I have a similar issue but i've noticed that many items will have the manipulate dialog and not equip the item or if the item is equipped it will throw the error I am also running Mod Organizer.

Have you made sure no mods are overwriting the scripts from DD?

Feedback on the bondage mittens - I would say they definitely could use a balance pass in regards to how they interact with the new unlocking options.  They already were challenging items to unlock due to the chance of outright losing the keys as you attempt to unlock them, but now even a success is likely to cause a failure due to a key break or failed unlock.  This isn't even considering hardcore mode, which I imagine would turn trying to get them off legit without spawning a stack of keys incredibly frustrating.

It also doesn't seem intended, as the "success" message says the gloves fall off your hands, followed immediately by the "you struggle to unlock yourself and give up" message indicating a timelock failure.  Personally I think the mittens unlock should simply not have a chance to fail once the player manages to not drop the key, as not dropping the key implies that you were successful in reaching the lock.

Just installed the new 4.0 version and trying to figure out how things work now and what new stuff is in. Immediately the new arm shackles don't have the arms behind back animation and struggling has no animation either, but armbinders seem to work fine. How would I go about troubleshooting this one?

Did you run the latest FNIS after updating?

Yep, even ran it again after posting here just to be sure. One more thing I just noticed is that on trying to equip the arm shackles to myself the dialogue and options are as if I'm already wearing them but I'm not, then fixes itself when I choose "take it off". Not game breaking but weird. Going to try a reinstall now.

Edit: Didn't work :frown:

Did a clean save before upgrading, device hider has stopped working kept default settings, every option has none disabled checked and any changes i make don't stick.

Nvm chose the device hider option at the top and disabled then re enabled it. did the same with one of the options under the device hider +long hair category now the body-full hider default options are showing again.

v4.0 I am not sure if the dialog was added by another mod, the one where you say "I've been locked in restraints" and they potentially unlock you, but I was doing the Sergius quest and the NPC unlocked my devices. They were unable to remove the chastity belt Sergius put on, but were able to remove the plug. This seems like a bug in the setup of that quest and perhaps the framework if it allows removal of a plug without the belt... maybe not.

Also, with trying to escape devices, maybe say you're too sore to try again rather than too tired. Too tired doesn't make much sense, but messing around with restraints you're wearing can get you sore pretty quick.

The Sergious quest is not contained in 4.0 anymore, so unless you did some magic either you did not upgrade to 4.0, or you did not uninstall previous versions properly. Much more serious problems are to be expected.

Yes, at least with the yoke.

@LazyBoot Mo version is 1.3.11. For the most part i installed everything new, not just copying it.. registry should be fine. Since i've suspected the same i've even made a third installation where i've installed EVERYTHING from scratch, didn't get any better results, though... at least the missing meshes and animations, didn't try older versions. That stuff doesn't uninstall properly is totally possible, since it seems it doesn't install properly either.

Strange thing is that nothing else than DD seems to be affected, other games on that new hdd work fine too so i don't think it's actually broken or something. But for Skyrim there are a couplee of things i didn't try, i was pretty much only playing slaverun.

I am having the exact same issue.   Using latest version of MO, just did a fresh reinstall as well.

I get the error when I use an armbinder.

@slonez1 First, what do you mean by "latest version"? MO 2 is NOT for Skyrim LE and DD is not for SE.

Regarding the error message, that's not my initial problem, i only got the error when i -probably- mixed different versions of DDi/DDx. I had one version installed where i forgot to add the version number and was hoping it was an old one i could use for testing, or i was just too tired to do it properly. Make sure you removed everything from earlier installations, started a new game and downloaded, installed and activated new versions of both DDi and DDx.

For my own problems, something i've totally ignored but actually might be a thing... my papyrus log shows a couple of warnings appearently related to DD, also might be because of Zap 8, though. Can somebody tell me if those are ok, a problem, or something between?

I've seen that said before, but I did a fresh MO game install incl the DDi/DDx 4.0 versions today and both the original quests are still shown the MCM.  The DDE 4.0 Scripts still seem to include references to them, assuming I understand the filenames correctly

Why do ppl think they have been dropped?

Anyone any idea if SLIF will be updated for this soon, as an 'emergency' fix?  It's pretty fundamental.  Or will we have to wait until the Patreon timer has run down?  Might there be any chance that, author commitments allowing, we might get this as a 'goodwill' Christmas gift?

Not that I can't wait.... :classic_angel:

You don't even need to start the game to check that. There simply is no .esp with these quests anymore contained with DD4. If you have the deviant deviants.esp, something is wrong with your installation. And without that esp, there is no way to start this quest, regardless if there are any leftovers in the MCM.

Thanks.

Definitely don't have the esp and hadn't tried to start either quest.

Had just assumed the MCM meant what it said...

But I shall be seriously glad if Sergious has been incinerated somewhere, preferably slowly, and very painfully.  That had to be just about the most tedious quest in the whole of Skyrim....;)

Well... Now I am confused. Hmm, yes the Devious Deviants esp is in my load order. My Skyrim files are such a mess at this point.

Found a bit of a bug. I was trying on some restraints using the 'manipulate the locks' function to see how they looked, and the unlock function does work automatically each time...

However, I found out the option to unlock yourself doesn't appear unless you already DO have keys on you, which prevents you from being able to slip in and out of your restraints, even if they're manipulated! The particular items I was testing this on were some of the bondage hoods, which I picked up from Captured Dreams, but I imagine most manipulated restraints will behave the same.

I can dig up some Papyrus if you want, but this one seems pretty reproducible.

Whoa, I must have missed that, I... wow it seems to have solved the issue.  It's not the same as it was in 3.x but it does seem to play the animations properly now.  Although, it seems that I am still able to use my menu, is that a setting i'm overlooking as well?

Thank you for your help, btw. you're great, i really appreciate it.

Access to the menu is normal, it should stop you equipping weapons, armor, and spells though.

While I think it is a minor problem (more of an unintended mod interaction), I did find that equipping several pieces of equipment in one action using SkyUI's favorites menus seems to overpower DDI's ability to immediately unequip the items.  I use Nise's bikini armor set as my main gear so I have my primary set of 10 or so items set to a favorite group for fast redressing after things like DCL strip events.  On using equip all after being stripped and bound in an armbinder, I found that the favorites menu managed to get all the pieces on fast enough that DDI was only able to strip off one item afterwards, leaving my PC mostly clothed.

I think I'd chalk this up to "cheating using another mod" however, I just plan to avoid group equipping in the future when my PC's hands are bound.  I do love the inventory access, as it makes inventory management and removal of equipped non-DD items while bound so much easier.

I seem to still be able to pick locks, craft,  eat and whatever, just not equip weapons.

Also, when I get the message, upon opening a container that I am able to get out of my armbinder (maybe cursed loot issue?) it does not actually unequip it.

Did anybody try catsuits with pregnancy? Doesn't show for me but it's totally possible that it's just removed because of my workaround for my very own haunting problem, but the other parts of the body seem to use the bodyslide builds as well as other items like corsets, so i'm wondering if that might be a thing in general.

The "manipulate locks" feature is new in DD4 and custom devices from other mods (like the CD hoods) might not fully work with it. You should be able to manipulate all the devices from DD itself (even the heavy bondage ones like armbinders or straitjackets) and get out of them with a single button press (and no key).

It's quite possible that the script can't detect the multi-equip of several items in one go. Either that, or it could also be an issue with lag (but then I suppose you would see random numbers of unequipped items, not just the last one that was equipped through SkyUI).

Being able to eat etc. was probably done intentionally so not to kill users of RND and similar mods from starvation while having their wrists bound. Besides, you *can* eat with your arms tied in real life... possibly even pick a simple lock if you've got a nimble tongue and lips... it just won't look very elegant.

The sharp items message when rummaging through containers is from Cursed Loot.
