JinZen Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Someone mentioned, that disabling LoversHook solved the CTD problem. in my case xPO and LC work just fine and my game doesn't crash when i leave the prison, but it's worth a try i guess. As far as I know I don't have that mod... Okay been very long time ago I popped in here but have been playing or hanging around on other things as well... I'm still around on Skyrim and such though and have updated the mod regulary... Mostly things went fine but in the latest V20 I think some bugs snuck in... I became Immortal after I tried something odd figuring my PC turned on essential mode... Now I wasn't doing any quests besides but got myself funny enough arrested in Morthal on purpose cause those prisons are nice and there were no pillories yet... Mission succeeded... Stripped bound gagged all working escorted to jail easy... However weird event occured... A bandit snuck in the jail... The Jailor ran away and the bandit sticked around taunting me in the cell... I lockpicked the door and used my sorcery powers to kill that bitch... So far all fine but it did not count as me being escaped... I came upstairs and the guards attacked me till I sheated my sword... (I stole my stuff back and got due my skills a duplicate key meaning I stole all) however I did not lose the essential state... I'm guessing quite surely that I got it since that arrest... Tried to turn it off no use... So I went whiterun gave me crimegold wanted to escape prison and it resulted in CTD ... So my question is have there been some bugs with the escaping system ??? AKA not counting ? Try upgrading to the latest version, and if you already have the latest version, make a clean reinstall of it.

I'm probably just reading sloppy, but which version did you notice you had problems with CTDs? Most people are having issues when saving or autosaving, but you're having problems as soon as you come close to the chest. Is this correct? When you CTD at the escape bell; could you describe that a little more? What were you doing? I don't think the amount of items in the chest makes a difference, but you never know... I've checked the traditional immortality flags, and in my setup they're still set to "off". Did you, though, have the collar still equipped? That collar has a significant heal effect, so it'll probably keep you more or less immortal. If escape doesn't work properly, then probably you're considered still in the cell, and the game is still running the prison sequence. This would seem like immortality. So the escape problem, which I think is the main issue. I just tested Morthal and it registered escaping just fine, both when opening the door, and when getting far away from the cell. My first guess is there's something fishy with your setup. Try to do a "force restart" (in MCM) and see if that helps. By the way, if the game crashes (for you) consistently when you either register as escaped or when you're released, please say so. It'd be interesting piece of the puzzle, because tbh I still have no clue what's causing this. In my setup, I've not seen a ctd if I disable whipping, but since whipping used to work,... well... I just have no idea.

Alright, something to look at, I guess .... Edit: ... and thanks for reporting this! Although I would've preferred a solution to the issues, I guess more CTD circumstances is always helpful.

Go into MCM and try the various debug settings under the "Stability" menu (I think?). My current idea is that it has something to do with the jailer, but I could be completely off here of course.

When the guard escorted my toon to the stocks by the apothecary and locked her in there, nothing ever happened. He just walked wandered around behind her for a long while before escorting her back to the cell. As a side note, is there a way to keep the welts from the beatdown on after equipping armor? They vanished when I equipped the vanilla black robes. EDIT: I should mention that i did the fDecalLifetime=300.0.

But when i got locked up in Riften, after the whipping in the cell, i could no longer save the game without a CTD. It happened specifically after the in cell whipping, and i was on the escort back to get my stuff. Try to save at any point after that, and CTD. For example, i could go all the way to the chest where i got my stuff, and then as soon as i exit the jail to Riften, the Autosave would crash the game. Or if try to save on the way to get my stuff, same result... i may be just one of those unlucky people who have a conflict somewhere trying to run too many sexy fun mods... But really, thank you for all your work on this, i can always make it work by disabling all the sexlab mods, and just running PrisonOverhaul.

It works very well when you're escorted to/from pillories, but sometimes I noticed people blocked, especially children. About mods conflicting, I don't use sexlab so shouldn't be about it or related mods. The only mods I'm too scared to even try with PO are those ones that somehow change the main cities. BTW I'm still using v018, first one causing me CTD and freezing.

I'm fairly sure that it isn't a problem with those mods, so no worries. Still trying to find them prolem. It seems to be an issue with whipping at the end, because if I disable that, the game no longer crashes. Though, I'd really like to understand why this no longer works properly ...

Few things i noticed (tryed only Whiterun): - the jailor pushes my toon around (Khajiit, tail counts), including the pillory - very strange looking but just a cosmetic issue - the jailor stops walking for at least 1 time, when guarding my toon to and from the pillory - with Frostfall and no cloths this will end deadly one day - no heat source in the cell - even tho my toon doesn't loose temperature, it isn't raising either - the jailor gets stuck in the prison door from time to time or at my toon (when following into the cell, to remove the bindings with my toon being stopped autowalking to close to the prison door), so i got to wait for the game to teleport the jailor, so he reaches the destination and the scene progresses - i enabled whipping decals again yesterday, was whipped and when brought back to prison for the first time, the game froze upon finishing loading the cell - maybe it was because of being near the chest (as i read here), that must have caused this, as disabling decals again didn't solve it ... very strange

sarahlost36 Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 oh wow, so reinstalling the zaz aninimation pack also seems to have worked for me on a new character, so i am trying it again on an older save... i like to combine your mod, with Working Girl, pretending that prostitution is illegal in Skyrim, so every client i have, i roll a d20, and have a table for the kind of person they are to see if they will report me to the guards.... women for example only report 2 times out of 20, but crazy beggars might go blabbing 10 times out of 20 and so on... I give each report a cost of 50 bounty, and if 5 reports happen in the same town, i need to get out because my bounty is automatically doubled for notoriety... it adds a certain tension to the oldest job in the world, as my pimp sends me on missions to work each city. isn't it amazing all the fun ways we get to play Skyrim? hugs, sarah

Try it with and without the decals, process of elimination... If it's the decals, then maybe it can be handled by keeping the number down or the time down or just letting people know to let them fade first etc. If it's not the decals then try shorter vs longer whipping sessions. Personally I suspect it's the decals vs how you've declared them in the INI files which might explain why some people have the problem and others do not.

I'll add it to my todo (after fixing ctd). - That stop walking thingy is kind of hard to fix. It's just the way ai works, but I can make it less annoying in a lot of cases. For instance, doorways, I can usually instruct the actors to go all the way into the room which helps because they bump less. - Ok, I'll look into adding heat sources to the cells. I thought that it was always nice and warm indoors. - This happens a lot with the ai when it thinks it bumps into things, so not much I can do about it. If you look at npcs they too bump around when doing their regular ai. It's just not something one normally notices, because you're probably busy going about your own business. - Strange. Current theory is that whipping sounds (moans) is the problem, so the decals shouldn't give you CTDs. I'll make an update soon (today). I've sort of adressed most of your problems, hope it's a little better (at least ai should behave better in doorways).

(Hopefully this was the CTD problem.) * Added additional controls on the stability section of the Debug menu, and I hope they're not needed. * Jailers have no own ai packages. They'll "go home" when their job is done. * Other, random, minor fixes and tweaks when hunting around for stability issues.

I don't know if it'll help, but with the SexLab mod, the cum decals stay in place when armor is equipped. Maybe emulate what was done with that?

Anyway, just a suggestion... having fun with your mod and thinking about how things work together... or could do so anyway... s

There, I managed to open the loose grate and escape through the tunnel. I didn't make it halfway through the tunnel when I suddenly froze. The jailer appeared behind me out of nowhere and proceeded to march me outside. We went out of the tunnel behind the Bannered Mare, walked by the pillories, up to Dragonsreach jail, stopped at my cell.... then back out again and down to the pillories By the time we got there it was already dark, so I didn't stay more than a minute on the pillories (in fact, they didn't even materialize around me... I just stayed in the pillory pose for less than a minute before the jailer said 'move it'). She marched me back up to my cell... in front of the still open grate The first attempt as escaping was not registered as an escape (surely because the jailer intercepted me) but my second attempt worked and added to my bounty. I was, however, able to walk right in front of guards without being caught (?!) I saved before the escape and after without CTDs. The grate was still wide open the next time I was caught.... no CTD so far. Edit: After serving my sentence at the pillories the second time (nothing happened), I was marched back up to the cell and slept through the night. In the morning, the jailer came and game me a goodbye beating (the pose showed my character hanging from the wrists as I was whipped..... but there was no prop around me... just hanging from the wrists in mid air). Once the beating stopped, I got bound, gaged ... and froze in place. The jailor froze in place too. I could use the UI, change camera angle, wait (I waited a few hours) and I was still stuck in the same spot. No CTD though

Try out:Did not touch MCM Solitude minor crime The follow package works(into/out of cell) When in pillory the jailer is doing nothing, no whip equipped?1 abuse from guard (fiddling) served 24 hours(i think) Falkreath major crime Jailer little difficulty on stairs but works. When walked to pillory, the pillory comes to player.Jailer doing nothing,no whip equipped.1abuse from citizen(whip)1abuse from guard(whip) walked to jail.Wait.Farewell whipping. Works . Served 24 hours(i think) Whiterun minor crime Walked to pillory in late afternoon was there a minute no abuse jailer doing nothing, no whip equipped Works. It seems in the new version that its not counting time/crime Sugestion: How about turning the pillory 90 degrees so that player "faces" the public with the importing part .This is about accessability.. MonaBabii Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 I'm gonna start my game over, as I so often do lol, so It's time to give the mod a new try, a proper one at that this time I'll report back with what I find, hopefully the CTDs upon being released and saving will be gone
