and some images will cause a strong emotional reaction "to do something."  This is labeled a child clings to his cat after escaping death from Putin's troops.  The image, which I have no reason to doubt, is a sad boy holding on to his pet.   A number of reasons could be the reason for this photo, but adding the "escape death from Putin's troops" is the insidious part of propaganda.     Unfortunately, social media now means context cannot be assured, and the initial reaction accomplishes its goal, even if later it was found to be "excessive."
