Exactly.  It's not seeing ads that bothers me, it's ads that so disrupt the viewing experience that they basically break the site.  But the real reason I use an ad-blocker is "Malvertising", which is malicious ads that infect with malware via malicious ads.  Malvertising has become less prevalent as an attack vector in recent years but it's still out there.

I have experienced that from Nexus once before.. It was only one time but.. it scared me quite a bit as I was trying to give them some revenue as I was using the site heavily at that time. It was only right (provided they didn't obstruct my use of the site with the ads and at that time they didn't ) It took me quite some efforts to report this and they tried to claim it was on my computer not there system until I managed to convince one of the moderators to double check (I could replicate the warning I got from my system) and verified it was a bad ad that shouldn't have been part of what was being given to visitors. After that experience I turned on Ad Block and never used that site without it since. Nexus, Lovers Lab and NSFWmods.con were the only sites I used without ad block now it is only Loveslab and NSFWmods. (which is really silly considering I don't get ads from either.. lol)

I use 2 systems - gaming, which allows all ads, everything....  I rarely use this system to do more than visit 4-5 sites (LL is one).

 

While the other system is an advertisers nightmare (8+ programs to make the internet look like it did 25 years ago).... sure I get 'yelled at' a lot by some web sites, but you know what? The internet is a big place, so I just move on. This is the system I use if I make online purchases or watch porn.

 

I haven't visited the Nexus for a while, but using The Sims Resource (TSR) on this system (gaming) gives me a headache.

I feel you, but I will not disable my ad-blocker. Even if we then get 2 MB/s.

But I got accustomed to it, they changed it in October last year. And really huge mods can be downloaded in the background while I do other things.

I just downloaded a bunch of monster mods and it's not that bad actually. 1 mb/s isn't that slow, and having to wait 5 seconds is just a minor inconvenience. Maybe I'm just used to shitty piss poor internet connections, but 2 mb/s is still pretty fucking fast.

Buying a premium account to download mods faster? Pffft.

 its more sadness that I think sometimes people deserve this fate. and yes maybe that is salty but whatever, everything is dying. I blame a  lot of things there are many reasons that things happen but I will possibly not go into it. I just don't know why people sit here and laugh at each other throw rude insulting garbage at each other and expect the other to sit back and be nice back. if anything its to be blamed its the internet for ripping people apart. You cant tell me that being on here brings people together not anymore anyway.

I get that, i didn't start a salt sprinkle competition with you for having opinions. You can love or hate Metallica, that's not the issue. You coming out and quite boldly saying people that do listen to Metallica or any music you deem sellout or too mainstream are inherently inferior is the issue i pointed out throughout our entire exchange, but somehow each time you doubled down on it, insisting and verbatim saying that you are always right. It doesn't help when your idea of bad/inferior musical taste is based on such shallow arguments. You very boldly claimed that music that "doesn't come from the depths of a blackened soul" or from an artist with a troubled past cannot live up to being good in their own right.

 

That's the core issue i pointed out in your arguments, beyond that what bands you enjoy and what music you hate is your business. I have preferences too. Music taste alone doesn't determine a person's quality, at best it's an indicator that is up for interpretations.

Moving on is not one of the things you've demonstrated so far. Though i'll admit i don't want this thread to get derailed and locked because of us so this probably isn't the best place to start this.
