and maybe more than one tentacle monster portrait?

A bit of an oversight on forging for religious and zealot events as they lacked the tentacle group in the code. I found this out in my game yesterday and completed all of the steps needed for the zealous bloodline. The ambition wouldn't clear and the bloodline wasn't created. I've remedied this by adding tentacle group to the list of available religions. The event should work correctly now when you forge the bloodline for those two things.

 

To install just save to your \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\Cheri - Tentacled Dreams\events folder or just unzip the zip version using the Extract Here option.

 

Cheri feel free to incorporate this into your mod with credit please.

v3.1 "The Risen Brood" - 8 February 2020

 

Compatible with saved games from v3.0-a10 and up.

 

Tentacled Dreams Images has been updated and you should download it to get the latest icons. Without it, you won't be able to select the new ambitions for tentacle monsters.

 

New Features

  • There is now a game rule to begin the game as a tentacle monster. There are two flavors of this:

    • "Tentacle Invasion" starts you off as a landless tentacle monster with the ability to spawn a doomstack in any county and declare a Tentacle Invasion of that kingdom.

    • "Tentacle Brood" transforms the selected ruler into a tentacle monster and their realm into a tentacle brood.

  • Tentacle monsters now have access to four unique ambitions (available even if they have the Incapable trait): Infest New Realms, Amass Breeding Slaves, Spawn a Thousand Young, and Inspire Worshipful Servitude.

  • Tentacle monsters will now repeatedly ravish their prisoners until they turn into tentacle slaves.

 

Tweaks

  • Tentacle Invasions now affect Tentacle Cultist moral authority when they succeed or fail.

  • AI tentacle monsters of Count-tier and below will now be less aggressive if they have a tentacle monster liege. This should vastly reduce lag in Submissionist realms.

  • Tentacle monsters can now Attack any direct vassal, not just the ones they've appointed as councillors. This is because you could appoint someone as a councillor and then Attack them. This cuts out the middle step.

  • Tentacle birthing events now have an option to turn off notifications with one click.

  • Tentacle monsters now have a more fitting response to the creation of a new Tentacle Brood.

  • AI tentacle monsters will no longer have dozens of lovers.

  • Characters can no longer seduce their way out of a tentacle monster's dungeon.

  • Random tentacle monsters now have a chance to be Ambitious.

  • You now get more appropriate random names for tentacle monsters you birth.

  • Tweaked the Tentacle Monster and Tentacle Slave trait icons to match the colors of their corresponding government icons.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Tentacle warbeasts birthed by your prisoners and wives will now appear in their location, not yours.

  • Fixed tentacle monsters not Stalking players properly.

  • Fixed characters not correctly getting tentacle governments after usurping a title.

  • Fixed tentacle pregnancies being scandalous when they shouldn't be (kidnapped by tentacle monster).

  • Fixed tentacle monsters being converted to other religions by a court chaplain.

  • Fixed the Ravish event dialog appearing for tentacle monsters during Fertility Festival events.

  • Fixed Submissionist realms generating women with an undefined ethnicity.

 

Modding

  • Added has_tentacled_dreams_trigger.

Dammit, every time I update this mod you release another amazing update and I have to start my game over again to get the whole experience.  I'm never going to get to finish a match of CK2 at this rate :(

 

Please keep going though.  I'll just suffer through it ;)

The mod is mostly playable without the images, but you'll see a lot of UI issues. I'll think about splitting the image download into "essential images" and "event pictures" so that you can play the game without event pictures if they bother you.

I found that when playing the tentacle invasion start with random holy sites (the option that puts them near you), I got holy sites that weren't anywhere near me. I started in India, but all five of the random holy sites were located in northern France.

Since day once, I've NEVER been able to do anything playing as a Tentacle Monster, this includes the new Tentacle Invasion scenario as my regent won't let me do anything. She's a tentacle slave, she should allow me to do EVERYTHING? I'm playing CK2 with the required mods, current DW mod, Tentacle Mod w/Images, Sound, CheriScripting and crusader milk. The CK2 DLC I have is Reapers Due, Way of Life and Holy Fury.

I will add a note that the Tentacled Dreams regencies only work with Conclave. If you don't have Conclave you may want to turn regencies off.

Maybe silly mode allowing tentacle monsters to function like normal helps?

I've started a new game using the latest version. I've got fast pregnancies on, and only vaginal pregnancies on, as well as pregnancy consequences. Playing as a female ruler, every time I get pregnant with a tentacle spawn I tell my husband, and he is understanding. But multiple times after giving birth to the tentacle spawn he confronts me over the fast pregnancy, than accuses me of lying when I admit I gave birth to a tentacle spawn.

So how do i start as a tentacle monster cause i couldn't find the tentacle brood or invasion game rules and i did put the newest files in the game mod file do i need to do something specific or is there a another reason?

It looks like I broke some stuff when I was fiddling with tentacle pregnancies. I'll get around to fixing this.

Taking over a country as a landless tentacle leads to an immediate gameover even if you win. My guess you immediately get dethroned. Can't continue to the game after that

 

Seem to happen when invading a place where your lover is the ruler and you immediately declare war and then enforce demands.

I'm a little confused when it comes to the "Tentacle monsters are incapable" game rule. If I end up playing as one, wouldn't that make it so I can't really do anything, if I have to always have a regent?

Seem to happen when invading a place where your lover is the ruler and you immediately declare war and then enforce demands.

I just started a game last night and took over West Francia in 867. The game worked fine for me

Turn on "Silly Mode" in the tentacle monsters game rule to fix that. 

 

Or alternatively,  type this into the console  "remove_trait incapable"  If it's for your own character, you won't need the character ID at the end of the console command.   

 

But while I'm not sure, I think the mod reapplies the incapable trait cause I remember consoling a bunch of tentacle monster rulers to remove the Incapable trait a while back during a game where I didn't turn on the Silly rule for them and it apparently got reapplied shortly afterwards.   But I'm not sure.

I'd like to make a suggestion for a starting tentacle realm when starting a game.  "Semi-Dagonic realm"  Basically it's similar to Dagonic, but with more tentacle monster rulers but not to the degree of a Submissionist realm.   Basically, tentacle monsters would spawn at the emperor, king and a few major duchies.  The rest would be tentacle slave rulers.

Thanks, I've seen that rule. I was just curious about since the default is to have them be incapable, what the intended experience is for playing tentacle monsters, if you're not supposed to be able to directly rule your kingdom as one.

v3.2 "Under New Management" - 15 February 2020

 

Compatible with saved games from v3.0-a10 and up.

 

New Features

  • After a tentacle monster wins a war, refugees will flee from its realm and cause provinces that don't have tentacle religion or culture to become depopulated. This is a severe debuff to the province's taxes and levies for 20 years.

  • Depopulated provinces ruled by characters with tentacle culture and religion have a chance to receive an event that converts their religion to Tentacle Cultist.

  • Tentacle monsters can now summon a fleet of 1000 ships by right-clicking any coastal county shield. This helps you expand or raid overseas if you don't have any coastal demesne provinces, since you can't raise fleet levies from tentacle concubinages.

  • Landless tentacle monsters now have a chance to spawn and invade independent realms with a stack of tentacle warbeasts. If successful, they will usurp a duchy from the ruler to form a new tentacle brood. This can be turned off via game rule if you don't want it to happen.

  • Tentacle monsters now receive an event reminding them to pick an ambition if they don't have one.

  • You now get notifications about the total number of tentacle children birthed by your wives and prisoners each year.

  • Included an updated French translation by lukaslunt.

 

Tweaks

  • All Tentacled Dreams narrative events now use a unique event window. This means that Dark World Reborn and Luxuria Fantasia are no longer required for narrative events to display properly.

  • Reduced lag when a tentacle monster ruler of a large realm creates or grants titles.

  • Negative regency events will no longer fire for tentacle monsters. This overrides regency_events.txt.

  • Tentacle monsters now get a significant opinion penalty towards each other. This negates a bunch of positive opinion modifiers from having same traits and such, and should make realm management as a tentacle monster ruler more interesting.

  • Mindbroken Broodwhores now get a massive penalty to vassal opinion.

  • The Luxuria Fantasia options dialog will now appear after you start the game as a tentacle monster.

  • Increased the Essence cost of a Tentacle Invasion to 1000.

  • Tentacle Invasions now usurp all holdings in the de jure kingdom in addition to all occupied holdings. This is to save you the hours that you'd otherwise spend revoking the duchies, counties, and baronies you didn't occupy.

  • Reduced the Moral Authority modifier from Tentacle Invasions to 5%, down from 10%.

  • Tentacle Horde retinues are no longer maintenance-free (thus costing more piety).

  • Non-tentacle slave child rulers are now eligible to become tentacle concubinages as long as they're the tentacle-born child of a tentacle slave.

  • Tentacle monsters no longer automatically add tentacle slaves they ravish as their lovers. This is to stop your list of lovers from becoming hilariouly cluttered. You can still use the Instil Love targeted decision if you want your tentacle slaves as lovers.

  • Tentacle monsters will no longer Stalk AI characters if you set AI Encounters to Off.

  • Significantly reduced the time it takes for tentacle monsters to Stalk distant characters.

  • Nerfed the doomstack spawned by the Tentacle Invasion starting scenario from 30k troops to 24k troops.

  • Tentacle Cultist holy sites will now appear somewhere close to the ruler you selected if you picked Tentacle Invasion game rule, rather than being any random cluster of provinces on the map.

  • The Spawn a Thousand Young ambition now advances whenever you ravish someone, even if you don't impregnate her. This is to preserve the game balance whether you have Multiple Pregnancy on or off.

  • Imprisoning characters obedient to you will no longer count toward the requirement of the Amass Breeding Slaves ambition.

  • AI rulers will no longer form Tentacle Broods unless they have a realm size of 50 or larger.

  • AI rulers are now far less likely to invite tentacle monsters to their court.

  • AI rulers will no longer recruit their tentacle children as warbeasts unless they have a very sizable treasury. This should make the map less cluttered and AI tentacle slaves less likely to bankrupt themselves.

  • AI rulers will now freely abdicate as breeding slaves if they aren't of the player's dynasty and their child is of the R'lyeh dynasty.

  • Characters over 40 can now be consigned to the tentacle pit (in the same way that rulers over 40 can abdicate as breeding slaves).

  • You will no longer be notified of your provinces getting tentacled if you aren't at war with the besieging character.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the wrong character sometimes appearing in a notification that someone has been outed as a tentacle slut.

  • Fixed the tentacle pregnancy event telling characters their tentacle pregnancy was corrupted by tentacle cum.

  • Fixed known tentacle pregnancies incorrectly getting scandals.

  • Fixed tentacle monsters not being allowed to Stalk tentacle slaves.

  • Fixed a wrong event id being called in a Stalk event chain.

  • Fixed special NPCs not being initialized correctly by Tentacled Dreams.

  • Fixed the Purge Tentacle Corruption decision appearing for titles you don't control for some reason.

  • Fixed Submissionists not being able to appoint women as Tentacle Speakers.

  • Fixed tentacle monster names not being properly randomized on certain occasions.

  • Fixed lieges of lieges not being informed when a province is ravaged by tentacles.

  • Fixed players not being able to Stalk non-player characters when AI Encounters is set to Off.

  • Fixed some wrong tooltips and localization issues.

If you have the Conclave DLC, your regent and your entire council will be brainwashed and obedient to you.

Make sure you have Cheri Scripting Library and the latest version of CK2 (3.3.0 or higher).
