carnifex Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Not to mention, it's not like we're having an overabundance of competent modders that aren't knee deep in their own projects
DocClox Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 @nicetopets: No offence taken. I hope I didn't sound too grumpy @CoCo: Brooks Law: just what I was about to say. Beat me to it. @Badbat111: Basically, most of what I want to do isn't specced well enough to give it to someone else, and the few bits that are aren't easily integrated with the CK. Things have got a lot better since I last tried a team effort, but even so setting up the collaboration for any sort of scripting or dialogue would take a month or two to get working. And then I'd need to spec and assign stuff. It's easier for items and armour since they are mainly stand alone, but quests and dialogue do not cut and paste easily in Skyrim. I have had some useful support from the test team, particularly btn2k3, but there's a limit to how much I can give out to others. @all: Just so folks know: My wife's father has a tumor the size of a laptop power supply growing on his face and neck. He is too old and frail for radiation to do more than delay matters and chemo would just kill him. His life expectancy at this point is measured in weeks. Less if it ruptures the carotid artery, which I gather is a real possibility. My wife's mother is so deep in denial that we've had to buy her an aqualung. She's determined that the two of them are going to live life as normal and as a result is increasingly unable to cope. She's falling apart at the seams on a daily basis. My wife has to pick up the pieces of all of these daily crises. She's living on her nerves right now. My primary responsibility here is to support my wife. I want to get this next installment finished, but family comes first. So things may take a little longer than planned. Meanwhile, having a task list at least gives me (and you) some measure of how close I am to completion. I'd share the bullet points, but that would just spoil the surprise [edit] @carnifex: that too
carnifex Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 My sympathies to you and your wife. I've lost my share of loved ones in the recent years, so I know how tough it can be on everyone involved.
GaiusTerminus Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 So I lured a bandit to his death (via a nearby patrol), then looted his gear. I could only wear what would fit over the things I couldn't remove, so I ended up in iron armor, pony boots, and a ring gag. This is when I learned that the iron helmet is pretty much perfectly suited to wearing with a ring gag.
badbat111 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 you could release whats been done now to let us have some update mod after all all good mods have lots of release dates this way itll keep up quiet while playing with whats been done upto now leaving you time to chill out
windu190 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 you could release whats been done now to let us have some update mod after all all good mods have lots of release dates this way itll keep up quiet while playing with whats been done upto now leaving you time to chill out Doc is a perfectionist, I doubt that's gonna happen. Besides, I don't mind waiting for the whole package About your real life issues, that's rough, you have my sympathies, as does your wife. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say; take whatever time you need.
nicetopets Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I am not sure what to say. There's nothing that will make the situation less horrible. It certainly puts a little (potentional) extra wait in perspective, though. Stay strong.
DocClox Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 @badbat111: If I thought what I had was playable, I'd have released it before now. The trouble is you're liable to have a quest end with your PC ... in a less than playable state, let's say. @all: thanks for the kind thoughts and good wishes. It's probably best if I don't dwell on the subject any further, but thank you all. It is appreciated. Also a bit of good news: got a milestone today. 19 points at 3 days each sees a release in mid-November. Longer than I'd like but heaps better than Easter [edit] The dreaded line eater strikes again...
SoundofDarkness Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I've never commented before, so here goes nothing. To the people who are trying their very hardest to get updates as fast as possible: I downloaded this mod when it still needed to be started via the console. I was hooked then, and I'm only more in love with it as it updates. I've been on LL since SexIS was released, and I've been waiting for good quests that incorporate the mods on this site for about that long. There have been very few real quest mods that aren't 100% immersion breaking. QAYL is pretty much perfectly tailored to my preferences in every way. All of this is to say, believe me, no one is as excited for an update as I am. I have the mod page bookmarked on my phone. Here's the thing though: this is a free service. This is basically a favor Doc is doing just to make us happy and improve our sexy deviant game experience. He could pack up and leave in an instant and he wouldn't be taking anything away from us, because we aren't entitled to his time or work. I've seen a lot of great modders run off because people demanded too much of them and appreciated them too little. Please take the time to consider that Doc is a real human and not a mod-creating automaton. The shit his family is going through is something no one should have to deal with. Compassion, please. @Doc, All of my best wishes to you and yours. I can't imagine how hard this is on you and your wife and her family. I know basically no one reads the mod descriptions, but you might consider putting an announcement that real-life issues are holding back updates to try and curb the questions a bit. Obviously, we are all very excited and enthusiastic, but this has to grate on one's nerves.
DocClox Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 Thanks for the kind thoughts. Adding a note to the download page is a good idea. I should probably add that all the comments on deadlines and delays I've seen I've taken as good natured leg-pulling. I don't have the best track record when it comes to finishing these things, and a little cynicism is entirely understandable. I just wanted people to know that this was a little more serious than "the dog ate my homework"
just_Gina Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Family first....period. Prayers and best wishes for you and yours.
warpath246 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I agree that family always comes first no matter what.
Content Consumer Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I've been quiet so far, because there really isn't anything I can say. It's not something you just ignore, and it's not something you just get over. All I can do is reiterate that which others have already said... family comes first. Yes, it would be wonderful to have an update, but I'm pretty sure everyone understands that things happen in RL that take time away from modding... and your priority should be your family. Just... mod when you need a break. Playing Skyrim has helped me get through some rough patches. p.s. The proper way to share a bullet-pointed list is as follows: * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * Finish item #3 on previous list * [redacted] * [redacted] * Add in the new stuff from [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * Double-check functionality of [redacted] by engaging [redacted] * Approve [redacted]'s work on [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * Add in the new script as [redacted] suggested * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * [redacted] * Finished mod!
DocClox Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Thank you all I'd also like to point out that last night I finally got [redacted] on the damn [redacted] and I'm about half a dozen dialog entries from finishing the whole damn scene. And if I'd known it would turn out that [redacted] difficult to get right, I'd probably have done something else. Still, this means I'll finally be able to put [redacted] to bed and start work on [redacted] in earnest. You're right - that does make life easier [edit] Now something is eating my [redacted] smileys. Assume I was grinning like a [redacted] while I wrote that [edit] [redacted]
dwellerindarkplaces Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 @ DocClox Hope you're as OK as can be under the circumstances. Best wishes to you and the family
DocClox Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 I just finished the first quest in the next release. One down and two to go. But at least one of them is a lot less complex. Both of them with any luck at all.

DocClox Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Mod organizer is well worth the effort for this sort of thing. I just wish I could use it when scripting.
AdorableDeviant Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Well, I think I found an issue that might just bring my game to an end. I know, I know, fair warning and all that, and honestly, I'm not entirely pleased with how my character came up anyway, so it's only a minor disappointment that my saved game ran into this problem, but I figured I'd mention it so it can get fixed for other versions. The debuff of this mod did not remove itself after completion of the run, namely the debuff locking me at very high arousal and preventing me from finding relief. I wouldn't normally call that TOO bad, but with Deviously Cursed Loot, and no method of relief, that brings the adventures of Luxrina, the rubber-clad mage, to a screeching halt. I did enjoy your mod, but I feel that this isn't quite what you had in mind, and something that should be dealt with. Also, I don't know how hard this is, but I was curious if you'd consider adding some addons for those ladies who feel a little coverage is all the more tempting than nakedness? I'm rather fond of my Shiny Rubber Catsuit mod, and would adore making my squeaky way across Skyrim all rubbered up. Don't worry, I promise it doesn't hide much at all, or get in the way...

The debuff you mention is intentional. While you bear the marking, you are permanently at high arousal... unless you are in the cage at the end of the run. Only there does an orgasm bring anything but momentary relief.

While you bear the marking, you are permanently at high arousal... unless you are in the cage at the end of the run. Only there does an orgasm bring anything but momentary relief. Therein lies the problem. The debuff lasted after the conclusion of the race. Unless the game intends me to run back to that cage EVERY time, which I find somewhat... odd? Plus I don't have slavetats or anything, so I have no way to remove it, even using the QAYL warehouse.

Plus I don't have slavetats or anything, so I have no way to remove it, even using the QAYL warehouse. You should have gotten one bottle of solvent after the race's conclusion. The other tattoos are (also intentionally) permanent... whichever you don't scrub off. Have you gotten the quest to find more bottles of solvent? It's impossible to complete right now, but there is a workaround... teleport to the cell (sorry, can't remember the cell ID, it's somewhere in the thread) and use the "remove all tattoos" button. This will be changing in the next release of this mod (possibly this year, possibly by April next year, depending on how RL goes for DocClox), there will be an opportunity to get more bottles of solvent through the quest. More and different runs, new item(s), etcetera... we're all looking forward to it. Join us in anticipation! EDIT: The cell's name is "qayl_warehouse" and the button is called something like "Emergency Tattoo Remover." EDIT 2: Reread your post, you already know about the warehouse. Sorry. EDIT 3: If you don't have slavetats, how are you seeing the tattoos at all?

Unless the game intends me to run back to that cage EVERY time, which I find somewhat... odd? Masturbating in that cage should get you 24 hours relief, more or less. The problem is that you use up most of the grace period from the initial orgasm waiting for the cage to open. But there's nothing to stop you fast traveling back to Northwatch when you need further relief. And yes, it is a little odd. Almost as if someone was trying to train the player to certain patterns of behavior...
