Yesterday, found a leak in the roof around a vent pipe, dripping through to the kitchen flourescent light fixture. Lucky enough to catch it before the ceiling drywall was compromised, but I had to get on the roof (about a 26 degree pitch) during a downpour to set up a temporary covering until I could buy the patching materials.

 

The main anger issue was the fact that the roof was redone only a year and a half ago, and hadn't noticed the crappy job the roofers did when placing the vent pipe boot without nailing and sealing the damn thing to the fucking roof!!! It might be under the overlap of shingles BUT it still needs to be redone, AND the rain is not letting up for supposedly another 2 or 3 days!!

 

If no one had been in the house for a day or two, the damage would have been extensive. And since the roofing company used has gone out of business, I would have had to wait for an insurance inspection, so soon before the holidays, until any permanent?! repairs were made!

While I totally agree that neither Triss nor Yen really looked the part when compared to their in game counterparts to call her a "Thing" you had better look every bit as good as Henry Cavill... But I strongly suspect you're actually in a glass house throwing stones... With a trebuchet.

You did see the title of the video right or am I missing some sarcasm?  (It's Bill Maher a former libertarian who went left when he called the 9/11 terrorists brave and the US military a bunch of cowards waaay back in 2002 ish).  Weight control is 70% diet and 30% exercise.    Several factors go into the explosion of weight in the US, but it is mostly cultural.    Alack of activity because walking a mile or even a tenth of a mile is viewed as bad (the car culture that took hold in the 50s, though in the cities it is starting to change due to the expense of parking), every day you can have a "feast", not just on holidays because of the growth of industrial farms ($14.00 for fresh chicken raised cage free and on organic seeds, while teh same amount of chicken raised on a factory farm is only $4.00), the subsidies to corn factory farmers to grow tons of corn which is made into highly processed sugar (which makes everything taste better), etc. etc, etc.     What is NOT true is that there  is a lack of exercise, as there were precious few gyms in the 70s (used primarily by boxers) and now there are at least two in almost every small (10,000 people or so) towns across the US.   

 

So, yes, people need to work out because it promotes health, yes people need to opt not for a "big mac and large fires" (giving you 1030 calories....half of what you need in a day...and that is not an uncommon lunch for several people) and the third and most important part: Gov't subsidies need to go to those farmers who gross less than $500,000 annually.    Food prices would go up, people would cut back.

 

Yea, in a fantasy land, I suppose that will come true.

Oh definitely. I just sometimes like to fry an egg and eat it. Can't quite get that same feeling with the egg beaters. Still, food being dropped is a really quick way to get me annoyed. You don't have to be a writer to say a book is shit.

You don't have to be a game developer to say a game is stupid.

You certainly don't have to be a model to say one isn't all that good looking.

If you exist you can say what you want about someone else or something else, superficial opinions are the least debatable thing out there.

Now if you wanna talk facts, statistics, or other actually debatable things like the technical qualities of a bad game using evidence that's a whole other thing.

I can still say Witcher 3 is shit if I feel like it*, it's my opinion, can I say it's a bad game? Maybe, but I can be debated on it and I'd have to provide a convincing argument.

Titans is another one of these adaptation things that's shitty because of its content, story is bad, characters are fucking wrong, and costume design is lazy and ugly. Same with that Batwoman show. If you portray a character properly you can be any race or colour, species, whatever. This, of course, doesn't take away from someone being fugly. You can comment on that all you want, the show might still be good.

I encourage people to give their opinions on things, yes. It's the internet, grow thicker skin or stay out of it.

It wasn't against the rules to do so anyway, this thread is called "what really pisses you off" not "in detail what characteristics of this particular thing that's taken residence in the forefront of your mind as of late makes you slightly uncomfortable, please explain and show your reasoning." He called an ugly thing a thing. It's reasonable, and if you wanna get pedantic, all things are things, so it wasn't even inaccurate.

Secondly, I decided to give my thoughts on the show because I felt like it, because it was relevant, hence the line break, denoting it was not a direct reply to you, people do that sometimes. I would apologise for my assumption that you'd understand that, given your post history though..

Babylon was trash near the end with all the gimmicks, Camelot too, and I'm expecting Salem to be really bad as well.
