The fact that no one has ever sent me a message telling me it was wrong pretty much shows how little demand the MaleActor stuff has...

And that's a damn saddening thought. Especially since it will likely affect how modders make their mods (i.e. some mods triggering lesbian animations on a male orc ).

I think the lesbian animations have as much to do with Sexlab in general and less Apropos. Which animation is selected is based on how the modder calls for an anim, and if none match what is requested, one is picked at random.

I've gotten more than a few purely lesbian animations for MF couplings, but short of just disabling those in the Sexlab MCM, I'm not sure what else to suggest to you.

My tough male orc is saying something to extent of "My man something something something"... not verbatim I assure you.

I'm just curious why my tough manly orc is triggering this in straight animation.

Probably because that line was written incorrectly.

I'm not exactly sure how this works but I believe that in heterosexual description files, {PRIMARY} is always the female and {ACTIVE} is always the male, for every description file I have looked at thus far.

Switch over to the male description files (MaleActor_Female_Vaginal_Stage4.txt) and we see

"({ACTIVE}) Uhhh... Ahhhh. You're so much better than my man...",

"({PRIMARY}) It's not a safe day... I could get pregnant... And no one would know it was yours..."

Both lines are clearly supposed to be spoken by the female actor, but one is going to put the wrong actor's name in the ().

To those of you whom have tried the beta, would you recommend upgrading to the beta, or should I stick with the last release?

It has now been corrected, although I'm trying to finish off a few animations before I release another version.

The Witcher 3 will probably (definitely) slow me down a little (a lot).

Ah, I actually did mention this mistake a while back, I just couldn't remember the exact line and didn't know where to find it. Also when it actually happened, gooser made a post saying that Apropos currently catered to female player characters, so there wasn't much I could do about it.

I'm still working on editing the Loving database. I haven't even STARTED using the filenames like FemaleActor_Female_whatever.

And I'm wondering now if I should be starting to switch over. As an example of a FF animation I can trigger breastfeeding pretty easily so that's what I've been looking at.

I have debug, trace, and the other extra information enabled in Apropos MCM. It still doesn't tell me what file it's looking for. I get this:

So my female PC (Li) is sucking on female follower, Hikari's breasts. Hikari is in the [0] position. Li is in the [1] position.

If this is simply due to FF not really working yet, then I should probably just move on and work on something else. But that issue with the files being looked for.... not showing up... is bugging me because I don't know what file to write.

I think, from the similar trouble I've had, that FF support wasn't finished and was the price we paid for having the widgets and new features available early.

From some of the other posts, it might also depend on the particular tags the animation has, so sometimes female vaginal gets called and sometimes lesbian. I've had a couple call foreplay too, though I'm not sure why at all.

What is the file naming for lesbian ? I have an animation tagged lesbian, and the log says it's to play FemaleActorFemaleLesbian descriptions, but since it isn't telling me what files it's actually looking for, I don't know what the naming structure should even look like.

Right now for my little test run with FF breast feeding, It appears that the following is happening:

Female PC is being slotted as both Active and Primary

The description being accessed is FemaleActor_zjBreastfeeding\FemaleActor_zjBreastfeeding.txt

-- it accesses that one file for all stages EXCEPT Orgasm. Apropos is reading FEmaleActor_zjBreastfeeding_Orgasm.txt for the Orgasm stage.

-- I do NOT have Animation Start Messages enabled (normally that's where it would pick up the base FemaleActor_zjBreastfeeding.txt file)

So.... a little weird, but... it is what it is for now, I guess

OH! And for Themes I have everything set to 0 except Loving theme, so it's only looking in the Loving theme directory

** EDIT **

AND.... if this same animation plays for 2 NPCs, NEITHER of which is the player character... it assigns ACTIVE and PRIMARY correctly, but still only chooses description lines from FemaleActor_zjBreastFeeding.txt (doesn't use stage files) until it gets to Orgasm, at which point it uses FemaleActor_zjBreastFeeding_Orgasm.txt.

So.... just..... weird

It appears that there might be a problem. My MCM for Apropos is broken. Not only does it have nothing in its own menu, but it also disallows entering other MCMs until I reenter Pause menu. It's also possible it disallows installation of other MCMs, but that is only a chance in need of checking. I'll try to see if it is true or not.

Edit: It's not true. Another mod was the culprit.

Edit 2: Although it still poses problems. If I completely uninstall and reinstall it, when I enter the game, I get a CTD when it tries to install its MCM.

That is the link with the info I'm trying to go from, but I'm not understanding things correctly, I'm sure, beyond stuff not working completely.

I do get "FemaleActor_Female\FemaleActor_Female_Vaginal*" lines to play, and last night I finally figured out that like you found, I am getting my "femaleActor_female_Lesbian.txt" file playing 3 times in a row if it gets picked. "femaleActor_female_Lesbian_Orgasm" plays when it should.

I think having a unique animation file changes things a little, but I'm not sure how much or how.

Also, if my PC is the Primary, names are setup correctly. When she is the Active, she is also primary. Try hitting = or which ever your switch position key is, and see if it names them correctly on stage 2. Mine always does.

Switching positions just puts the player character in the ACTUAL position of PRIMARY. If she starts this animation as primary, then the names get assigned correctly.

I was looking back through my last log, and found good examples of what I was talking about.

This first clip between PC and Haelga I swapped their postions in stage 1, and they were named correctly after that. Unless you meant in your post that Haelga's name was showing up, but in the wrong position? It wasn't just that the PCs name was in the wrong position, for me, but that the NPCs was not displayed at all... and it was always the PC, never the NPC in both positions, but I'd guess that is because the PC is what drives everything, as FemaleActor or MaleActor for FemaleActor_animal.

The second chunk was after I renamed the femaleActor_female_Lesbian.txt file... I still had femaleActor_female_Lesbian_Stage1.txt etc, and I did have intro and scene change checkboxes off (forget the exact names) so I THINK it shouldn't be looking for a stageless .txt at all.

i have a suggestion for you instead of implementing your own wear and tear system just use sexlab waer and tear available to dl here on LL,it implement damage to the three holes that can be used for sex, IMHO this would be better than trying to implement you own wear and teat system that could conflict with sexlab wear and tear.

this sounds like it would go nice with my my game but because of you adding another wear and tear i am going to skip this mod for now will come back often in hopes of you using an already implemented wear and tear system and not your own that IMO will conflict with sexlab wear and tear

It appears that there might be a problem. My MCM for Apropos is broken. Not only does it have nothing in its own menu, but it also disallows entering other MCMs until I reenter Pause menu. It's also possible it disallows installation of other MCMs, but that is only a chance in need of checking. I'll try to see if it is true or not.

Edit: It's not true. Another mod was the culprit.

Edit 2: Although it still poses problems. If I completely uninstall and reinstall it, when I enter the game, I get a CTD when it tries to install its MCM.

I had a similar problem a while back. What I had to do was uninstall this, and current jcontainers. Do the who clean save thing, then reinstall jcontainers and then this one. Load up my clean save and wait for it to update. Did NOT even bother going into MCM, just exited game and restarted, loaded up save I made right after those two updated and it worked again in my mcm.

Not saying this WILL fix your problem but its what I had to do. Also check to make sure you have the newest versions of both, and I like to use http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57795/? Helps make sure you mcm menu's show up sooner. To each their own though.

Except...I believe Apropos W&T system was developed and released BEFORE the other W&T mod. And since time travel hasn't been developed (yet), I don't think they can go back and undevelop it...

What he said. Yeah, W&T has been around now for a year. I'm not going to remove it to suit your fancy. If you haven't noticed, there's a bit of duplication across the mods in LL. Just count the number of mods that implement some form of 'Succubus' (or 'Succubus mode'). Choices are good.

I *like* my W&T system. I actually use it. If you don't like it, well, have a nice life.

I like this W&T system better. I can have visual without actual gameplay changes. Damage to stamina regen and movement speed is a pain.

I've been away from skyrim mods for some time so I'm a little confused. I have the latest Apropos, Sexlab (1.59 not the uncompatible beta) and Sex Lab Aroused redux 16b. I'm getting an error in MCM saying I need redux installed; but it looks like it's all there. Am I missing something?

Try running TES5Edit (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/?)

It should tell you if your missing any requirements.

Also, make sure all the requirements checkboxes are ticked in whatever mod manager you use

You canb also run LOOT (https://loot.github.io/)

That will sort your load order

just turning the apropos W&T system off via the MCM options would be a lot easier

Probably be a good idea to read through the mod description page as the ability to disable is in the W&T spoiler

Be a good policy to follow by default as well

The W&T system is actually the main reason I am using Apropos. I tried the other one and I will have to give all my respect to it.

However, massive status bars, minimum configure options and gender check problems with Skyrim Unbound made me keep Apropos as part of my main game.

I also started to use the text widget, now that it got remade. I did not really like the old version, but the current system works and feels just fine.

I finally downloaded the new Apropos and the good news is that I can use my four existing save games (different characters). Yay! Many thanks to Gooser for clear install instructions (and a superb mod).

but I have two glitches, which I hope are minor with simple fixes

1) I cannot for the life of me get my custom synonyms to display. I have verified with JSIN, but still they do not show on screen. How do I install my custom synomnyms (from the old version of Apropos)? I tried a simple copy and paste, but that has no worked.

2) I cannot get the Cunnilingus2 anim from Non Sexlab to show any messages at all. Either gender. Nada

Any help greatly appreciated

Two guesses....

Synonym file goes in the theme folder, not general, I think. You either need to set one theme to 1 and the rest to 0, or copy the same file into all 4 themes.

From what others have said, the anim may not have one of the 3 primary types... use the animation patchups to add oral to it if so.

Yes! that was it! Thanks! Apropos was reading from the bdsm theme file. Once I put the synonmyns in there, they showed up. I do not have the other three theme folders (slutty etc.) Do I need to add them myself?

Still no idea why Cunnilingus2 will not display

Now that I think of it, yes you do need to make folders for the themes... though you can use whatever names you want and just change the theme file to suit, I think.

I do know that certain animations will not trigger descriptions based on their tags, mostly what they are missing, and if FF and not MF / FM

AND.... I just found out that while I can get fdThreesome to display descriptions for my MALE player... my FEMALE player gets' nothing.

I tried using FemaleActor_fdThreesome, and FemaleActor_Male_fdThreesome

Same tags and copy/paste files and change names and.... nada. I find it really odd that it works for a Male player and not a female one.

unless..... I didn't try Male_FemaleActor... I haven't had to use the new naming scheme so far. And I'm not even sure anymore what it is. And... my understanding is that it could change so....
