Jeff_9 Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I finished Downward Spiral: Horus Station last weekend but it didn't really scratch my space itch. So I decided to try Adr1ft in VR. The tutorial didn't feel so bad, but a few seconds into the main game I was like nope. Very uncomfortable, and I'm not easily bothered in VR. I'll play this in 2D.

Daggerfall especially can branch off in so many ways and have such different endings...no wonder the writers came up with the idea of Dragon Breaks. And damn it, why has no one introduced the Cane of Sanguine? That would be a perfect fit for LL. 3

It's to show you that no matter what you do, how powerful you become or what you learn, you will die. Bit of a dissapointment. I thought i had divinity coming ?♂️ Edit: Finally! That thing did not want to die. Alas his opinion did not count. Looking forward to killing him once again in D:OS 3 ? While I still disagree with some of the gameplay mechanics descisons, i'd say it deservers all the praise it's gotten. And seeing the other potential ending, and knowing how to not screw up my character builds, i now have to do again right away. Took almost 70 hours though, not a small game by any means.

It's both a way of enticing people to buy and a real-world beta where they're actually listening to player feedback and looking for solutions to problems, the latter which I really wish more companies would do. Having seem umpteen longplays of the game, as well as being a veteran of the Wonder Boy series, I was able to find all the things I could access with only Hu-man form and defeat the first boss with ease. Which is where the demo ends. Not even a chance to play in Pig-man form. ? Twenty-four minutes of a game that is advertised to take twenty hours to fully explore and complete. Dog, they just whetted my appetite! ? EDIT: Correction. I didn't find everything you can find in Hu-man form. I played through a second time and found I could unlock a chest containing a piece of the Golden Shield (ultimate shield) and a life heart. Underwater exploration irritates me because without Frog-man form you're fighting buoyancy and your character can't breathe (I know frogs don't breathe water; that's just how the game handles it).

There's an achievement for doing that difficulty without deaths, but i don't see how that's possible. In a single sentence: a cel-shaded comic-style humorous FPS roguelite. Quite addicting, third playtrough and i'm planning on doing the limited challenge runs too.

Including side quests, exploration, treasure hunting...and the skill system is nucking futs. You earn a couple by leveling up but most have to be discovered randomly in treasure chests, as battle loot, or by doing side quests. Plus the limit on how many skills can be "equipped" at once is a pain. Then there's the Battle Point system being used in place of both MP and Stamina for all abilities, the fact that recovery items double in price every time you buy one until they hit a cap of 99999 gold... If it wasn't for such a kooky and engaging story and fleshed out characters, I'd have quit in frustration by now. Instead I can't stop playing because I have to know where the story takes me and what else I can learn about my party and my wives who don't fight in combat.

Then after that will be waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 to come out since I pre-ordered it and I am also waiting for FF 7 remake especially since I pre-ordered it as well

It's a shame Deep Silver had to taint it with their exclusivity deal with Epic. I wonder what kind of deal Microsoft made to carry it in their store.

I've been holding out until the Switch port of Bloodstained comes out next Tuesday. I'm gonna be going on a couple week long trips soon and it seemed like it would be a fun game to have in portable format. As for people knee-jerking to the game starring a female, thinking its SJW motivated, that's just silly. There's no way Iga would have conceived a female character as feminine as Miriam if he was trying to pander to the regressives. A girl who prefers dresses and doesn't have a frumpy face shaped like a tomato? The woke crowd ain't having that. 1
