MonaBabii Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 @CheshiCat: You're saying I have to remove all mods/scripts I'm using in my Skyrim? x_x Now -that- would really screw me over lol, or did you mean simply uninstall XPO? If I have to remove all mods and script from my game in order to get around this issue, I think I'd much rather wait for a later version of XPO that addresses the conflict. Even if I could remove all of my mods without corrupting all of my saves, I'm using a -ton- of mods D: It'd be a nightmare having to reinstall them all one by one. Thanks for the reply though, cheers!
xaz Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 Hey! Pretty sure I already said this a few pages back, but I'll say it again, great mod I'm having a little issue, and it's an interesting one: I downloaded the latest version, upgrading from my previous 0.17 to the newest 0.19 (and followed the instructions for the safest way to upgrade), and I committed a crime for the sole purpose of going to jail. Everything worked out great and without a hitch, from getting caught and walked to the Riften jails, to the moment the jailer beats me up and walks me towards my belongings when my jail time is done... and theeen... the interesting bit; When everything was over, and I put my stuff back on and was ready to go through the main door to get out of the dungeon, just as I activate the door, my game crashes (taking into consideration that I have "travel" auto-save on. Then I reloaded an auto-save from when I waited inside the jail, and let it work until I was released once more. I put my stuff back on, and this time I decide to save before attempting to go through the door... Bam, immediate crash, and it didn't even log/record/marked the save. At this point it's pretty safe to say for some reason after all the XPO content is actually done, my game simply cannot save after going through Prison Overhaul or it will crash... I say this because my third attempt, I loaded a save just before committing the crime, and did stuff with my inventory to sort of try and mimic losing, regaining and re-wearing all my items and such, then went to save the game and it worked. Do you have -any- clues what could the problem be? considering everything the mod is supposed to do actually works nicely? Here's a list of settings that I changed just as the mod loaded for the first time since the upgrade, and saved (this save is the one I loaded on my third attempt, and it's just before I go commit a crime to test the mod): -Chance for a female jailer: 0% -Who will abuse my character on punishments: Jailer -Enabled Change Timescale (can't remember if this was on by default or not, so just gonna type in how the setting was) -Enabled Fast-forward ... maybe one of those options somehow screwed my game once I got released? EDIT: I read a couple pages back that a couple of people were having my same issue, so it's a bit of a comfort to know I'm not the only one. Trying to think of a possible cause, it doesn't sound too unreasonable that some script may still be running after you get released. My problem with trying the "wait for some time after being released" work-around is that my game auto-saves on wait, so I either have to disable auto-save on waiting before doing so, or wait manually, which, if either works, that would get a little annoying but nothing too serious since I'm not really going to jail every 2 seconds anyway. I'll give the "waiting" work-around suggestion a go and update this post if it works. EDIT 2: Disabled Auto-save on Wait, and waited for 5 hours before attempting to save. When I tried saving I crashed. If there -is- a script that needs to be terminated after you get released, it doesn't seem like it will shut itself down. Looking into this ... thanks for the report.
xaz Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 sorry I haven't been able to respond, computer problems and major internet connection issues too. Yes I did do a clean install as stated in the first page, I still have the same issues I've always had with this mod. Now the MCM works, and so does the "skip long guard" option at the bottom which comes in handy because the guard/jailer always gets stuck. If I kill more than one guard to up my bounty to a major crime, ALL the guards keep attacking me even when bound. This has been a constant issue with the last 3 versions I have played. I'm cuffed, gagged and arrested, and the guards keep killing me. Even when I fast forward to the jail with the equipment chest, they keep attacking. I can only 'successfully" get arrested for minor assault. That means they don't kill me. When I lower the bar for serious crimes to nothing, and no matter how far into the future it says my release date is, I always get released the next day. Only once have I ever been put in the pillory, only in Solitude and never in Whiterun. Normally I spend the night in the jail cell waiting or sleeping. The jailer comes in the morning, sometimes whips me, but usually just releases me that very next day no matter how serious the crime was. I tried for more than two hours to be jailed properly but the same issues kept coming up. At least I didn't CTD except in Cidna mine when all those Forsworn kept attacking me from my previous encounter with them. Maybe my other mods are interfering, maybe I should put this higher up in the load order? I don't think the mod says anymore how long you're jailed. As you say, you're released the next day, which is the expected release date (because I figured waiting in a cell for 24h was no fun). Make sure you've followed the troubleshooting instructions on the first page. It sounds like you may have old scripts about or similar? Pillories can be found in Falkreath, Whiterun and Solitude. Just saying it so you don't go chasing after that in some other city. It will come, but there are a few bugs I have to sort out first (like a naste CTD). If you believe other mods to be interfering, you should place this mod last in your load order. That said, I recommend you don't reorder manually, but instead use BOSS for that. It's easier and probably works better. I'll see if I can find the reason the guards keep attacking you, but I believe that loose scripts may be to blame for this.

Thanks for the reply though, cheers! Only XPO (this mod)!! But you have to remove it (XPO) completely, including scrips. If I remember correct all mod materials lies in BSA archive, so you need to remove two files ESS and BSA. But my advise - check up the DATA/SCRIPTS folder and search old XPO scripts there (their names starts with XPO...) and remove them all.
MonaBabii Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 @Xaz: I'm already using NMM and BOSS. Is there any other program I could be using? Again though, I'm using a few mods that I'm pretty sure if I were to uninstall them it would corrupt my save files. @CheshiCat: Ah, okay, phew... I'll give that a try. Completely uninstall XPO, then re-check in the scripts folder see if I missed any files and then follow up the normal installing procedure.

If you use a mod manager, it'll probably remove scripts and so on for you when you upgrade to the next version, but check just in case. That said, I'm pretty sure I have no orphaned scripts in my setup, and I got the same save issue once. One interesting thing was that the system seems to destabilize after a trip to the pillories. Reloading the game forced my character into the T position, and shortly after that the game crashed (this was in the cell). Restarting and loading the same save and all was fine. Have you seen anything similar?

Reloading the game forced my character into the T position, and shortly after that the game crashed (this was in the cell). Restarting and loading the same save and all was fine. Have you seen anything similar? Hey. So far I've only tested this in Riften and with Minor crimes. NMM does in fact uninstall everything properly, and I double-checked see if I still had any loose scripts which I didn't, so once again I proceeded to reinstall the mod, this time not changing some of the settings I tweaked the first time in the XPO's MCM, and granted, still crashing when I get released and the game does any kind of auto-save It is physically impossible to load a game when the game crashes because, different than most crashes upon saving, this makes my game crash instantly, so the save doesn't register. My only chance at getting back in the game is loading a save from before I was released, but yeah... loading one of those doesn't fix it either. I'm pretty sure I don't have any mod conflicts, everything I'm using is working like charms, hell even XPO works like a charm until I get released and try to save (it doesn't even give me any issues if I save -while- I'm still imprisoned), and I use BOSS to tell which mods are currently redundant due to other mod applying the same patches and let it handle both the master list file or whatever that is, and the load order. I have not tested the pillories yet, but I'd assume they should be working fine as walking, following, punishments, everything works as it should. One thing to note though is that I didn't have this issue with the previous version of XPO I was running, v0.17. I know that's pretty vague but perhaps it'll give you some form of hint as to what it could be, it's likely something you changed between 0.17 and 0.19. I'm heading to bed now but I'll give the mod another try later today in Whiterun or Solitude just to test the pillories, and make a couple saves along the way to make sure they also work. EDIT: If it's of any help or usefulness, my SKSE version is 1.6.16, and my SkyUI version is 4.1.

Completely uninstall XPO and erase all XPO files. 2. Load your last save. 3. Save the game again (without XPO) 4. Install the last XPO version 5. Load your new save and play happily.
xaz Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 Ok, now it's me being lazy, but could everyone who has seen this problem (CTD on load/save) respond again in the thread? Describe if you have upgraded from a previous PO, if you're using any other mods, and when/how the ctd occurs (and when the problems started, which version of xpo). I'm going to try and find what's causing the issues...

I'm going to try and find what's causing the issues... The only CTD problem I encounter is when going into the prison in Whiterun, the game CTD when opening the door more or less in the beginning of the loading screen. I'm using: V019.7z And I'm not using any other mods that conflicts with PO. The problems started on a new save when I reinstalled everything and installed V019.7z
xaz Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 @monababii: So essentially, the only thing that happened to you was? 1. arrested, marched to the cell, then stripped etc 2. waiting in the cell for x hours (did you use the wait command or just sit out the punishment) 3. whipping 4. marched back to the chest

EDIT: If it's of any help or usefulness, my SKSE version is 1.6.16, and my SkyUI version is 4.1. Do you happen to have Lover's Comfort installed? That does cause a crash if you have the rape option working and anyone in the jail becomes aroused enough. When I turned it off, it stopped crashing on exit. Or, at least, I haven't had it crash since, but I only tried it one time on that character to see if it would work, and it did.
shinji72 Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 It happened for my in Solitude. It was not the last version. Version 17 or 18, not sure. After release, I got crush everytime I saved or trying exiting the dungeon. I thought the problem originated from the courier trying to give me a note while I was being drag to the prison. I've tried again with version 19 at Whindhelm and had no problem. No Lover Comfort installed. I had sanguine debauchery on but without the option to arouse other because of my nakedness.

I'm going to try and find what's causing the issues... I experienced CTD when exiting from Whiterun after realese and waiting/sleeping in its cell at night. Mostly (but not always) solved unchecking time scale changes. My personal opinion is it's not a bug, but simply a difficult to manage situation for not very powerful pc (like mine). If it was a bug or a conflict, it would happen every time at the same circumstance. Again, my opinion.

Describe if you have upgraded from a previous PO, if you're using any other mods, and when/how the ctd occurs (and when the problems started, which version of xpo). I'm going to try and find what's causing the issues... Only used version 19. Crashed in falkreath. I could still save the game while in the cell just before being released. Trying to save after being marched to the chests and released from the bindings the game crashed. I disabled auto save on travel etc temporarily to get around the issue, since I couldn't exit the prison with auto save on doors on. Could then save the game fine again outside. SD i had also installed. I also just slept through the sentence, so skipped pillories with that. That I did since I had to reload from a save before the pillories after getting stuck there I think, jailer seemed to be stuck standing near while my toon was stuck on the wriggling animation.
DSXX Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 In regards to voices I'm sure there's a few vanilla voice recordings you could use for some. Like the boo's from the Solitude execution. Probably a few others but it's easy to not pay attention to lines when you're so used to hearing them. As for Whiterun's pillories, placing them on either side of the well might not be bad either. If you've already considered the suggestions above, apologies!

All as it should, as the only reason I got jailed is because I whacked a guard on the back of the head with my shield As for the waiting, neither. I used the bed to sleep until around 8 am the morning after.

Which reminds me, hc mode should be locked on once you're locked up Followers seem to be also rather good on blocking the cell doors, preventing the jailer from coming in.

I'm starting to think it may be the timescale changes. It shouldn't affect anything apart from the visual experience, quest timing and so on (like some quests happening just during the day), but apparently it does. The ai is a lot more active on high time scales, for instance. I'm reading up on how other mods that alter time scale handle this, but they all seem fairly fine. Anyway, for those of you that can produce this consistently, it'd be nice if you could try it without the timescale changes and see if that helps.
MonaBabii Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 @Xaz: It does. I disabled both Fast-forward and Timescale, as I knew there were no pillories and my crimes were minor, and it still does it. Nevermind realized you were referring to another issue, not mine lol On that note though, I did try to disable timescaling and fastforwarding for my issue too, and still didn't work, so I guess mine is not a timescale issue as I originally thought.

Some seem to have it easier with the time scale changes disabled, but it could also be because the problem is random. I'm going to try and add a lot of Debug controls for the next release, and see if that smokes out things.
xaz Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 Followers seem to be also rather good on blocking the cell doors, preventing the jailer from coming in. Missed this part. ... I've yet to check followers. I think a lot of fun can be had with followers, but I've been busy with other things lately. Like that nasty ctd. That said, I'm adding it to my todo list.
shinji72 Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Maybe your follower could wait outside and when you are throw into jail you find a lockpick with a note..."Better leave now. Tomorrow will be an hard day. Your friend". So you have a chance to escape.
Whatevalols Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Hello i have bin playing with this mod for quite some time now but after upgrading to version 015 (i believe) when i get caught i need to walk to jail (as usual) but when i get to the prisoners belongings chest the gag + cuffs get unequiped + all my stuff + me and the guard guiding me to my cell just stand there it might be someting i did wrong while installing the mod or it might be skyrims fault if anyone has any idea i would REALLY appreciate the help ! Thanks for reading this - Whatevalols
