Cunnilingus 1, Zynlicking, mitos femdom are also no shows. Anyone know of a workaround?

But it is great that we have FF messages at last, thanks to Gooser. I guess it is a tag issue. I tried using the patchups key in MCM but it made no difference to those anims (not sure what it does)

Male PC or female PC?

I've got some special animations that work for male PC but no description for female PC. I'm chaulking it up to the fact that I'm basically using a Work in Progress.... BETA... Edition of a mod. Because we're all impatient and want the widget (which is freakin' AWESOME!) so.... just have to be patient while gooser does his code magic and tries to satisfy .... himself, actually. I mean... I kow he cares about what we want, but in the end, developing a mod is a pretty thankless endeavor. He's really gotta be doing it because he likes it or it'll just die. :)

So... if you have some issues... you have some issues. It is what it is. Be patient.

And remind ME to be patient! This mod excites me more than any other. I can't imagine being without it and it just keeps getting better. Even if it has a couple of warts right now. They're not deal breakers or game breakers.

Couldn't agree with you more, chajapa. Semper patiens. I'm immensely grateful to Gooser for all we have; just want to make sure I am not missing something. I'm still confused about the Themes. Do we have to put messages in those folders for the messages to show or are the themes a taste of future developments that Gooser and Decauk have in store for us?

The themes can be used but you have to do a little work.

For example....

I wanted a theme that was a bit less violent for normal encounters. A bit more friendly. Like.... sex was actually ENJOYABLE! (*gasp!*)

So I'm using the "Loving" theme?

How?

I copied everything from the default theme into the loving theme.

I re-weighted the themes file so Loving was 1 and everything else was 0.

Now the original files stay original (in the default section) and I edit the hell out of anything in the Loving folder to make it fit my thoughts.... devious though they may often be.... because Apropos is going to use stuff from the Loving folder as I have basically excluded everything else by making Loving's weight 1 and everything else 0.

You may have to dick around a little figuring out exactly what files are going to be used from a custom theme as I think some files are always read from the default Apropos\db folder.... like patchups and uniqueanimations... can't remember exactly.

NOW.... using Mod Organizer.... I can have that themes file edited so it only uses Loving.

I can create another themes file for Slutty and create a "mod" that only has that one file in it (the themes file with the weights) and I can repeat the copy-everything-to-Slutty and edit those for a sex-crazy character. :) Activate the "Slutty Mod" to change the weighting of the themes and away we go...

So if I have a profile with a loving couple or a group of followers who are.... friends with benefits... I activate the weighting file that leads everything to come from Loving.

If I switch to a profile in which I have a nympho type character, I activate the Slutty Mod (it only changes that themes weighting file) and away we go.

Lots of options, and with MO I don't have to keep editing the weighting file. I do it once for each different profile.

There is a "AnimationPatchups.txt" in the db folder with a list of animations with commands to remove or add tags. Most of these were corrections based on the animation or removing incorrect tags from some of the creature animations, for example.

I think it was stated earlier in the thread that if you do not have at least one of certain tags on an animation, Apropos will ignore it. Thus the suggestion to add those animations and the Oral tags via that file I made earlier... or the otherday... or something.

here's one I made when I caught a correction, should probably have mentioned this when I found it...

I happen to have nothing but the basic files, a backup folder of the stock db (why I have it here, I dunno) and my theme folder.  No actual dialogs. All of my dialogs are in the single theme folder I'm using. I may at some point have more than one theme folder, but since I'm just doing a campy, "every girl's a slut in Skyrim" kinda theme, that's all I have for now. Eventually I'll have everything re-typed or changed, and I'll upload it.

That sounds great! Exactly what I was hoping for, but what do you mean by "using Mod Organizer"?

MO is a program you can use to keep collections of mods for Skyrim, and active them in saved, preset groups. It is a handy way to install or uninstall mods, and keep mods and saved games together. You could make a profile for vamping, and enable all of the vampire overhaul and edit mods you have, and only see the saved games that you had those mods active for.  You could then switch from that profile to a werewolf profile, and have all your were overhauls and Companions questline saves showing, without actually uninstalling / deleting folders for the vampire stuff, but it would not be active in that game.

Since MO and NMM (I think, haven't used the nexus one) install a mod into a self contained folder, it is far easier to delete scripts and other stuff that normally hangs around after uninstalling a mod if you just dropped it into your Steam\Skyrim\Data folder.  It also lets you see which mods have files that would have over-written the others, and keep them separate.

They're also worlds better for moving mods in your load order and keeping things straight than the stock Skyrim launcher.

Mod Organizer doesn't install anything into your actual Skyrim data directory. So you'll never have to "wipe and reinstall from scratch" again. You control what overwrites what (and it TELLS you) and it's just an all around vast improvement over NMM,

I have had success with Zynlicking, ZynLesbian, and ArrokLesbian. All display custom messages from a folder I have named "Sapphic" (yay!), but the ArrokLesbian messages are coming out in a strange order. Stage 1 appeared three times, while stages 2 and 3 did not appear at all even though they have been validated by JSON. I think I read that someone else has had issues with random messages. Still, random is better than none.

Still no joy with mitos facedom or cunnilingus 1 or 2. The strapon messages work, though I am getting male PC messages for my female PC character. I have not yet written FF messages for those anims, so that is no doubt why.

I love the new Apropos. The widget is a great improvement. Thanks, Gooser.

I'll take a look at the base animation types for those you list as working vs the ArrokLesbian one and see if I can see anything different.

I have... or had... mitosFemDom working I think. I'll have another look in a bit. Making dinner so.... not enough time in the day, it seems....

So I cant seem to get my unique animation descriptions to play with the current version. Is this to do with themes? I moved my synonym file into a theme folder and that works, just not my unique animations.

Posted

The uniqueanimations.txt should be in the \db\ folder.

The desc files would be in the theme folder. There is a file you can edit to define how often each theme should play.

Synonym does go in the theme folder, you should have one for each theme.

Are the animations you're having trouble with M/F or MM / FF?

Normal M/F desc could just be copied from your old apropos db folder into the theme folder.

My understanding is that the whole point of themes is that you can vary the messages, including unique animations. That mostly seems to be working for me. I have a few issues with FF, but those have been explained.

The Themes are a wonderful idea. Huge potential. I have modified my themes to:

1) Loving Indoors

2) Loving Outdoors

3) Sapphic

4) Swinging/Adultery

and am writing messages to fit. I'd be curious to hear how other people are using the Themes feature. The beauty is that you can quadripule the options for every animation, including and especially unique ones.

Posted

I am not sure how well the indoors/outdoors thing will work, since there isn't any detection system yet, that I know of...

If there were a way for us to specify when/how to pick themes, it would be amazing, but for now I'm just going to group various desc's that others write into a fitting theme, and then either turn on/off using the themes file, or just let it random.  Get loving messages on one animation, get a raging, rapist messages from the same one the second time I talk to the same NPC.

Would be amazing too if there was an API that other modders could use, similar to the sexlab tags.  You could call for a oral/hardcore face rape, or a loving/vaginal for spousal fun at home.  Etc.

I know this sounds terribly old-fashioned and hopelessly untechnical, but . . . my "detection system" works like this. When I open the door and sstep outside, I am ... outdoors. When I open the door and step inside, I am ... indoors. Pathetic. I know.

Mortifyingly so.

But it does work (and when I get confused, rain helps to tell me which side of the door I am on--most of the time).

Sounds like one of those weather prediction stones.. if wet, its raining, if shadow its sunny, etc. I suppose that works for you, but do you have a patch to add that into Apropos? :D

I am eagerly (but not impatiently) awaiting the day when we can configure themes from inside the MCM. At present the only option (I think) is to set the weights manually from outside the game and then see them work (and display) inside the game. If and when we can adjust them in game the transitions will be smooth. I am writing my messages with that hope!

But I'm still getting the hang of themes and trying things out. It may that I have missed some things, or that other people have seen possibilities that I have not.

I think Gooser stated that he really hadn't thought of people wanting to adjust the theme weighting in-game. I did mention the possibillity of an MCM configuration so he does know about this, but where it is in the overall scheme of things, I am not sure. I'm trying real hard not to nag too much abut the FF stuff. Player being assigned both PRIMARY and ACTIVE... stuff like that, because I know Gooser works hard on this as a whole and his priorities might be different.

I am ironing out descritions for a male character. But playing a female character is tough unless she only interacts with male NPCs.

I haven't figured out the FemaleActor_Female stuff. I don't know if Female_FemaleActor is supposed to work or not. I don't know exactly how uniqueanimations fit into the new naming scheme (FemaleActor_Male_uniqueAnimationName?)

Or even if the naming scheme is nailed down yet. It could change? So.... in the words of Master Yoda.... "Patience you must have."

So before I start debugging, bug reporting, etc., I have a question: is "consensual sex" less wearing than forced? The reason I'm asking is that my PC has spent a few days in whiterun screwing everything that moves, and yet there's almost no change in my wear and tear settings. A previous character, or so I think I remember, did experience some pretty serious wear and tear effects, no matter whether it was an aggressive animation or not.

I have an interesting problem, and cant find an answer using the search function......

Apropos runs in Spanish when run through MO for me. No idea why or how to fix it. Can anyone help?

I have not tampered with the naming system at all. Mostly the old one works, and I am reluctant to change it when it will likely be changed anyway.

I stumbled across this mod by accident and it's a treasure! Thank you for it. And thank you for making it so easy to add it out own dialogue. I'm working on the male player/victim angle of it right now. Hopefully, it will work as smoothly as this beautiful mod.
