v21 stuck in Solitude in Front of the wrong Cell,

 

catched by Bountys, escorted to Solitude, overtake by Guard, overtake by Jailer - all work fine

 

but the Jailer led me to the first cell left, already used, and not to the second one -

first Attempt, catched near Dragonbridge, ends up myself in front of the closed Celldoor, Jailer inside of the used Cell, Door of the regular Cell open.

second one, from nearby Windhelm, mzself and the Jailer stucks by the used Cell, regular Cell closed.

 

teleport Jailer and me via Console to the regular one does not effekt anything, just walk back.

 

also the same bug when submit in Solitude

Sounds weird. I'll try it out in my setup and see if the same things happen to me.

Is this a bug or am I just impatient?

Jailer bring me to pillory, I stay there indefinitely and the Jailer looks just my character.

If you're using default settings, you should be able to use the wait function (3h). If nothing happens by then it's probably a bug.

Tried v021 today, comming from v019. I like the new additions.

 

There are two minor things I've noticed so far.

 

1) The npc sometimes vanishes (isn't rendered) due to the pillory being to close to the wall. At least that's what I think is the problem. Got that in Falkreath. Changing the camera angle solves it, but maybe placing the pillories a bit more in the open would be helpfull.

 

2) I think the punishement in the jail cell is on the same punishement counter as the pillory one. The guard only hits like 3 times and then realeases you, hardly a punishement :) Maybe this final punishement could get an seperate duration setting in MCM.

Both things were changed between v019 and v021, so this could very well be a problem. I think whipping times were longer, but I can double check.

Yeah, still getting the guards walking away from me after I tried to turn myself in.  Tried on a new install and new character, so it's disappointing.  I hope you can track it down soon because I really do like this mod.

If you tried a new install, did you try to install only this mod and its dependencies? Or by new install do you mean that you reinstalled this mod?

 

I'm going to guess you have some conflict on your system in that case. Since I don't know your setup, there's nothing I can do to solve it.

 

Make sure you've followed the troubleshooting section on the first post before giving up, though.

 

You can track mod conflicts with tes5edit, but it's kind of advanced, I think, so up to you if you want to spend time on that.

 

 

It was reinstall of SexLab and XPO.  So, I stripped everything and reinstalled EVERYTHING.  It's now working.  The only thing I can conclude is SexLab Paycrime did something to screw it up.  I have no idea how or what happened, but XPO worked fine until I had installed that, and even after I thought I had it removed, it still wouldn't work.  But it's working now, and I won't be trying that one again.  ^^;

 

Ok. Good that you solved it. I'll add it to my todo list to try and find a way to make them compatible.

 

Edit: According to the SexLab PayCrime thread, these mods should be compatible.

I am having troubles getting stuck on solitude too, in front the cell.

Just tried out solitude, and it works on my setup. Not sure what gives you these problems. There are generally pathing issues in doorways, does it appear like the player is trying to move, but can't get past the guard/doorway/etc?

 

If so, just waiting usually solves the problem.

Yeah, also because with the new framework a lot of people (well, me for sure....) have installed  SOS.

SoS support will be coming. I think I wrote this earlier in the thread, but with summer around, I for some reason have less time to mod. Not sure why, but ... ;)

 

Anyway, yes, it'll come. Or at least I'll attempt to include it.

To be honest... I would kinda change it a bit in overhaul in general...

 

So far we have levels of punishment... Minor crimes could end the player in jail waiting (not naked or naked by choice in the options) and untied in the cell... Player has no choice and the jailer comes to whip you ... We have some places with torture rooms to spice things up a little. 

 

For bigger crimes I would suggest the player being brought to jail stripped naked and put in there... However I would leave them shackles on... They will not be restrained however but they'll reduce your movement speed (the option in ZAP can turn them off so you can turn em base off too... Also that includes you can escape but the shackles on make people react different. Also make it that you cannot fight at full speed or move at full speed with them on and that people seeing you with them are running towards guards and guards attempt to arrest you.) You are also naked so it makes it harder to be strong or armored in some cases. If you are caught again they'll put you in jail with shackles locked and you need to attempt and get out again to get free... Only way to get the shackles off is a friend (true friends, companions), a shady person OR using the anvil though that might draw attention in day time... offcourse during the day the jailer takes you outside towards either pillory or some other device to restrain you in... 

 

Then heavy crimes you'll end up fully shackled all the time in prison and being brought towards torture rooms and outside too... Basically make it atleast 2 days of prison with 1 day torture room and the other day you'll end up in the streets for people's pleasure. Ofcourse you'll remain cuffed all the time in your cell or shackled if you are known to escape or make an attempt to. 

 

Eventually if you commit an even heavier crime the prisoner ends up in shackles at night time, pillories and torture room at day time and after a couple of days an execution. (Beheaded in solitude, drowned in Morthal, dead by freezing in another place) and so on... There are plenty of options for that...

 

That would make the overhaul more work but overall a nicer sight for every location seperate.... Ofcourse jailers could get their ways with you and so do others... Also add possible random events to get you free like a "good bandit raid" :D (ingame pun intended)

Lots of good ideas. I'll try to spice things up in the coming releases.

 

Nice mod, especially when using the higher bounties mod. Quick question, though, upon releasing my char, the jailor always give her a whipping. Can s/he rape my char as well and just not been "lucky" ? Would be nice. ^^

 

Would be even greater if s/he would paid my char nightly visits, maybe interrupting her sleep to have some fun. ^^

 

Thanks for the work so far, looking forward to the next update. Hope to see more stockades soon, at least in riften which is a nice town for thieves char. :P

Great mod...but not for me :(:@

 

I installed everything correctly, (your mod is listed as mod and activated) but when i get caught nothing special happens...

I also can't find your mod in the SkyUI menue.

My mods and Data folder:

mate, straight up, you have installed skse to the DATA folder. not supposed to be there.

you need to install skse one folder up, (the elder scrolls v skyrim) folder.

after that you must launch your game with the skse_loader.exe for skse to work.

I can see that you are new to using mods, mate you really have to read all the instructions of the mods that you use or you will be facing an uphill battle all the way.

also, get yourself a mod manager, makes life easier.

You should really use an mod manager like NMM, Mod Organizer, Wrye or TMM.
Not to forget BOSS. it will sort unknown mods at the end of the load order, but in this case they should work. Counts for xPO and zAP.

And yes, as jazz_man007 wrote: install SKSE into Skyrims base folder, not into a subolder like Data.

Strange that SkyUi works.

 

For our german speaking audience:

Du solltest wirklich einen Mod Manager benutzen, wie NMM, Mod Organizer, Wrye oder TMM.

Nicht zu vergessen: BOSS. Der packt ihm unbekannte Mods zwar an's Ende der Ladereihenfolge, aber dadurch sollten diese auch funktionieren. Gilt für xPO and zAP.

Und ja, wie jazz_man007 bereits gesagt hat: installiere SKSE in Skyrims Hauptverzeichniss und nicht in einen Unterordner, wie Data.

Eigenartig, das SkyUi so funktioniert.

 

  • NMM <- very easy to use
  • Mod Organizer <- not this easy to use (actually recommended for people that understand the underlying mechanics of mods and load orders) but the safest mod manager of all time
  • Wrye Bash <- easy to use; can create the needed BashedPatch
  • TMM <- for purists, that like the style of OBMM
  • BOSS <- don't leave home w/o it

I think the problem is not related with my avatar, but with the jailer. He doesn't open the cell, just patrol outside it, no matter how much i wait. My avatar just follow his steps.

 

Also, there is a woman called Bjartur occupying the cell that seems to be destined to me:

I tried killing her with console while the jailer is still stripping me upstairs, no result.

Hi, great mod, for those having problems in Solitude with gaurd bringing you to wrong cell, I had the same problem. Did a clean save completely deleted old  version before upgrading to new version and still had the same problem. When I started a new game the problem in Solitude went away and I was brought to the proper cell. So regardless of  using a clean save something is carrying over from the old version.

 

Just to add some personal views, please don't add executions don't see the purpose of using this if it just gets your character killed or at least make it an option.

Also the fires beside the pillarys are a good idea for frostfall users. But I don't really see what the complaints are about using frostfall you can adjust the rate at which you freeze same goes for realistic needs. You can adjust the setting of these mods. I use both and never really had an issue with starving or freezing. The one time I did I just adjusted the settings a bit in frostfall. keep up the good work...looking forward to update. :)

All I know is that it worked fine before I installed PayCrime, and afterwards, would not work again.  I'm a little reluctant to reinstall as it'll mean a full reinstall, but I can if you need me to to see if it breaks again.

I was thinking about this, I don't know if executions are gonna work, I think it would be cool the first time, but after that, I would just reload if I knew my character was gonna end up executed.

 

How about, for really serious crimes, extra days of torture followed by a trial by combat, it doesn't have to be too complicated, just have the jailer move the player to the town square, give the player a basic weapon and pit him against a random npc or guard.

No Matter what I try to solve it, My Game always gets freezed while standing in the Pillory for a While. T_T

Disabled it for now, though this Mod is so much Fun. ^^

Totally agree, it would be awesome to see executions like, decapitation, stabbing, hanging.

The issue with execution based on repeated sentences and stuff is that when we reach that point, the mod might lose its interest as being caught will resume in a game over, so most people would simply reload and simply try not to get caught.

 

The strenght of this mod is that in its current state, it gives some interest in getting caught and having jail time when in vanilla, you have absolutely no interest in getting caught, so you would avoid it and reloading if getting caught as either way, you would only lose time and/or gold.

 

Having your char executed might be fun once in a while, but I think just adding some really punishing but non-lethal feature, then freeing the char again would be better. Something non-final that would not stuck the mod in a "let's avoid jail" state, which would be reverting to vanilla in a way.

 

Just my opinion on the matter. Since I installed that mod, being caught when breaking the law is now fun because some stuff can happen to spice it up. My criminals char are that much funnier to play.

 

Edit : a workaround might be to set a final stage based not on repeating sentences, but bounty value, setting it high enough, so you might avoid it as long as you pay your fine or do some jail time.

i still love whoring myself out, playing a little meta game with dice rolls, to see if my clients go on and report me for prostitution... then noticing as i walk by the guards, that hey wait i know you starts coming up...

 

you can use "player.setcrimegold" to put a bounty on yourself... google it for the codes to the places that you are naughty in...

 

try going away for a while, and then forgetting that you have a bounty, and having to submit to that long walk to jail. i love this mod. great work!
