Suggestion:  Can we get the variations of the religion in the main descriptor of the mod?  Don't think there is much difference between them but at least they are listed.

 

Question:  Any plans to add attributes to the Tentacle Brood Culture?

This happened because you merged a newer version of Dark World Tentacles with an older version, messing up the Dagonic holy sites. To fix this, delete the entire Dark World Tentacles mod folder and reinstall a fresh download.

I don't know what you're talking about. DWE_base_events.txt is part of Dark World Extras, not Dark World Tentacles. The only condition for the Dark World Tentacles "religion founder" bloodline is that no other cult leader has clicked the "Openly Adopt Faith" decision yet.

I doubt it as all the tentacle festival events check for age. Judging by Marcelle's traits, it looks as though you have another mod installed that affects pregnancies. That mod is probably causing issues rather than Dark World Tentacles. (I love your dynasty name by the way.)

I prefer to gloss over specific details in the mod description so that players can discover the mod features for themselves.

 

Tentacle Brood culture currently gives +25% fertility (representing everyone having tons of sex all the time). Tentacle Cultist religions also provide a large bonus to Tentacle Warbeast stats. I'm not sure what other attribute bonuses would make sense - feel free to suggest some though.

If you want to try out tentacle monsters in their current unfinished state, use event Tentacle.59999 to spawn a tentacle monster in your court.

Also, another suggestion: The birthing events spawning one-troop subunits really make troop management tedious and a big pain, and could possibly bloat save game size in the long run. Instead of having birthing events spawn subunits directly, maybe have them just add points to a variable score, which the player can then spend as a currency to purchase larger subunits (containing five, ten, twenty, fifty, or one hundred troops each).

 

Ideally, there would also be a way to recycle old troops, so you can swap a massive pile of fractional subunits for whole ones (e.g., convert twenty subunits atcles at 0.05 troops remaining into a single full-health 1.00 troop subunit), but that might be asking a bit much. It might be easier to simply have them reinforce themselves to repair, if the game engine allows, but with some sort of upkeep cost in terms of variable points, or introducing a soft-cap on number of beasts active. ..

Just going to add this is, I'm also having issues with infants being pregnant, mostly with (near as I can tell) non-existent fathers.  I've only had this issue with tentacle cultist and tentacle brood characters.  This does result male babies, so it's not specifically tentacles doing it, but I've not had it with any game where I wasn't a tentacle slave.

 

Running DWF, all DWF submods, Irea, Elven expansion, drozzat's mod , DW extras, beyond heresy, Tale of Nine tales, Cheri portraits, and Sexy succession laws.

Been having a great deal of fun with this -- good work on making an entertaining mod with a lot of content!

 

I was thinking about the problem of most of the Dagonist holy sites being in a region where most start dates have a massive Muslim empire that's hard to crack open.  An idea occurred to me -- what if, once there's an openly Dagonist realm in the game, nations that hold one or more Dagonist holy sites without being Dagonist themselves start to risk having negative events occur?  Things like increased revolt risk (from peasants upset by tentacle attacks), outright Dagonist revolts, increased decadence (as the dynasty's women find themselves drawn more to tentacles), income or levy penalties (as peasants get abducted), and so on.  Maybe not enough to break up a big realm like the Abbasids outright, but enough to give an ambitious Dagonist ruler opportunities she can exploit if she's watching for an opening.

More interesting events after flipping to Tentacle Cultist are on my to-do list.

I don't know if it's just me, but being able to generate all these positive traits with virtually no risk or cost feels like playing with a cheat mode, especially when played alongside moth other mods whose spells generally come with costs (mana for DFExtra, essence for kitsunes, piety for lillith, knowledge stat drain for in-depth slavery mod, etc). 

 

Any thought given to having the transformation give drawbacks as well? Like maybe whenever a roll procs which grants increased physical attractiveness, maybe have a chance of it also causing intellectual decrease? Like [shrewd -> dull], [ambitious -> content], or loss of the knowledge stat, or removing temperature/patient?

Getting gangked in three consecutive Holy wars in less than 2 decades is nerf enough for me, thanks.

As it is, tentacle cultists do not get Holy Wars so if one gets declared on a tentacle religion realm, they're gonna get crushed never mind the fact that Holy Wars are way overpowered in it's present state IMHO. 

 

In the current version, as far as I can tell, they only have a single province CB.

The downside of going full tentacle is dealing with the scandal (if you aren't Tentacle Cultist) and religious tension (if you are). In future updates, religious warfare will be an even more dangerous concern. I'm not too concerned about balance though, since the purpose of this mod is to fulfil tentacle fantasies and that will always take precedence over game balance.

Tentacle cultists do have access to holy wars. Not sure why they aren't showing up for you.

Would be fun if the tentacle religion(s) would be able somehow if we own Holy Fury so we could use some of the reform features or some dogma that we can transfer a regular pagan religion into a more tantacle loving like one. So there could pop up more different kind of tentacle religions with more infighting and fighting so in the end the tentacle masters will get more slaves for breeding.

I've considered adding a "tentacle doctrine" to reformed religions. The issue though is that the "reform a pagan religion" path and the "secretly convert to Dagonic" path don't play nicely with each other. It's on the back burner for now until I can figure out a way to make it work.

New Features

  • Tentacle Cultist rulers can now Choose a Patron Deity once in their lifetime, much like Eastern rulers. This lets you dedicate your life to a specific Lovecraftian deity to receive a permanent modifier of your choice.

 

Tweaks and Bug Fixes

  • Tentacle Brood culture has been overhauled. It is now a culture group with four regional cultures: Maris Brood (Europe), Alilat Brood (Africa and Middle East), Sahasralingi Brood (India), and Inrei Brood (Tibet and East Asia). Instead of all having slutty American and Japanese names, characters that adopt a Tentacle Brood culture will now have more region-appropriate slutty names.
    • Note that I don't speak most of these languages and the names are guesstimated based on research. Feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions for improvement (such as cooler or sexier names) or if you want to contribute name lists for areas that aren't well represented (such as the Caucasus and North Asia).
  • Tentacle Brood cultures now use Byzantine graphics for their holdings.
  • The Hold a Tentacle Fertility Festival decision is no longer high priority by default.
  • Fixed characters under 16 being impregnated by a Fertility Festival event.
  • The dynasty members of players are now much more likely to raise tentacle-born daughters.
  • Shortened the duration of the moral authority modifier from destroying tentacle lairs from 20 years to 5 years, so tentacle religions don't have massive stacked penalties all the time.
  • The Fuckable Nipples trait is now publicly visible if the character has the Known Tentacle Slut trait.
  • Fixed some issues with gender succession laws on titles created by Tentacle Cultists.
  • Fixed the same courtiers being chosen multiple times for one of the Fertility Festival flavor events.
  • Fixed an error with one of the pregnancy flavor events when playing without Dark World Extras.
  • Fixed some tooltip errors.

Any interest in enabling pyramid wonders for tentacle religions? Not an especially major issue, but given the Obelisk unique building, and the fact that one of the Holy Sites is 1 county over from the pyramid at Giza it seems like it might be a reasonable feature

Tentacle Great Works are on my to-do list, especially since there's already a fan submod for it.
