lbdelaney Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Hello all I make sims .. yes there is CC in it.. NOT MINE.. I state this in my post IM not sure who all the content comes from its all over the place. I just design the sim not the content. I don't charge for it and I think that's a sad thing to use content from other and put it behind a pay site. I share .. not charge. I'm new at this .. if I'm doing something wrong let me know please. What I state on the files I upload. The custom content included is not mine, nor do I claim any rights to it whatsoever! I use the content to design these models. I do this for free and to share with fellow Simmers who have enjoyed WW, BD, BG, and WP. these work best with those mod’s, as some of the sims trat’s are linked for better game play. Please see the screen shots for the packs needed for the Sims. I have also noticed that there is a file size limit set now as well .. I don not want to step on toes here if I have I'm sorry ..
ChinaTam Posted May 28, 2021 Author Posted May 28, 2021 Thank you @Ashal for coming up with this .....
Qalefir Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Yep, thank the team. That's nice add. @lbdelaney Don't worry, it was all about bumping then monetisation. I dont have the feeling you step on toes of anyone. Keep sharing your creation.
Kashked Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Honestly, that is probably the best solution for all parties concerned.
Oops19 Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Finally! ? PS: If you don't click instantly on the link below and download my mod I'll bump it form page 11 to 1.

I tried to clean up my files removing extras unnecessary folders in the zip files but it says i have exceeded the download size ?
Guest Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 it is so very nice to again be able to update mods without having to go 3 pages deep throws Ashal a salute

But I suppose, I see that in some Sims page.
lbdelaney Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Oh well.. Well since there is now a file size limit I wont be sharing sims any more, as even naked my sims exceed the file size limits.. Sorry guys looks like I'm done sharing. I'll go back to lurking. Will cancel my Loverslab on Parton as well as there isn't a need for it now. Back to the shadows I go.

I don't know if a file size limit has been set but Sims are still being posted so you can still post Sims. At the moment it looks like the spamming problem is so much better, a great community effort, well done and thank you to everyone who supported this ? I reported a couple of the culprits today and assume they were warned (sadly my post above naming who I reported must have been edited by an admin) Anyway lets enjoy getting back to great content and encourage all creators and modders again.
Qalefir Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 I feel like there is more diversity in the mod section than a week ago. I remain vigilant, but in any case, things are improving.
bobahloo Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Didn't realize this was such a problem, but I had noticed this happing with certain creators who I un-followed. Getting a notification of a new version, just to find no changelog entered and same file that I already had. So on that note, I'm glad steps have been taken to remedy this. However, to what extent is to be determined as spamming is my concern. I'll explain my concern below. When I upload new animations, it basically results in it showing me uploading a new version 3 times within 10 min or so. The reason being: Have to go in once to add new package files, remove old files, and fill in the what's new section. Then I believe it's here that you can delete old gif previews and add new ones etc. However, I have to do this as a separate step because many times its gets an error, and it's very frustrating to lose and have to retype and add the new files again. Then I need to edit my animations lists add links etc. in the detail section, which again shows as an uploaded new version. So in this process is someone going to see this and think it's "bumping", when in fact It's the only way I can get the update done. Some of my problems are most likely due to my internet, sadly I have the best I can get in my location and it's not so great if I'm describing it in the nicest way I can.
SecretCrush Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 Hi everyone, sorry if I did something that offended someone. I communicate that I’m already doing it right, as I’m new to the forum, thanks for the warning.

myuhinny Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 There has always been a file size limit just like there is a picture upload limit of 20 per post. @ChinaTam I edited your post as you don't need to tell anyone who you reported as that will most likely end up breaking our sites no drama rule as it will most likely end up causing fighting and what not.

Ah, I've never uploaded so didn't know that, good to know ? That's ok @myuhinny, thank's for explaining. I just couldn't get them to come to the table and discuss the problem or indeed stop. Both had been abusing the system for some time and don't reply to their support thread either. The download section is Soooooo much better now, amazing work you guys behind the scenes ? It looks like Idichi_***** still wants to play the old, "change the description so at least one of my topics is on the front page" though ☹️ They probably need to be encouraged to use the support thread to update all their "fans" on new paywalled content and such like. That way we don't see a fake update ? 10 hours ago, bobahloo said: Didn't realize this was such a problem, but I had noticed this happing with certain creators who I un-followed. I think behavior over time is the criteria that will be adopted by the Moderators. You can clearly see who abuses the system for their own cause. It's obvious who the culprits were and had been for some time. If you read this thread you will see why they felt the need to compete for shop window space, money and income. I think the Moderators have a very good idea of who they are looking at, it's just down to the community to report the issues now. Just continue doing what you were doing, great work, you are in no way, shape or form the problem, most creators are great ?

So in this process is someone going to see this and think it's "bumping", when in fact It's the only way I can get the update done. Updating needs time, it's completely understandable. So I think if you update a couple of times within an hour, but then "lock it in" then nobody will bat an eye, I certainly wouldn't. ? We were explicitly targeting people who used fake updates for bumps or only edit their post to showcase their New Patreon Exclusive stuff, I don't think we've called out anyone who did actually update his/her stuff. Keep up the good work, we appreciate your content! ?
Simsy McSimsface Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 I really appreciate the new anti-bump rules, but I think they're still a bit too lax and provide too much wiggle room. Quote ANNOUNCEMENT: Excessively bumping your upload will result in your upload being removed. Making constant empty edits your files description to bump it up to the top of of the recently updated list will result in a warning... One might argue (and I bet certain individuals will) that "informing the public" about new Patreon content is not an "empty edit"; also what's our definition on "Excessive bumping"? To me, anything that is not an actual FREE content update is Excessive bumping, but for someone who spent the last couple of months bumping his/her content 4-5 times a day, a daily bump might not register as so. I would propose to change the wording of "empty edits" into "insignificant/unrelated/promotional only edits" or something similar (probably someone below can come up with something better sounding ? , but you guys get the gist of what I'm thinking...) Also, I REALLY HOPE I'm gonna be wrong on this, but I can already see the next metagame coming up... Spoiler The "I'm just fixing typos" edit meta. "ooh, I just realized I made a typo in the file's description, let's fix that" > EDITS FILE POST "ooh, gosh darn, looks like while editing, I made another typo" > EDITS FILE POST "well, look a that, I just found another damn typo" > EDITS FILE POST "whaaaa? I'm not bumping, I'm just fixing typos, you can't blame me for THAT!!!"
ChinaTam Posted May 29, 2021 Author Posted May 29, 2021 Maybe community power will run this, if you see the same suspects, or for that matter, new culprits, "updating" without contributing anything new (or updated), then report them. ha ha ..... from a little while ago... just as all posts dropped from the front page .....

With all due respect to their work, I do not want to be misunderstood, but I create a zip file of about 200 mb for a sim. Do you think I have a chance to give credit to all of them? Others criticized us for making sims and using other people's cc's to make money. It's not that easy. It takes 1 day to find the right cc's, one day to make a quality sim, and I spend 2 days in total for a sim. paywall.... bla bla bla...... Whether you like it or not, I deserve a cup of coffee for my hard work. I've only been here for a month and I've prepared about 30 free sims for you, and it all cost a month. What I'm going to say is that before you say anything, think a little more about it. I love you all. I'm pretty happy about the spam fixes and the new download section. ? Well a few thing to say : 1. The item you are using to create your sims, you get it for free. And the amount of time and work to make a proper mesh is substantial (with due respect to your work, I am sur that creating a mesh takes more time and skill than creating a sim.) 2. No, you don't deserve a cup of tea for your hard work, you will get it eventually if someone like your work. It is not a market, it is a community. You don't work here, you create for yourself and share. Asking for donation is totally fine, be toxic in the download section and use other peoples creation to make money, it is not. And your sims you share are not privilege we get, this is just your creation. I wrote storie a year ago, I have the sim creation, some character to create, write there story, make there apparance, develop their appearance, make place, setup, I have a lot of work in photoshop, I have to translate... It take a lot of time when you try your best, and I am not waiting any coin for that, because it is for me, and I share it. What I am trying to say is, Don't think you're the only one dedicated to creating here, many people are dedicated, and do it for their own pleasure. I mean, check the Skyrim section, some mods are hundreds of hour of work, even for simple thing. Most of them don't get any money from these because they just do it for fun. And I repeat, I am happy that everyone can share there creation. But understand that it may seem borderline behaviour to associate charging and stealing others' creations without credit.

Welcome @muse.polymnia thank you for joining the conversation and giving us your point of view. Can I ask why you choose to spam the download section and continued to "bump" your post until recently ???? It's really simple as far as CC is concerned, if you do not have permission use someone's CC to "Make Money" for yourself then it's simple, you really should not be using it, can you not see that? As many have said here, hiding exclusive sims behind a paywall doesn't sit well unless all the CC is your own creation, sorry. Constantly advertising your Paywall also gets tiresome. If you don't update/add any new content we really don't want to see your "update" it's just spam. Sorry I sound harsh but it's taken weeks for you even to engage with us here and I've tried and tried and tried and tried.....
