pantherlux Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 @Loogie: i guess (if not bet!) that there will be mods to restore the old dialog box mode, as long as they dont cut out on screen text at all. dont think it will be like the talking head dialogs like in the older days but still possible in my imagination. in the beginng of new vegas they said "oh damn, companion wheel? whats that? its not possible to make something like that" and it still came up (ok it's not standard in most companion mods i think and a pain in the a...armor...^^ to make it and pretty much another thing than making a onscreen dialog) but i hope you get what i want to say
Guest Real Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Anyone else almost puke when they showed that quick clip of the male run cycle? So gross.
DoctaSax Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 13,000 lines of Dialogue of Player Voice. All that audio dialogue how much space is it gonna take up on a pc? then how much space is it gonna take up on a crap console? 13,000 lines, with lip files, zipped in a BSA, maybe 80 megs, if that.
Gameplayer Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 Anyone else almost puke when they showed that quick clip of the male run cycle? So gross. That'll be immediately replaced by like probably day one of launch by a mod. No worries man going to be fun.
Kendo 2 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 If they have all of that prewar stuff as game content that means making a nice and CLEAN place to live will be a snap, IF FO4 can be modded like previous releases. What i hope they DON'T DO: Body Scaling for characters. It is a rigging nightmare and THE REASON I don't mesh mod Skyrim like I did other Beth games. Animations outside of the engine. PLEASE ditch the Skyrim animation scheme and put them back in the realm of the engine so we can add animations without something like FNIS.
geonosis Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 right now watching the FO4 part of the showcase again and now really seeing the XBOX Controller layout. did they showed it on a Console ?
Guest endgameaddiction Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I would say yes. It looks like this was all done on console footage. Edit: which can mean why we aren't seeing anything about mods as of yet. Something that might be discussed later in the months to come before FO4 launches. Perhaps we have something big coming our way.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I'm just gonna skip Fallout 4. Also DOOM 4, but that's not really relevant.
sora3 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 right now watching the FO4 part of the showcase again and now really seeing the XBOX Controller layout. did they showed it on a Console ? I'd say no despite what people might say. Most gameplay would have been done on high end rigs in order to get the fluidity right. So I'm guessing the gameplay was done on high end rigs, perhaps SLI high end cards even.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Does anyone know where I can pick this video up? I would like to watch the E3 for Fallout 4 again, It seems you need a youtube account to watch it. As in verify age crap.

afa Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 No word on mod is not that unusual, the CK might not release the same day. Plus they also only mention the whole having their own site to host some sort of custom content briefly, it sounds like something the modding community would want to know more about.
GrimReaper Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 The new dialogue system will be a nightmare for modders.

This modding site I'm 90% positive is a way to make sure that people can only mod the game from that site, it's pretty obvious too once you listen to how they word the site and how it works - and what games it's for. Don't get me wrong I want to be able to mod the game from mods here but chances are there will be no sex or fetish mods for the next or future games from Bethesda.

Regardless, where there's a will, there's a way.
bjornk Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Looks like we'll either play as one of the parents or as their child. The latter is okay to me, but I don't like the idea of having to play as not only a married person but also a parent. I find it kinda emotionally restrictive, it immediately sets the tone for the rest of the game. I'd rather be the prisoner with no name.
Cynical Misanthrope Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Some of the stuff they showed gave me a boner. But it's E3, so I bet half of the stuff wont even be in the game. I am trying really hard not to be a pessimist but I have zero faith in developers these days. I won't pre-order, and I won't buy it on release day. Will likely get it a few months/a year later when it (hopefully) been patched. But it's difficult to be a 100% pessimist, when you have the freedom to build your own house and customize your weapons/armor. I don't really care about the PC being voice acted, but if you have the choice to choose different voices (so you can find one you happy with) that is huge plus.

I don't think you have a choice to pick. Todd clearly said in the interview about the male and female voice actor they chose. Honestly I find it hard for them to do 13.000 dialogues and give us the option to use a different voice for each gender. Kinda makes it pointless to go through all that trouble, Still it would be lovely to have those options.

They did say that whoever you last were messing around with in the mirror char creation menu thing you would play as, which doesn't leave a lot to interpretation. Plus I'm really hoping for a 10 - 20 GB install not 20+.
Eth4rlad Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 /v/ on all Chans is currently going Apeshit because everybody is convinced Bethesdas plan of launching a official Platform will bring a return of Paid Mods and an attempt to take out the competition from Nexus, LL and Workshop. Usual /v/irgin paranoia and shitposting but tbh i wouldn't put it past Bethesda to change the Filestructure enough to force inexpirienced Normies to use the official Modmanager that only uses Mods from the official Website.
