"What are you playing" thread

I got the footprint by accident when going for the S+ runs. You need to gather things optimally and skip stuff (like the "hiding place"), so it naturally reduces the distance you travel.

I got the Minimalist and Frugalist at the same time, though i cheated by playing on Assisted diffculty for them. Should be easily doable on Normal as well. Hardcore would be quite the challenge with the limited storage expansions.

And yes, i prefer 6 over 7 too. 6 has a full campaign for Ada, and a frigging anti-materiel rifle! 7 has mold ?

For a little visceral fun, and because they're so politically incorrect they would be shot down by the SJWs today, I fired up the Evil Dead games on PS1 and PS2. Plus Bruce Campell voices Ash in each of them. Hail to the King was always a bizarre little romp that I never got past disc 2 in. Fistful of Boomstick is a bit silly and low-quality but hey! I get to kill deadites in droves using all sorts of funky weapons. Regeneration...I get to fight deadites with the aid of a midget sidekick deadite who isn't evil and I get to abuse the hell out of.

Sick? Disgusting? Completely obscene? Exactly!

Well, finally got myself replaying Nier: Automata. Finished the first one. That's not so bad, really. And the second one is the same from a different perspective, but the final one is pretty bad.

I wasn't dead inside enough the last time to not let it get to me, we'll see how i do this time ?

Edit: Nope.

Hi everyone. To add:Xcom 2, Civ 6 rise and fall, Stellaris, and Dawn of Man.  In no order and certainly not at the same time.  Just cycle through a few at a time so nothing gets too stale is all.

I played Richie's Plank Experience with a free trial of Viveport. What a blast! Just like with Everest VR, when I look down from a great height, I can't stop laughing. :D Then I unknowingly triggered the nightmare sequence - what a trip!

Actually it becomes quite easy after you get the armor system and have a well thought array of CC skills. Basically reduce an enemy's physical or magical armor to zero, and stunlock him with CC skills until it dies. Their health doesn't matter, it's all about the armor.

Same applies to you too of course, some cheating "boss" starts with what seems like 10 AP (when you always start with 4 and max is 6) and sets couple of well placed powerful AoE CC skills, and you get party wiped without getting a a single action.

If you need to make enemies cheat to provide a challenge, your gameplay mechanics just might suck. In that sense Larian reminds me of Bethesda. The old incompetent Bethesda, not the current evil one ?

That fight wasn't one of those though, it was just the NPC being a moron. And saving him is optional.

I tried to play mass effect 1 again but couldn't do it lol. The face always comes out wrong and the game is just so boring once I get to the station.

For the PC i'm playing Anno 1800, I like this version of city building. I am also playing Star Wars The Old republic as well as FFXIV

I played Old Republic quite a bit. Was almost able to tank all of Explosive Conflict nightmare mode when it was still new and the top raid (our group was never quite able to clear that final battle with Katphish as I called him). I also helped a guild become server first in completing their guild ship 100%.

But I had to swear off MMOs because my main goal in them was being in progression raid groups, which is like keeping a part-time job that doesn't pay you.

Well, that makes me happy :)

And it's on topic because i've been playing it irregularly since it was released. And with those toys i suspect i may never stop.

I'll be interested to see what kind of missions they'll be making for the DLC.

Been playing a lot of classic DOOM using a personal build I created in ZDoom. Among other things it merges DOOM 1 & 2 into one game, adds some minor visual improvements and sprite fixes without going overboard, mixes in some DOOM2 monsters into episodes 2 & 3 of DOOM1 to make them less bland and uses a randomizer to mix in more breeds of Zombie/Imps. I designed it to be compatible with both GZDoom and the original ZDoom so it is able to run smoothly on my dirt cheap tablet I turned into a portable gaming console.

Here's a video of it in action. But since I was uploading it for this site I decided to do the family friendly, politically correct thing and play it with the La Tailor Girl mod installed:

Spoiler

The La Tailor Girl players are a bit OP, so I'm using a custom difficulty that makes the enemies super aggressive and forbids cheat codes (Basically Nightmare without the game breaking respawns).

Giving Arena and Daggerfall (TES 1 and 2) a try. The latter is insane in how many skills it has (35 total, with three more that were cut). And yes, it has bugs that were never fixed. So the problems go back before the current cast of characters worked there, apparently.

So I uploaded one more video of my modded DOOM. Many to just show that the Wolfenstein nazis in DOOM2's bonus stages were given all their proper attack rotation frames and don't recycle unfitting zombieman sounds when they are hurt/roaming:

Spoiler

I also replaced the Cyberdemon at the end of the second stage with the Hitler battle from Wolfenstein, but didn't realize just how insanely powerful La Tailor Girl makes the invincibility sphere powerup and ended up blasting him into Hitler kibble before he put up much of a fight (Seriously, I gave the guy the collective health of a Spiderdemon boss and that powerup made my shotgun equivalent destroy him in about 4 hits :P)

Well the Resident Evil 2 remake went on sale. And the selection of costume mods have gotten solid. So....

EDIT: Something about Leon's expression in this pic deeply amuses me. He looks like he just walked in on someone pissing in his kitchen sink.

Considering purchasing up a copy of this game for my emulation collection.

Looks like it could be a fun one to pick up and play from time to time. Plus it fascinates me that they were able to craft it to run off strictly vanilla NES hardware. For those that don't know Super Mario Bros 1 was about the most advanced game the NES's built in hardware could handle. Almost every NES game that followed relied on increasingly advanced enhancement chips built into their cartridges, pushing the limits of what the NES could do in various ways. One of the reasons the console had an abnormally long lifespan.

As for my RE:2 playthrough, been going well. Claire looks great in her mini denim hotpants. But yesterday I did a rushed save to catch GoT with my friends. I reloaded my game today to immediately see this:

Ummmm.... hello....

In hindsight after seeing that episode of GoT I feel as if viewing it could have waited until I could find a more ideal time to save to say the least, lol. But could be worse: at least I wasn't also using this mod?

Could be so much worse ?

Meanwhile in DoS2, i didn't expect this, though i suppose that i should have.

And why does Dallis "The Hammer" get a gun, while i'm stuck with an awesome looking crossbow? And that damn giant tooth-tentacle thing will be back for sure.

Trying to replay XCOM 2 but I keep getting pulled into missions before my research projects can finish. How am I supposed to improve my gear if I'm getting called out to handle yet another retaliation hit/supply raid/council request every five damn minutes? Or finish covert ops to find Warlock?
