Content Consumer Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Damn I want to drop a spoiler on whats in store for the player.... but no no no I'm not going there (kinda want to, but I'm not). Okay a little hint... you get something red to wear, kinda skimpy, and well I'll stop at that... Tease tease... Ooh... ooh... I wanna guess next! It's, uh, a new piercing?

Okay a little hint... you get something red to wear, kinda skimpy, and well I'll stop at that... Tease tease... Ooh... ooh... I wanna guess next! It's, uh, a new piercing? Hope not. Those never line up for me. Using nifskope, I (finally) managed to get them to line up... most of the time... along all of the axes... but there's still a little problem. They're too far apart. That is, they're in the right position and would sit nicely on the nipples, except the nipples are closer together than the piercings. And I can't figure out how to get nifskope to treat the two piercings as separate meshes. So I've given off using them. And, of course, they won't work at all if you (for some reason) want your breasts to be different sizes. Hmm... different sized breasts. Now I wanna go play an ugly, hunchbacked, malformed caricature of a human, tormented by others for her hideousness, but possessed of heart of gold. Bonus points if she's deaf. Triple bonus points for wearing those "bell" earrings.
Koffii Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 It must be red shoes. Wasteland 2 has red shoe DLC, and that's a great game to follow.
GaiusTerminus Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Every time I start this quest I get the "Hostile Traveler" random event immediately. The reason this sucks is because I haven't had a chance to fight out of the armbinder yet and the random traveler isn't on the Deviously Helpless faction list. I am sort of astounded about how I get the same random event 100% of the time.

If you're talking about that bandit-riding horse that's just north of the Riften gate, I don't think that's a random encounter. I'm pretty sure that's vanilla. EDIT: Or possibly horse-riding bandit. Bit of a Freudian slip there. EDIT 2: I wonder if this is ever going to be finished: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/24654-wip-alternative-riding-styles/

I am sort of astounded about how I get the same random event 100% of the time. I think that's vanilla, I get them too. There's usually a sabrecat or werewolf/bear around too, which means I often get the horse and charge off across the map in ten minutes. If this start point is in the next version maybe Doc can delete that spawn point. There needs to be a SexLab event for riding a horse, naked or otherwise, I know someone's done something but that's standalone and doesn't relate to the framework at all. More than just the text notification, I mean.
DocClox Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Yeah, that dude there is vanilla. The race and gender is random, but always hostile and always mounted. If you stay up by the gate you can generally avoid notice. Or take a sharp left and up to Stendar's Beacon, which gives you plenty of time to struggle. Or mmph at the vigilants if you want. Just watch out for the frost troll if you go that way.

I just stopped using it because the audio started to get really repitive repetetive repetetve reptilian I heard the sounds too often.
windu190 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I just ran past him till I eventually ran into a group of necromancers, ran past them too and they started fighting eachother, giving me a chance to escape.
GaiusTerminus Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I knew he's vanilla, but I thought he was supposed to be randomly placed like, for example, the revelers or the old orc. That's why I got confused as to why there was always one in roughly the same place.
afa Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 But you are suppose to get beat up while tied then another mod trigger and fun times happen!
DocClox Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 I suppose the simplest solution would be to just add him into a faction DH recognises. Maybe stick an alias on him and apply the keyword that way. [edit] OK. That chap looks like he's supposed to be a world encounter, but he's hard-coded in place and only used in that one spot. So I've taken the liberty of adding him to the bandit faction, just so DH knows what to do with him In other news, DDx is going to be a requirement for the next release, if only to use the new pony boots. As regards progress ... well, I've ticked off one of my bullet points. There was a nasty little bug I needed to find and some RL to deal with, so hopefully I can pick up the pace a little. If not - one point a week sees me releasing some time around Easter. I remain optimistic, however

nicetopets Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I'm quite the lurker on this board, but QAYL compels me to step out of the shadows for once: I love the mod. In the current version there is not yet all that much to see I suppose, but I'm hooked by the sheer amount of promise that oozes from it. Everything I've read on the planned features seems quite in line with what I would like to see. I would find it pretty cruel however, if distractions really push a new version back to easter. And not in the good way. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that.
Content Consumer Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I am forced to agree. Easter would be bad. Earlier would be better. If it's not in by April 3, at the latest, I will personally send you a picture of myself crying, and you will feel sad because you will have made someone cry.

Given the tone of this mod, I'm pretty sure knowing he's making people cry will just encourage him...
DocClox Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 Believe me, no-one wants a fast release more than I do. After all this work, I want to see people's reaction. But it takes as long as it takes, and sometimes things that are simple in my head turn out quite complicated in reality. That said, I really don't think it'll take a week for each item, just that the first one has been disappointingly time consuming. Ongoing RL issues are not helping one little bit, either.
badbat111 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 so why not get a group of people who know what there doing to help out like any buisness they have departments to focus on seperate parts say if you want to make a few parts 1 person handles 1 part a diffrent person handles a diffrent part then once they have the parts done they give to you you put them in them let the testers try them out if testers find no flaws and stuff a fast release can be done
nicetopets Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Oh, I'm quite aware of how difficult it is to predict the amount of work that is required to create something. I hope it didn't sound like I'm ungrateful for all the effort that goes into a mod like this. I'm just genuinely hooked and left wanting more. Just keep up the good work and may the RL issues dissipate.

There's actually a mostly-accurate mathematical formula for it (mostly accurate in that it works most of the time)... I can't remember where I found it, though. It's probably in one of my programming books somewhere. EDIT: Book is The Mythical Man-Month. You can just look up Brook's Law on wikipedia. It doesn't have a math formula, though... and I could have sworn I saw one somewhere. Oh well.
