Hopefully I'll have an easier time getting the next version to work. I see this as a core mod for my sexlab experience but I'm also greedy and there seems to be conflicts or something. I'll figure out how to get everything working eventually.

I'm still waiting on M/M support, so I could see this going either way.

If it's released now, you get feedback on the widget, and possibly more people write for the database.  At the same time, you get a bit of stress testing in the wild with people doing things that you perhaps wouldn't have tested.

On the flip side, waiting to release means you'll be able to add the few last things and not feel like you either have to pad the update or that you're releasing a patch a week after the mod's been updated.

Plus, I'm waiting on another mod to update, so I'm not really in any hurry, given the still slightly-missing support (unless M/M support's in a changelog I missed somewhere.  If nothing else, having Wear and Tear working for male characters would be nice.) and the fact that I'll have to make a new character anyway when the race mod I use updates.

How will unique animations work?

Just curious...

** EDIT **

AND.....

How will it handle having multiple animations running simultaneously?

I'm thinking of things like Random Sex and TDF Prostitution.

They'll often start animations between 2 people (or more) and then before that animation ends, another one starts between another pair (or more) of consenting adults.

Would each animation get it's own widget position?

This is how it handles multiple animations running simultaneously: Multiple widgets. See attached screenshots.

The way it is configured there are 7 widget instances in play.

- The first is devoted solely to SL animation messages about the Player. It is displayed in a different (larger) font size than the other 6 widgets.

- The next three can be used by any other NPC SL animation messages. Once a SL animation has begun, the animation "grabs" an instance and uses it through the lifetime of the animation: Start, Stage1, Stage2,... Orgasm.

- The last three can be used by W&T increased/decreased messages, virginity lost messages, and any Apropos plugins messages.

i already delted my saves to w8 a finished version, belive i prefer w8 till more complete one of doing upgrade after upgrade, idk for me at least looks more right that way, kinda afraid of one group of people taking version X (incomplete) and another take version Y (complete), the chances of double you work its high, ik people just can upgrade later, but we are talking about humans (lol im not one also ???? xD ).

Apropos Beta 20150424.1 Has been uploaded. This release is for EARLY ADOPTERS ONLY.

20150424.1:
- New Message Widget System
- Initial, but incomplete F-F system.
- Made AnimationPatchups NOT run at mod startup; Instead user is required to invoke in MCM "once things have settled down". Animation patchups now is driven by Json AnimationPatchups.txt.
- Added Theme support (driven by Themes.txt) using a weighting scheme. Weight = 4 vs Weight = 1, results in former 4x more often to be used; Weight = 0 to disable a theme.
- No theme content really at this point - everything falls back to default theme at the moment.

Keep in mind that I have not fully tested ALL the widget modes, so anything other than Left, Top orientation is uncertain at this point. I need to revisit the code for people that want to run their widgets Right-justified, etc. I also made an assumption on screensize that might not pan out (the assumption rests that most people modding their games have good rigs). My Skyrim runs at 1920x1200. The 1200 vertical resolution allows for 7 widgets. IF you have smaller vertical dimensions, you may not see widgets of lower rank. BUT the player widget should be usable and probably a few NPC widgets.

If you have issues with widgets, please post information about your screensize.

does the release have a complete folder setup for the db? even if the db is relatively empty, if the folder layout is complete, I'd be happy,

It includes the same database as the last release. It is slightly out of date of what Decauk has been updating on the Apropos Feature and Db Submission thread. Its the one i have been testing with. It also includes:

- AnimationPatchups.txt (new Json control file for running animation patchups).

- Themes.txt (new theme definition file - contents will change).

- a new BDSM theme folder with some starter synonym content copied from the default theme.

FYI, I will be unavailable for one week starting later today. THanks

LOL - what timing. Thanks for the release, I'll try testing it before you get back so if any issues are found you can dread them all week.

Tried upgrading on save that had the previous version of apropos after removing it and using the save game cleaner to remove scripts etc and seems to be working fine, MCM registered and have new menu's and did sex scene with male PC and serana and new widget appeared

so seems uninstall old, clean, install new works

I had a save stored after I beat the first dragon and without any sexlab mods enabled at the time.

So I uninstalled all the old Apro files, installed the new one using NMM, and booted up the game.

I'm new to this "widget" thing but I'm getting the dialog, just on the lower left of my screen rather than the very top, and I have it set for 10 seconds so I actually have enough time to read it.  I disabled wear and tear as I always do since that isn't my cup of tea, so I'm not sure how well the wear and tear system works on the new version, I imagine it works fine though.  There's to tick boxes for dialog to change if I change poses, its unticked by default but I enabled it, then there's one for dialog to start at stage 1 or something, I ticked that one as well.

Gave the new version a quick test drive, no problems on my ancient rickety save after a proper save clean pass.  Thanks, now situations with multiple groups of actors can display a readable format rather than cycle through descriptions that happened 2 minutes after the fact.  :D

Updated.  Did the clean save and uninstall, but for the life of me I keep getting the " blank " mcm menu for apropos now.

Did you use a save cleaner?

Posted

Yes I did.  Can't get it to work on only one of my saves.  All my other characters it works fine for, odd oh well.

have you tried the setstage ski_configmanagerinstance 1 command on the console?

So far works well, a way to change the widget text colour would be nice and also maybe a seperate colour for npc/npc action

Tried the F/F support and noticed during any of the fisting ones it refers to his fist rather than her, dunno if thats just a database thing or whether its ment to be able to distingish
