign. i'm very worried about what could become of my vision, and i'm crushed by this pain recently. i can't even play games :( i have to use small screens for tech stuff and everything i enjoy doing is on tech stuff, usually with large screens. so i'm very bored as i struggle to read with my vision too, so i've been learning how to identify common mammal bones between species on my phone with massive text lol. i can identify other parts more easily, but when it comes to things like leg bones, it can be hard to tell them apart for an inexperienced eye, so i want to learn how to identify them myself.

we were told that no UAE person worked in manual labor (except shop owners), which seemed (to me) to be a bad idea

Heard the same story about rebuilding Kuwait after the 90-91 war.  They have money due to oil, but generation after generation haven't actually done anything for themselves.  All of the skill and labour was brought in, even if it had to be paid well.

Same can be said for a lot of Central American countries.  The locals in the U.S. decry the perceived violence of this society, yet they have no clue just how violent other places are.

Plenty of stories of people coming here, getting the money together to start a business back home, going back to their country of origin, opening their business... and then finding themselves back in the much safer (most of it) U.S. after their business was getting robbed repeatedly.  One account I ran across had this happening literally all but weekly - until they just ran out of funds.  Yes, some places in the U.S. are that bad (Los Angeles, for example), but many (most) are not.

I have to add that there is, in fact, a growing belief in the social acceptability of those without to go to those who have things they have worked for, and just take the results of others' hard work.  The societal unrest of 2020-2021 made that clear, but I've seen it personally on a smaller scale as well.  ('I can't afford this, can I just have it?'  No.  This is a business, not a charity.)

I'm too old to do perfection.

Used to be a perfectionist myself.  It wasn't until much later that I finally figured out that I was hurting myself in thinking that 'If I can't do it perfectly, it's not worth doing.' because that almost always led do 'If it can't be done perfectly the first time, it's not worth doing.'.  That attitude severely limited what I was willing to do in early life; you know, the part of life where you're actually fully capable of doing all kinds of stuff you won't be able to get away with later.

I strongly regret being that way now.  Oh well.

Part of the wisdom that comes with age.  When you look back with any intent other than to learn from the past, you're wasting the time that you have left.  Regret is a waste of time.
