Sim Spam in Downloads

I think some are missing the point.

Did you even read the TOU's when downloading free cc for personal use only, or not to be used for profit.

Do you understand what this even means or don't you care?

It means you have no respect for other creators when you want money for using their content.

How much would you make without including their free content?

Why should we show you the same respect if you don't show the same respect to others?

Life is a two way street and just like trust it goes both ways.

Sorry if I offend I'm just stating the facts.

The "I'm just fixing typos" edit meta.

"ooh, I just realized I made a typo in the file's description, let's fix that"

> EDITS FILE POST

"ooh, gosh darn, looks like while editing, I made another typo"

> EDITS FILE POST

"well, look a that, I just found another damn typo"

> EDITS FILE POST

"whaaaa? I'm not bumping, I'm just fixing typos, you can't blame me for THAT!!!"

as long as the dont fix typos more than once a week or change what there description says i can live with that

I don't want to talk about bumps anymore everyone does it for the same reason and there's still one person who does...

Actually, I took your warning into account, maybe you didn't notice. It was only when I installed a new sim and after about 20 people bumped into the issue that I had to update it too. But after the warning, I curtailed this habit.

Already now a clear and clear article has been shared by the mods. It looks better now...

You have no idea about CCs. If a designer says you can't use it, he has to give a reason not to use it, and unfortunately there is no valid reason. However, if a designer tells me I should, I won't.

Also, if you had written to me properly, I would certainly try to give you the greatest support. You could explain the situation in private rather than accusingly writing under the position. I was new here and did what I saw. It's actually that simple.

And your reason for bumping, why?? we don't understand why any of you neede to keep bumping, advertising a paywall or what?

I reviewed this place the day before posting content here. All the sim designers were bumping their subjects like crazy. NATURALLY I THOUGHT I HAVE TO DO THIS. AND I NO LONGER DO.

I know but why ? what is the point of bumping???

this is not a witch hunt measures have been taken the spam has stopped so lets all chill a lil bet and let the modders mod . lets not start this into an inquisition. that was not the purpose the purpose was to stop the spamming. i can now get my updates without going thru 2-3 pages of mods updated in a 24 hour period. I am happy. let the modders mod and let them create. it does no one any good if we turn this into a pissing contest. or even abuse the reporting than we are no better than the spammers. sometimes people go to far when they do things, when they do u reel em back in but if you overdue it when you reel people back than u r going to far. that's one of the problems in the world right now is too many people are going too far and it turns into a pissing contest and fights. so lets keep from going to far with this. what i am trying to say is let us not be overzealous.

"seemed like the rule"...  LMAO, I'm literally crying here. This was the best excuse ever! Thanks for making me laugh. ?

in fairness it was the rule back then monkey see monkey do. that was the mindset so lets not cruxfiy people over it. it became an issue , issue was resolved. now it is time for peace offerings and let people adjust to the changes

Here's the problem, like I said on my statement, I was bumping my files because other creators were bumping like crazy and a lot of of others started bumping like crazy, and Poly confirmed that. But you guys seem to be more interested on poiting fingers and accusing us of theft to continue your mod LARPing charade instead of trying solving the issue. Obviously I'm not referring to everyone here, but a lot of ya'll are weirdly agressive torwards people who came here to talk about the spam and why they were doing mass bumping.

I agree with this. There isn't a reason to question people on their past actions at this points. A part of conflict resolution is to not blame people, but the system or the problem itself. Without boundaries, they are going to observe the actions of others and go with the flow. Now that boundaries are set, we have to lead by example and with education; not by interrogation nor ridicule.

idichi thats why i keep coming back in here to keep pointing fingers from happening and not to turn it into something else some people can get overzealous sometimes it is a human flaw that we all have. ignore the few that persist and keep on modding.

That is a rather poor excuse tho. They shouldn't HAVE to say "Please don't use my CC for profit" and even those who have said that, people are still paywalling their content behind Patreon.

toxic person

Nice big bold statement for not knowing that person. Classic.

I apologize if this will sound silly- but uploading new file will count as spam too? Not re-uploading or updating the main page. Uploading something new to the (in our own existing thread) download section.

Not silly at all. As I see it you cannot keep updating a post after the first few days, the Moderators will check your edits and if it's every week it will be considered as spam. Pop along and ask in the main discussion forum and a Moderator will probably clarify this.

*Not pointing fingers to anyone- please do not get this personal. It's a general opinion*

People are still updating their threads with no changes or with little to no changes. Some people deleted their threads and/or their files just to re-upload them. I hope the ones who actually upload something really new and the ones who are fake-updating their threads won't sail on the same boat (seen as spammers).

This is actually the main problem for now. I really hope that someone in good faith doesn't get a slap on the wrist, but I don't think that will happen.

Then they need to be reported for excessive bumping using the report file, I've noticed it too.... all I can say is report them or Private message me and I will do it ;)
