emes Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 Not sure if my problem is due to DFC or not, but I have this mod and EFF and I'm having problems getting rid of a follower. I picked up Marcurio for a brief dungeon run and tried to pay him off. I owed him 0...for some reason? I selected "Let's part ways" and got the "A follower leaves your service" message. He took a few steps away before turning around and following me again. I tried this a few times, as well as picking Dismiss from the radial menu. He would leave, then come back again, occasionally saying he hopes I don't cheat him like other adventurers have. Anyone have any clue as to what's going on, and how I can get rid of the guy? Update: I think I figured something out. I used EFF's debug to clear him and he left. I did get a notice a few hours later about how he wanted his share, however, so I had to track him down, pay him, and then dismiss him again through dialogue. After that, things appear to be working normally again.
KLongad Sirtup Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 @Lupine00 Pama´s Deadly Furniture (scripts) has reached 1.7.0 stable release. Have you wanted to add torture furniture including deadly furniture into the modification (as well as player character executions)? If so this modification will help it could be a soft dependency so that those who don't want it can leave it out, also could be configurable by an option setting(s).

Set playerfollowercount to 0 in the console. If you have a framework, you will want to get rid of them through that and reset the followerframework too. So, I tried doing this and had no luck. I have the dialogue 'It's time to part ways' and Bruiser will say he's going home, but will still keep following me. The only method I found that worked was clicking on him in console to target him and disabling him to flat out remove him. While this worked, I don't want to get rid of him entirely either. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Edit: I happened upon another solution which kind of did the trick for me. Here's the steps I did (though I'm not sure all are essential): 1. First, follow all of the steps above in the above Quote. Make sure to exit out of the MCM menu each time you pause and unpause the mod. For me, at least, when I tried to unpause, the tickmark didn't disappear upon clicking it. It was only after clicking it once, close the menu and then opening it up again, did a tickmark appear indicating the mod was once again unpaused. 2. Next, enter a new cell/area. Preferably somewhere without any witnesses 3. Now, in the case of my follower, he's essential. I'm not sure if that's true for all Devious Followers, so you might want to give them this console command first: setessential <BaseID> <#> 4. You probably know where this is going by now. Beat the crap out of your follower until he falls to one knee and a message should pop up saying that your Follower has now left your service. While this worked, Bruiser (the follower I was trying to get rid of) is no longer available for re-hiring, though he did (eventually) go back to his proper home location after sleeping for 24 hours and doing a few fast travels to different places.
Tohsaka Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 How do I leave gold control mode? The popup notification says I can leave it, and my credit is higher than the required. But when I talked to my follower: "About my gold?", there's only option to ask about the rules.

You started the thread off saying the nipple piercings work correctly and the jacket doesn't; the comment on the nipple piercings appeared to be an aside. You noted the problem of the dialog firing repeatedly. The bug is the failure to fit the jacket when the "when I say slut" dialog fires. This jacket is applied by that dialog using ForceEquipDevice and fails to add it because the skipEvents parameter isn't True. So, I was never referring to the piercings, or even looked into their behavior, as it didn't appear to be broken, or even relevant to that game. I read back to see if there was a bug with the piercings you described, but I didn't see it. Is there a bug with the piercings? They're not what I was referring to at all, and wouldn't cause that dialog to fire. ForceEquipDevice is used on the jacket, and - in my ESP - the jacket is in the properties I expect. Hello, I just posted about the straitjacket in the SE version forum. My DF jackets me. I struggle out of it. DF notices and speaks. The jacket never re-equips and the dialog constantly repeats,. The jacket is still in my inventory. I have to put the jacket on myself to stop the dialog loop. I do not have DH or DCL.

loniceraa Posted October 24, 2020 Posted October 24, 2020 Minor bug report: In the variant of the third stage of the Slut deal where you're forced to wear an armbinder in town, the dialogue to remove it doesn't show up. This is because the dialogue conditions check for the keyword zad_DeviousArmbinder, but _DF_EasyArmbinder_Rope_Rendered has the keyword zad_DeviousArmbinderElbow instead. Changing the rendered item's keyword to zad_DeviousArmbinder resolves the problem.

If I keep it on, then DF will give me somethng special to do in order to get released. That part works w/o any problem. The only issue is when I struggle out of the jacket before we get to place and DF says, "you got out...enchanted...when I say...". The piercings will be added if I don't already have them. If I have piercings I get the 'can't equip multiple piercings' message. The jacket does NOT re-equip. I don't get any sort of message or dialog box and the jacket is in my inventory ready to go. The convo and attempted piercing re-equip loop until I put the straitjacket on myself. Then we continue as normal, we get to place, and DF tells me what I need to do.

Crota Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Just reinstalled Skyrim a few months ago and still getting everything in line slowly. I can't remember which mod it I had that did this but it is definitely connected to devious followers. Basically, if you were found wandering the town without a follower a guard would approach you and ask you where your companion is or something. Then he would chain you up and make you take him to a follower, there is then a scripted scene where you ask them to cover for you and in turn accept a bunch of deals/debt to be set free from the guard. Appreciate the help if you know what patch/mod this is from.

user9120975435 Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 While in Dragonsreach my follower and guards equipped a petsuit on my char and now when I try to interact with my follower the only thing she says is "What, slave?". previously she said she wants to present me to the Jarl, but when I get to the Jarl she doesn't do anything, nor can I interact with Balgruf further after he patted me on the head. How do I progress the quest?

How do I progress the quest? iirc what you need to do is maneuver your follower close enough to the Jarl, and the Jarl cannot be in a scene when you do this, then your follower will have to have a conversation with the Jarl (i think it triggers off random comments).

I do the required number of people and DF eventually releases me. My only problem is before I get to the Inn and manage to get out of the straitjacket. My DF says 'Interesting, but it's enchanted.' There's an attempt to put piercings on, that works. But nothing else happens, not even a failed attempt to re-lock me into the straitjacket. At this point I'm in a loop where DF keeps saying the 'interesting ... enchanted...when I say...' line, piercings attempt, nothing, 'interesting ... enchanted...when I say...' line, piercings attempt, nothing, 'interesting ... enchanted...when I say...' line, piercings attempt, nothing... The cycle only breaks when I put the jacket back on myself. Everything then works as intended: get to an Inn, use mouth, get released.
Brommer Posted November 1, 2020 Posted November 1, 2020 I had an event trigger where a guard puts me in handcuffs and follows me around to "look for my master" impossible to get rid of. It took me ages digging through TESVedit to figure out that this mod did it and I should hire a follower. I think it would be great for other players coming across this event (I guess triggered by having no follower and 0 willpower?) if there was at least a tiny hint to figure out what to do.

The guard demands that you take him to your master. When this feature was written, the only way to lose willpower was via DF itself, so you would undoubtedly have had a "master", and it would be your previous DF. It would certainly be helpful if this were implemented better though. He should remind you of what he wants from time to time. If you take too long he should just throw you in jail (or PoP) for a bit and abort the quest.

But it might be a bit more straightforward, such as a broken check ... so I'll put it in my list. The only way I can fix this nonsense is to replace the (relatively small) chunk of code in the DD API with something more reliable. That code has some odd logic in it, and a broken locking mechanic (and I mean code locking exclusive access to data via threads in this context). Then, a huge number of DF scripts would need to be updated to use that new code. As for my getting to do any code on DF in the near future ... it's not likely until the end of November. I have work priorities until at least then, and I also need to move my dev environment off my old laptop. I really am doing nothing at Skyrim just now, can't even play it, but I haven't given up on it. 1

Once I realized it was Devious Followers it became obvious what to do of course. It works even if you don't hire the last follower you had btw. That "fee" the follower pays the guard is ridiculously over the top. I expected to pay back the follower a few hundred gold but it was about 12000 (4 days worth of debt). At least I finally had to do more than 1-2 deals lol.
