Idyll Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 I've really been digging Weird West of late, it's a fun Action-RPG set in a western/cow-boy land with werewolves, witches and other nightmares. The player's decisions and actions matter and I really enjoy the way they break the fourth wall, like, the players are the spirit of a character that possesses the heros the player plays, it's a nice touch. You can't make your own character but the ones we are given to play (as there are a handful) are truly entertaining and enjoyable for anyone that likes and gives importance to character backgrounds and developments as well as generally weaving the story of a car... Body-Jacked(...?) character. The visual style is a bit comic-ish - a little less than Borderlands but enough to tell at a glance - I find the fights are pretty fun and you can play fully stealth with bows and arrows, silenced rifles or go in the loud way with your guns ablaze and D.-sticks (as I call Dynamite) in the air; or even take the technical approach and set up ambushes and traps to exploit with the elemental combat mechanics, slightly reminiscent of Divinity games. It is designed to facilitate the use of gamepads but that doesn't hinder the keyboard & mouse experience (which I fancy better). You can make friends along the way and even free ghosts - that you yourself made! - from their woes, talk about being a torturer of souls! Everyone is killable by the way. Even story figures. I haven't tried playing hitman on kids but I might get around to do that. I believe the executive producer of Arkane Studios, which created Dishonored, formed WolfEye Studios. And it's obvious what with the feel the game gives off - which is a pleasant surprise because I always long for more tales as enjoyable as any that started in Dunwall. I strongly recommend it, it's one of the best experiences I had in gaming for the past year and maybe even make that two years - or is it three? I can't decide. It probably has its flaws, but I'm honestly too dazzled to bother looking for them. It's definitely in my Top #1 Top-Down Action-RPGs. ?
worik Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 While I am fixing our Skyrim and FO4 setup for new characters and playthroughs, my other worik discovered Disco Elysium for us. Nice thing, because it runs on a notebook and doesn't require our game computer (and I can fiddle with the CK at the same time )
tamai Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 i still have my skryim setup but i havent played for awhile, but im setting it up for when im in the mood to play and still love setting up my mods and things. Right now though the only game i play is overwatch sometimes that's about it really.
beefers Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 replaying GTA V right now after a bunch of restarts in Fallout 4 trying to get my mod folder sorted. They only give you 2GB of space on Xbox One so you really have to perform mod triage to get everything you want. Also playing a couple new characters in TS4, made a "Rey" so she could sex up the ladies in Windenburg.
Vyxenne Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Skyrim Special Edition & Secret World on PC, and Idle Angels on my phone. I have thousands of hours in Skyrim (Xbox-SLE+PC-SLE+PC-SSE), and thanks to modders, it just keeps getting better! ? I have GTA5 but it got awfully grindy in the "mandatory" starting quests and I got tired of dying to "surprise" causes so it just sits there now, eating up a few gigs of hard drive. I also have Oblivion, because I have such great memories of playing it on XBox, but I can't seem to find the magic formula to make a sexy body and face like I did in SLE and do now in SSE. Same for feminine walk/run animations- last time I looked, there weren't any that I liked for Oblivion. Plus, I tried to figure out how to have sex in Oblivion and found nothing like the amazing SexLab for Skyrim. I tried FO76 at launch and was astonished at what an absolute pile of shit it was, both character customization and gameplay (griefers camping my loot so they can kill me again, etc.) Any modern game with PvP has safeguards to prevent griefing- even as far back as WoW, the game had PVP only in certain areas that players had to affirmatively opt into. Removed FO76 from my machine and never even once thought about trying it again. FO4 has undoubtedly the very worst, rudimentary character customization of any game since Pong- just a stupid triangle to do something as complex as morphing your body? There is simply no way I have found to make any kind of bearable/sexy feminine body, or face, or feminine walk/run, or... or... FO4 is still installed, and every few months or so I browse the available mods to see if any of them addresses my issues- although as I type this I suddenly realize that it's been over 2 years since I checked. . Plus, I hate the whole Settlement mechanic- I have gotten emergency help demands many times while I was in instanced "dungeons" and had to decide: abandon the half-completed instance and have to start it over again after I save the settlement, or lose the settlement and have to establish it again after I complete the instance. Just nope. This game should've been named "Baby Sitter 4." Tomb Raider (last 3 games)- Although there is no character customization or modding with these games, they are a joy to play right out of the box! Lara looks fantastic, and that hair! The idea of hair physics in an unmodded vanilla game just boggles my mind. Plus, Lara is an archer, my favorite role to play. I have replayed TR2013 3 times and may do it again soon. Sims 3 seemed interesting until I discovered that (as with FO4 and Oblivion) I could not make an actual, anatomically correct, sexy body or face, nor find any sexy clothes, nor even see anybody else looking like I was trying to make myself look- and the available mods didn't seem to offer anywhere near the level of customization available in Skyrim. So after doing all the starting village quests, I gave up and uninstalled Sims 3. Cybershit77: No 3rd-person possible. You never get to see your character! That eliminates one of the main reasons I have been playing RPGs since I was barely old enough to climb into the chair- basically it's "Paper Dolls with Movement and a Story" for me. Cyberpunk looked interesting enough that I bought it, and played about 6-7 hours of it, before realizing that I always had a headache and slight nausea after playing it so I consigned it to my Recycle Bin. I don't like struggling to complete mandatory game sequences- I have struggled enough just to survive aggressive Stage IV cancer and the consequences of radiation and chemotherapy, and then when that failed, major surgery that cost me a valuable body part. I play games to relax and go to imaginary worlds I could not visit even if they were real, not to scream and yell and struggle to take one more step before dying (etc. etc.). Bethesda game mods give me the option of strengthening my character to the point that I don't have to struggle to survive. I can pick any level of modded augmentation, from adding a few perks to overpowered weapons to miniskirts with overpowered Armor to full-on God Mode. Plus, especially with Skyrim, I can pick any body shape imaginable, outfits similar to those I actually wore in high school and college, and a face to launch 2,000 ships. Take that, Helen! It's nice to be able to win once in a while and look dead-sexy while doing it. 1
NickNozownik Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 Heavily modded Rimworld. There's always something to do. With so many mods installed it's pretty much Rimworld 2. I tried Grim Dawn and it was OK, I missed a good Diablo 2 like game. It doesn't have the based paladin but it's still fun. I might play modded Space Engineers again too. I wish there were some new interesting games out there.
Guest Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Currently Rage 1. I'm in the minority when it comes to liking this game. Rez was also into it and made some mods for it. I think id Software nailed it on the desert wasteland, settlements and enemy locations unlike old Obsidian and New Vegas where the whole world just looked and felt bland.
Grey Cloud Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Is it me or does membership of Lover's Lab lead to bad habits? Dragon's Dogma, just out of the tutorial area and already I'm being stared down by a pair of thre'pennies. ? Not bad so far. ENB has made a big difference in the visual department but I'm not totally sold on it. I've got another one I might go with tomorrow. The 6 or so mods I've got going on all seem to be doing what they should. Already enjoying it more than I did with 100 hours or so of Elden Ring. I've got a journal full of quests and side quests and I know exactly what is required and where I need to go. I can do them when I want and in what order I want. Much more civilised than the over-hyped mess that is Elden Ring. The two annoyances thus far are the constant misuse of the word "aught" - they use it as meaning 'something' rather than 'anything' and the frequent message during a save asking you to not turn off your computer while the game is saving. Who the hell powers down their PC when there are applications still running? ?

Vinamael Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 (edited) Mostly still playing SSE, I have a few games installed that I dabble with. I have given up on MMOs, they aren't worth the effort or the time anymore. Recently tried out a demo for The Pale Beyond. A pretty interesting game, haven't really played one like it since The Yukon Trail back in the 90s. I would love to see a Diablo meets Skyrim style game. Edited May 26, 2022 by Vinamael Added thought of desired game. Grammar.

Swiftstep Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Just finished "Red Dead Redemption 2" - took a while, but it grew on me. Now, I'm gonna miss Arthur.

Ian1066 Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Recently played Prey and Kingdom Come Deliverance for the first time, too busy playing Skyrim when they were released. Both totally awesome games, no hand holding.
AKM Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Not out yet, but it's on my list. A different perspective on a game's main character. Not humanoid! 1

Don't know about Cyberpunk, but it definitely has Tomb Raider puzzle vibes. Too bad I don't have either platform. Hope since it's on Steam it'll be on PC as well, but I'm not holding my breath.
Clea Strange Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 (edited) Not out yet but as a huge Horror fan and a fan of Dead Space 1and 2. I am waiting for the original creators of Dead Space to release calypso protocol. The group that is making Calypso Protocol use to own the rights to their original game Dead Space 1 and 2 but then EA took over and you know how that goes. Or that is how I understood it from what I could find. I hope EA doesn't come along with their lawyers to stop this, knowing them they probably will. I wouldn't be surprised at all. Some have it, some don't. I happen to, so III is completely unplayable. Grumble.
ramrod126 Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Just started VTM : Swansong and Karyn's Prison. Also playing around with Leaf Blower Revolution and Freeways.
Idyll Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 (edited) Currently making a series of submarines and boats with standardised "component setup" in Stormworks. (Like, magnets 4 blocks apart so it clips perfectly, etc.) It all looks awkward haha! Edited June 19, 2022 by Idyll
